The real nerf that Yasuo needs

hudzell··65 votes·3,901 views

Not damage, but cooldowns and durations. How long he can hold his tornado for is absolutely ridiculous, he can literally zone you from a whole wave for TEN GODDAMN SECONDS. It should be bumped down to at least 6, or even 5 seconds. And his ult cooldown needs to be increased, because that shit's up way to often for such a powerful ultimate, especially at later levels. The cooldown of it right now is 80 / 55 / 30. What it should be is something less ridiculous like 100 / 85 / 70. You guys already nerfed the armor pen on his ultimate, but that wasn't enough as far as I can tell. He's still one of the most obnoxious laners to lane against, if not the most obnoxious in this game, and it doesn't help that his ultimate that is already annoying in itself is up in next to every single fight.

They nerfed TF a while back for the same reason, they reduced how long he could hold onto his cards.

Melledoneus23 votes

Yasuo can E-Q for a targeted AoE knockup.

Poske4 votes

Actually it can be dodged.. the more you know (I am talking about EQ)

Melledoneus1 votes

It's pretty hard to out run a dash into an instant AoE.

EdgerAllanPwnd3 votes

if the yasuo is dashing from behind u just keep walking forward and u have a good chance of dodging it

NightmareAmazoX2 votes

Any dash in the game will dodge his E/Q . Did you even look up before making this thread.

IPromiseTomorrow8 votes

Well he needs to be close and if the positioning is bad, his target can dodge it.

Melledoneus8 votes

You can't screw up positioning if you're dashing on top of the person.

IPromiseTomorrow9 votes

He can, sometimes he dashes too much infront of his target and misses the Q.

Or the target flashes-dashes- has 500movespeed they can get out with correct use of mobility.

Melledoneus9 votes

He can, sometimes he dashes too much infront of his target and misses the Q.

That's Yasuo outplaying himself.

Or the target flashes-dashes- has 500movespeed they can get out with correct use of mobility.

So, basically you're saying immobile mages are screwed.

IPromiseTomorrow2 votes

No immobile mages get punished if they trespass Yasuo's 'zone'. People need to get used to Yasuo dashing towards minions since forever. Failing to be out of dash range and zone... Is not Yasuo's fault.

Edit: V Also, first thing you said is true, though if the target gets a good prediction for Yasuo's dash... Target can walk towards a dashing Yasuo and flee from his E-Q Range. Pretty situational it is.

Melledoneus8 votes

I'm fine with Yasuo having a kill zone if it didn't include most of the lane. He has more MS with his items, so he doesn't always need to dash to catch someone.

IPromiseTomorrow2 votes

His zone is the minions. He's predictable this way. His zone is not most of the whole lane.

Melledoneus4 votes

Hold on, let me accurately predict which of the 7 minions Yasuo will dash through, throw my CC that I may or may not have, and hope he doesn't press W or E in a different direction.

IPromiseTomorrow4 votes

Or you could just be out of range and farm passively. Just like every other laner can do. Pop is shield with an auto and he'll lose trades because of minion aggro.

He has these weaknesses. He's squishy so minion aggro does significant damage. His shield is a trading tool aswell as just being a shield.

Melledoneus6 votes

I'm not Caitlyn where I can infinitely farm out of range. If I'm playing a mage who's not Xerath or Ziggs, I'm going to be autoing more than using abilities to clear because I have resource issues and he doesn't. Also, I hope you know that popping his shield means he's in range to dash up to me and win trades by default because he can E-auto-Q and take half of my HP and dash away, wind walling if I throw anything on his way out.

GayFluffyUnicorn4 votes

Okay so when i said Zed's range is fine and mages need to stay back i get downvoted to oblivion but yasuos counterplay pattern being to stay away from any minions is fine. k.

IPromiseTomorrow2 votes

Think of it like this. When you compare a champ to another champ they aren't treated the same.

Some champs have this special identity. They have similar abilities but they aren't going to be used exactly the same.

