personalized icons

i know riot offers many icons, but some people want to be a little more creative than using something that's pre-made. how about summoner's being able to have personalized icons? just upload anything you want as your icon. could be a picture of you, a cat, a potato, a car, your neighbor, anything you want really. idk maybe this isn't such a good idea but it sounds cool to me.

Riot might eventually add the ability to design your icon for some RP cost and then just take it away if you design something stupid. That way you get financially punished and they make money off the system.

This would not work because A) Tencent uses Icons as a way to make profit B) People would abuse this feature

It definitely does sound cool, but there are two huge problems.

Inevitably this will be used for sexual purposes, and while Riot has an excellent suite of reporting tools they don't want minors exposed to sexual content. This is DEFINITELY going to happen with this feature, because it inevitably happens on pretty much ALL places where users can upload their own content.

About the only way it could work would be as an opt-in feature that defaults to off, but doing so would cut ALL the profits from Riot's purchasable icon store, as it would be extremely simple to just screenshot the icon you like and upload it manually instead of purchasing it.

In short, I think the downsides (loss of income from players wanting specific icons and being willing to buy them | potential for sexual or otherwise inappropriate content) outweigh the benefits of customization.
