Can Death's Dance's DoT damage not cancel recalls?

Kind of annoying how I have to wait 3 seconds after taking a jungle camp or dragon or something to recall. Not a huge impact, but it's just annoying.

this is risk/reward you have to gauge when taking the item, similarly deathfire touch will get you tower aggro even if you havent attacked the enemy while under tower but because of damage before being in tower range.

dot damage is dot damage so you have to expect these things to happen.

now if you were asking for deathsdance passive DOT not to be proc'd from jg creeps to therefore allow a quicker recall after things like baron/dragon, then this i could understand for sure :)

I can see your point on this. Since recall doesn't last as long as the 3 seconds, I would be perfectly ok with this!

gameplay wise this would barely hold any influence so why not right

I often only warp back with less than a half second to spare before the enemy team shows up. Death's dance gives a very different mechanic to fighting, but the cost of that is you are still technically in battle afterwards, making it a bit more risky and something you have to pay for in more than just the gold. I think it's perfectly justifiable that you can't back immediately, since you probably only lived that long because of the item anyway.

P.S. I was extremely annoyed when they removed my favorite mastery.

No.

Those 3 seconds are part of the damage you took. If you took enough damage to die, but got to go back soon enough for the fountain to "save you" then that would effectively be like backing while being affected by Teemo, Twitch, Brand dots etc.

Deaths Dance turns a portion of the damage you take into a DoT so you can live longer during a fight. This is both the advantage and disadvantage to the item. You got to parse out the damage (that could have been lethal, and may still kill you) over 3 seconds, but you still have to wait 3 seconds for the damage you took to "finish."

When choosing Deaths Dance, you are choosing an item that turns a portion of damage you take into DoT, and you dont get to base while taking damage. You may not like that mechanic, but it if you cant play around it, then perhaps you should choose another item.

What...? How would you back in 3 seconds? Because taking any other form of damage that's not Death's Dance would cancel your back.

That would require the effort of at least two people just to back with death's dance. It's stupid and not worth it.

In an incredibly tiny number of corner cases that will basically never come up in game.

It's not a big deal.

Unfortunately, this is unlikely to change unless they change item 3068 to only aggro on jungle camps after applying damage from another source. Riot will most likely say that it is the cost to purchasing the item. :/

i don't think it's possible to program it that way, taking dmg always cancels recall.

they stopped old dragons DOT from doing it so yeah they can

but whatever dmg you take it becomes deathdance dot, no matter it's a champ dmg or monster dmg.