One champs way to suceed, carry, to protect, tank.... And to waste another's cooldowns and assassinate via reaction, movement, damage, prediction. Won't be a direct copy and paste.

That last part I said is what assasins and skirmishers do. (Fiora, Yasuo, Zed, Talon,Kass, etc.)

But when a champ gets nerfed because they get compared to So-so champ. Is ignorance and lazy reasoning. Ignoring that champs role abilities ergo ignoring that champion as a whole.

GayFluffyUnicorn1 votes

Just plain nope from my side. Defend your senpai all you want. Yasuo has the same issue as zed. Yasuo controls the whole laning phase, the only way to outplay him is the yasuo outplaying himself. Same thing Zed did. Zed got nerfed because he should choose when and why to use his W. Mobility, harass or waveclear. And yasuo gets away with it and you fanboys even defend it by saying: well it is his killzone. Okay so the key to win against yasuo is to not play the lane against him. That's bullshit and ridiculous. Yasuo needs a fix CD on his E. 3 seconds for instance. Not 0,8 being able to dash around all day long, harassing you, avoiding any skillshot and if he gets in trouble he just throws his W or Q.

IPromiseTomorrow1 votes

Zed has the freedom of using mobility independent from minions/targets. Yasuo is dependent on targets and minions. Yasuo doesn't control the lane. He has wicked mobility after level 5-7.

He has huge power when surrounded by minions. Also whenever he dashes, he pokes, stacks q. He pushes in the wave. He then is easy to gank. He has that

Melledoneus2 votes

Zed's range and damage is tied to his W. He throws out W, there goes his poke and his all-in. You get a ~2 second time window to react when he ults, and if you manage to dodge his abilities or CC him during his all-in, you win. During team fights, your tank or support can CC him when he jumps in to either kill him or pressure him to return back to safety without a kill.

Yasuo on the other hand can dash multiple times within a small period of time to harass you and go back. Worst part is it only takes 2-3 dashes, which he can do multiple times, so good luck. Not to mention that if he ults you, your Zhonya's doesn't mean shit and he'll crit you to death if the ult damage itself didn't kill you. He can also jump into a full team as long as someone gets knocked up, can completely negate the ADC with the press of a button, and shred anybody with his crits unless they are an ungodly sustain machine. Even then Yasuo can buy EC to f*ck them over as well.

Zed seems like child's play compared to Yasuo.

By this logic dodging a skillshot is the person who fired it "outplayed" himself?

And mages can point blank their cc for guaranteed damage then proceed to fuck him up.

Also yes, abusing a person's mistake is counterplay, because no one, not even faker, plays the game perfectly.

Well, I was referring to if Yasuo messes up his combo then yeah, he outplayed himself technically. A good example would be if you're playing Talon and you jump on someone, just to throw your W the wrong direction to miss a lot of damage and get bursted down after, you technically outplayed yourself. Nobody outplayed you because YOU messed up, thus YOU outplayed YOURSELF.

And mages can point blank their cc for guaranteed damage then proceed to fuck him up.

If Yasuo's W wasn't instant cast and start from the center of his model, yes. But the moment he sees the projectile, he can W and negate it even if it's technically on his person but hasn't triggered yet.

Also yes, abusing a person's mistake is counterplay, because no one, not even faker, plays the game perfectly.

Well, not technically counterplay, since that's defined as countering somebody's advantage. Counterplay would be, for example, Talon pressing E to jump behind a person who just threw a powerful skill shot at them. Talon used a measure to counter somebody's advantage by turning it into a disadvantage. I would say it's more 'trading back' or 'counter-attacking.' But if we want to place it under counterplay, we can.

That being said, I agree nobody plays the game correctly. But even those who are good at the game should be able to be punished easily when they are caught out, and should be caught out if they misposition. Yasuo has these problems a lot less since he can seize control of minion waves and exploit them and enemies for mobility, and he has ranged engage on top of being able to make it melee and nearly unavoidable.

