Hear me out- small change to Alistar
Hey fellow Leaguers, you're probably wondering what in the world needs to be changed about Alistar. I play Alistar, I love him, and there's really nothing wrong with him. I don't want a good champion to be lost in a rework. That's not why I'm here- and I promise that Alistar would still be the same Champion if we added one small change.
The Issue? Alistar's WQ combo seems unintentional.
- No mention of combination effects in Alistar's kit
- No additional animations to show the CC from W being applied
- Full Mana Cost
When we look at intentional kit combinations, there's always a clear description, and clear visuals that show the difference. Take Tahm Kench for example: His kit clearly explains the QW combo in his abilities, You can see the effectiveness when a minion is devoured from 3x the distance, and with the Mana reduction on the combo cast it's all pretty clear that the combination is its own mechanic and not something accidental.
I'm not saying Alistar's combo is an accident- there's just nothing that really sets the combo apart from the separate abilities. There's nothing telling us that WQ is basically its own, single ability.
Solutions? Make it more obvious!
- Add a bonus description of the combination in Alistar's kit: Headbutt: ... "Rear the Horns"- Casting Pulverize in combination with Headbutt causes Alistar to rear his horns and fling target into the air for 2.5 seconds...
- Give the combination a new splash animation (If target gets hit with WQ maybe they hover for a moment and flail their arms)
Alistar's WQ combo "stacks CC". But you have to take our word for it or take out your stop watch because there's no real indication that the CC is better. And that's the only issue I have with Alistar. (I prefered when his heals and tramples were reversed because you healed minions and trampled turrets making him more of a lane-dominance support.. but that's another discussion)
