[Champion Suggestion] Preston: The Manic Mechanic (Lore, abilities, stats, and lots of quotes!)

Hey guys, GrimFreak again. I know I put a lot of these ideas on here, and don't plan to stop posting anytime soon, but I feel that you might like this one. This post includes lore, abilities, general states, and lots of quotes! Sadly, I do not have a picture at this time but will update with one soon.

Again, feel free to review/comment, any and all constructive criticisms are welcomed and accepted, (I will not get mad!).

Preston- The Manic Mechanic

Lore- Preston Technoculus was born in the industrious city-state of Zaun, The scientific capitol of Runeterra. Since a young age young Preston had always shown extraordinary potential with mechanics and hextech technologies, excelling above all others his age. He would spend hours working on all manner of contraptions, ideas, and theories, often times closing himself off from the rest of the normal world. People always spoke highly of him and predicted that he would go far in life. “So young and so brilliant” they would say This attention sort of got to Preston and swelled his ego a bit as grew older. He didn’t feel that there was a mind in all of Runeterra that could prove his equal… Then HE showed up… What was so special about this man that he could just show up to the prestigious college of techmaturgy, his school, and start getting all the attention. What about him? He was Preston Technoculus, the most brilliant mind to walk the face of Zaun, no, all of Runeterra. To make matters worse, this man was chosen to lead a team, no, THE team to operate the most coveted project in perhaps all modern history. Preston had been graciously offered a spot on the team, even to go as far as making him 2nd in charge, but he declined. 2nd was not what he did, it was not what he was born to be. He was Preston, master of the mechanical, and if they couldn’t see it, he would take his brilliance elsewhere. He hastily left the college without word or explanation and disappeared for a while. He spent the next year and a half locked away in his secluded home. What he was working on, no one knew. To be honest, a lot of people thought he had died, or perhaps left to somewhere. When he finally came out he was no longer the calm, collected Preston Technoculus that had left. That man never came back. The man who emerged had the look of a man who hadn’t slept in days. His eyes were shadowed, bloodshot, and twitchy. His hair was a mess, dirty and unkempt. His face and clothes were covered in oil, grease, and other questionable liquids. Despite Preston’s disheveled and crazed appearance, this is not what surprised people the most. What surprised people the most were the large robotic machines flanking him, the largest of which Preston was sitting on top of, controlling them with a custom control module. He jumped down from his machine and demanded to know where Viktor was, shouting at the gathered crowd like a madman, practically threatening them with his automations. They told him that Viktor had left some months ago and joined the league of Legends. He was no longer in Zaun. In his crazed state it took him a moment to comprehend what they were telling him, like he had no idea just how long he’d been locked away. He had his machine pick him up and he left Zaun immediately. He decided to join the league of Legends, to show all of Runeterra his brilliance, to make the greatest warriors the realms had to offer kneel before his innovations. If he happened across Viktor in the process, all the better. He would enjoy watching his lovely machines slowly crush him into paste and then use him to glue together various arts and crafts. Look out Runeterra, the manic mechanic is coming, and he’s bringing friends.

Appearance: Preston Technoculus is roughly 5 feet and 8 inches tall. He is not very physically built and his time in isolation didn’t help with this. He wears a black long sleeved shirt, with gray oil/grease stained overalls. Wear’s goggles but typically keeps them above his eyes, only pulling them down when he’s working on something. His hair is messy and crazy and his face is covered in dirt and grease. Wear’s black boots and gray working gloves. Carries a large customized control panel that he uses to control his automations.

Classification- Mage/Support

Attack damage: 2

Defense: 4

Ability power: 8

Speed: Moderate

Difficulty: Moderate

Strengths: Can produce a variety of different robots fairly quickly that can target different opponents, as well as keep pressure off of himself. Great at lane pushing and wiping out minions. Good at harassing enemy champions. His ultimate is useful at dealing high amounts of damage as well as keeping Preston safe and potentially carrying him to safety.

Weaknesses: Very low attack and pretty low defense Relies on his machines, doesn’t really have any other abilities besides his robots If he places a large amount of machines in short time period and you destroy them fairly quickly, it might take him a little time to produce any more

Abilities:

Passive: Master of Mechanics: Preston gains increased defense and magic resistance for every robot his has on the battelfied.

Basic attack: Preston shoots enemies with red energy that comes off of his control panel

Q: Smash bot- Preston creates a smash bot that attacks enemies automatically or can be targeted to specific enemies. This ability can be activated multiple times with a couple second separation between each activation, according to its level, allowing Preston to produce as many as 3 smash bots at a time at its highest level. Each additional robot costs more than the first

W: Aid bot- Preston lays an aid bot that roots itself to target location. This robot creates an energy field, all allies that stand in this field regenerate health at a faster rate, all enemies that come into this field are slowed and take damage over time. Enemies can target this robot to destroy it, and thus get rid of the field faster. Increasing this level increases health regeneration, damage to enemies, and improves the robot’s survivability.

E: Blast bot- Preston creates a blaster bot that shoots enemies with energy beams, dealing moderate magic damage. These robots have high damage but have low survivability. This ability can be activated multiple times with a couple second separation between each activation, according to its level, allowing Preston to produce as many as 3 Blast bots at a time. Each additional robot costs more than the first.

R: MECHANICAL PERFECTION!!!- Preston unleashes his most glorious creation! The Colossus! This mechanized killing machine crushes all nearby enemies or can be targeted to specific enemies. If activated again it picks Preston up and sets him on its shoulder. While on the Colossus Preston’s other abilities are unusable and he is un-targetable, all enemy attacks will hit the Colossus. If it is destroyed while he is on it he will fall off, taking mild damage(Potentially stunning him?). The colossus can still attack while Preston is riding on top of it. This ability could be useful to help Preston get away from a situation, or help him stay in combat longer without dying.

I like the idea behind this champion because although he is physically unable to do much, he can potentially create an army of machines and crush the opposition. Similar to Yorick but I feel that Preston is different enough to make him an interesting character. Plus, I think a rivalry between Viktor, The Herald of Machines, and Preston, The Manic Mechanic, would be a cool idea/interesting aspect to add to the game/story.