DunkinNoobs4 votes

Believe it or not, you actually can. Yasuo's E-Q knockup is slow enough that flash or any quick dash can dodge it, leaving Yasuo SoL. GL landing an EQ on a Lucian with a brain, for example.

Also

GULAG 4 U1 votes

Okay I disagree with you on this one, It's def not hard to dodge yasuo's EQ. Come on, it's not targeted.

Melledoneus2 votes

His E is targeted. And the Q is an AoE. That's like saying Katarina's E-W isn't targeted, when it technically is.

MaxDarkwill2 votes

And Tf takes more skill than yasuo since his main ability has a shorter duration so you gotta use it correctly 10 second is too long for a tide changing ability

LankPants9 votes

It should be bumped down to at least 6, or even 5 seconds.

I'd say it should start when his Q comes off of CD and last for 3 seconds after that at most. Yas right now has the exact same problem Riot nerfed TF for way back, TF holding a Goldcard for 8 seconds wasn't healthy and Yas holding a tornado for basically the same length of time sure as hell isn't either.

They'll justify Yasuo being allowed to do it because it's a skillshot. Meanwhile, Annie...

False. TF has an AA range of 525 to get the stun off. Annie's single target disintegrate has a range of 625.

The armor pen nerf was real deal though, You are just hating on Yasuo, Alot of champions easily beat Yasuo

GayFluffyUnicorn1 votes

Stating facts is "just hating on yasuo" nowadays. Got it. Yeah a real deal when PD already gives him 60% crit. Buy a cloak and go full tank and enjoy your free armor pene. It's just y'all acting like yasuo received a gutting and major nerfs when in fact he did not. I already stated what he got. That's nothing compared to nautilus, lb, zed, azir and other champs. Those are facts, not hating. Yes i despise yasuo and you know why? Because of riots refusal to actually nerf him. He is popular for the whole season. On high playrate and good winrate. Other champs who have been fotm for 2 weeks got immediately gutted and thrown into the trashcan for the entire season yet yasuo doesn't even get a proper nerf. Good for those champions unfortunately you can't choose which champ to play into yasuo when you already picked. And every champ who does not hard counter him means you won't have a laning phase and you're better off just roaming. "alot of champs" is no reason o justify the state he is in: overloaded. plain and simple.

DunkinNoobs5 votes

Yasuo's ult is trash. Give me literally any other melee carry or bruiser ult in exchange.

40% AS and 325 auto range for 12 seconds at lvl 6? Sign me up dude. Sounds fucking metal. Oh, and it does just as much damage as Yasuo's ult, only you can use it whenever and it's magic damage.

Aatrox's ult doesn't suck m8; it's the champ that sucks. It's an absolutely fantastic ult, it's just unfortunately on a champion that doesn't have the tools to properly abuse it. Yasuo would have no such issue.

General Esdeath 7 votes

When you try to use Aatrox to prove someone wrong and they turn out to be an Aatrox main.

Ex aatrox main here too. Stopped playing him because he's a jax with lifesteal, and jax is tankier plus deals more damage. Also is less challenging to play.

It was heavily implied since you're the one that created this Yasuo QQ thread. As for the mastery, I don't play this account too much; queue times are too long from how often I afk on my worthless teams. Thank god for throwaway accounts so you don't have to put up with people's bullshit just because Riot says you have to.

Holy christ you guys simply want him deleted from this game don't you? These retarded complains are the reason Riot ain't taking the boards seriously most of the time.

SpecterVonBaren4 votes

I'd be satisfied with them firing CertainlyT for creating him and three other abominations Darius, (Reworked)Mordekaiser , and Kalista . Now that they are actually Riot GameS they can pull him from PVP games and have him work on a PVE game. He's great at making champs that feel good to play but holy crap he does not understand in the slightest how to make a champ that feels fair to play against.
