Which champions actually need a skin?

LoL champion skins comparison

With the latest skins in development being released on the PBE in the last week, I thought it was a good time to re-visit my list of champions who actually need skins. Looking at these upcoming skins, none of these champions were actually in dire need of a skin unlike a number of other champions. You can argue to some extent that pantheon and olaf could use these skins, but the other 3 are pretty unnecessary.

Unlike those 5 champions (who actually all have at least 1 or more good skins) these champions either have no good skins, no effect changes, up to 4 years since their last skin and more problems: Cassiopeia Evelynn Karthus Mordekaiser Swain Talon Trundle Twitch Urgot Viktor Yorick

Back to these latest releases: akali, olaf and pantheon aren't exactly the most picked champions and neither the most popular/ well known. So Riot obviously don't base their skin making efforts solely on that front, so why do these champions continue to be ignored? At least Yorick is getting a VGU, but that's about it. And it's not like there aren't loads of concepts that would work for these champions such as a certain Dragon Master Swain skin concept left in the dust for years.

Please Riot: give these champions the skins they deserve.

A lot of those champs you listed have a lot of skins already like Eve. Champs like Jihn, Illaoi and Kled only have 1.

Evelynn actually doesn't have many skins... Below the average per champ actually. And if I'm not mistaken, not 1 of them is actually good. As for the champs you listed; Jhin and Kled were only released this year. They really don't need a skin when both have solid release skins on top of that recent release (cass and viktor have been waiting 3 years). I can agree to some extent with illaoi though. It has been over a year since her release, so she should get some love; but it is debatable whether she needs one more than some of these guys...

Trundle got a constable skin 2 years ago. Also, he has special effects on his pillar on every skin. So if you include Trundle, include Zyra too. :P

True on the pillar, but that's kinda like the sword changes for shen skins; not really worth mentioning tbh. Needs one with more visual effect changes personally. Will agree that Zyra probably could use another skin though; especially considering 1/2 of her decent ones is legacy.

Cassiopeia got a full VO and texture update in 2014. So she has been changed. She does desperately need a new skin though.

Does anyone notice that swain, urgot, yorick, talon, mordekaiser, and Evelyn are all considered problem or gimped champions, they won't get new skins cause they are high on the list of champs to be reworked, and why make a skin if you're going to change the entire character?

Fair enough on those champs. Swain has been waiting 4 years, so they could have given him at least 1 decent skin at some point along the way. Talon shouldn't have been too much of a problem either, considering he last skin was a worlds skin (hardly count as skins) and the rework later this year won't be yorick level.

Zilean Hecarim Braum TahmKench Kindred and Karma

Zilean Hecarim Kindred all have quite good skins imo (Kindred slightly lacking, but she is relatively new). TahmKench got a skin this year (so not in immediate need unlike a lot of the champs I suggested) but I'll give you Braum Karma. They are on my low priority list, but compared to the champs listed in OP they're honestly pretty well off imo.
