Why not unlock icons of a champion's portrait when you reach Mastery 5 with them?

because that would make too much sense and be like nearly every other moba out there.

i feel like mastery should go up to 10, then it would be fair, so much dedication for that champ m8

Yes, along with fiora's old splash art unlocked if you get lv 5 mastery with her.

I would like to see both chromas and icons linked to champion mastery. The mastery system could even be more stringent, requiring a greater number of games (or maybe even a number of games with A or above ratings) with these champions to unlock the rewards.

Personally, and I know this is way more work than icons, but you know the dumb lcs emotes and champion mastery emote you can spam? I'd love the champion mastery one to instead display your champion, either just their face, or them giving a thumbs up or something.

As a Teemo player, I'd take great joy in killing someone with shrooms, and then having a giant smug teemo face appearing above me for a second. :P

I would be very surprised if they dont eventually. It would seem very simple to implement.

The only thing I can think of as to why they haven't yet is because they're waiting to include it as a reward for a higher mastery level than level 5 (6 and 7 are already confirmed to be in the works).

Mastery level 5 isn't all that hard to achieve honestly, and I would like for Champion portraits to represent the hard work of the truly dedicated of each Champion, not just someone who just happened to put in a moderate amount of time into them.
