[Champion Concept] Mor'ra, the Battlemage
There is only one champion in the League who currently empowers their sword with a form of magic to deal extra magic damage. It's everybody's favorite (and sometimes least favorite) winged angel, Kayle. The only form of raw magic I've ever seen displayed (atleast, to my knowledge) is Xerath, Ryze, and Ezreal. As a result, I think this is the perfect opportunity to release a champion who empowers their blade with pure magic. I'd like to see this happen, as this is my most favorite form of magic and combat when it comes to the fantasy genre. Meet Mor'ra, the Battlemage.
ABILITIES
[Passive] Spellbind / Spellgate
Mor'ra's basic attacks deal magic damage instead of physical damage, equal to his AD. (Note: this is obviously lowered by magic resistences aswell. Seeing as this isn't all that great of a passive [I mean, it has upsides and downsides, but generally the effect is just ignored], Mor'ra gets a second passive)
Additionally, whenever Mor'ra kills an enemy champion, he gains a brief magic shield which lasts for 2 seconds, blocking 75/125/200 magic damage. (It's a magic shield, not a damage absorbing shield).
[Q] Spellstrike | 60/70/80/90/100 Mana Cost | 9/8/7/6/5 second cooldown
Mor'ra slashes three times infront of himself, over 1.25 seconds, each hit dealing 60/65/70/75/80% of his attack damage, but applying On-Hit effects each hit.
(Note: For the range, think of
Heartseeker Strike)
[W] Spellsword | 50/60/70/80/90 Mana Cost | 17/16/15/14/13 Second Cooldown
Mor'ra infuses his blade with raw energy, causing his basic attacks to deal 25/50/75/100/125 (+20% AP) magic damage for 8 seconds. Each hit lowers the enemy's magic resistance by 5; stacking up to 5 times. Spellstrike can trigger these effects.
[E] Spellphase | 30/40/50/60/70 Mana Cost |10-5/9-4/8-3/7-2/6-2 Second cooldown Dashes to target location within 200 units. Each auto attack (does not proc with Spellstrike) grants 1 stack of Arcane Integrity. Each stack of Arcane Integrity lowers the cooldown of Spellphase by 1 second, down to a minimum of 2 seconds. Stacks up to five times.
(Note: For the range, think of Flash, but with half the effect.)
[R] Spellblast | 75/125/175 Mana Cost | 90/80/70 Second Cooldown
Mor'ra fires three consecutive blasts of pure energy, each dealing 75/100/125 magic damage to the first enemy hit. Each blast can trigger Spellsword. Once the first shot is fired, the next two shots must be fired, or the timer must run out before another spell may be cast. Movement is still available between casts. If the target hit is a monster, it will deal full damage to the monster hit, but create an explosion upon impact, dealing half the damage to enemies hit within 175 range.
(Note: for the range of the actual shots, think
Essence Flux)
Auto attack range: 125
In short, Mor'ra is a champion who deals a good amount of Magic damage, but is incapable of producing physical damage without the help of item triggers. Onto the Lore!
Correct me if there is anything wrong with the lore (if it conflicts with other parts of the current Lore):
Mor'ra graduated at the top of his class in the Arcane University. However, his career did not start smoothly. Unsure of what his profession he should master in, Mor'ra traveled around the world to find himself and his future. He was extremely skilled in the Arcane arts, but had no luck in finding his place in the world. Lecturing bored him; and other civil practices only seemed to put him to sleep. Mor'ra craved for battle, and would find it in the near future. While on a visit to the Freljord, Mor'ra ventured further into the cold world to find more civilization - something which he had been told did not exist. But evidence of a group of travellers lead him to believe otherwise. Following the trail, Mor'ra came upon a camp that was sheltered under a frozen cliff, with a man fending against blue-hooded assassins, clearly losing and bloodstained. Mor'ra made haste, and used his knowledge to dispose of the assassins quickly. As he drew to the side of the dying old man, Mor'ra listened to his last request:
"Find my daughter..." the man coughed up blood and continued; "and tell her that the legacy lives in the outskirts of a family once united.. she resides in the Institute." He gave Mor'ra his blade: a harshly styled sword encrested with a single sapphire jewel at its hiltguard. It hummed with power, clearly possessing arcane energy, and made Mor'ra feel as though he was unstoppable when he held it tight.
Before Mor'ra could ask the elder his name, or what his daughter's name was, the man died. Mor'ra set off to the Institute of War, assuming that was the place she would be. He joined the League, hoping to find the daughter of the man on the battlefield, with his new blade in hand, Mor'ra mastered the arts of empowered weaponry.
