An energy support? A VOID support? (Champ Concept)
After some thinking, I decided to address the apparent lust for a support that uses energy and the desire for a void-based support all in one go! Me myself, I've always thought it was interesting that the game didn't really contain a support with play styles other than 'Tanky guardians' or 'Pokey mages' or 'Sustain bots' SORAKA, I'M LOOKING AT YOU. I thought it'd be interesting to pick a kind of aggressive AD support. I fit this with the fact that void-based creatures aren't really as concerned with the life of other things as they are in destroying said life, and came up with this... thing.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is my first attempt at making a champion, though I've brainstormed a lot in the past, this is my first real submission. I do not claim that the numbers or mechanics on the champion are completely balanced. They may be over or under tuned. Just think of all numbers you see in this as placeholders. I definitely will consider and appreciate all types of feedback :). That being said, allow me to introduce you to...
Kil'tor, the Void Wraith
Passive - Will of the Wicked Upon death, Kil’tor will enter a dormant state for 7 seconds. In this state, Kil’tor cannot attack, move, or use abilities or summoner spells. During this time, allies can right click on Kil’tor to revive him at 25% HP. Similarly, enemies can right click on him to execute him, killing him normally. If 7 seconds pass with no enemy or ally interaction, Kil’tor will retreat through the void to the summoning platform. If Kil’tor is revived by allies multiple times before dying or retreating to the summoning platform, he will revive with fewer hp each time.
Q - Soul Rend | 9/8/7/6/5 second cooldown 40 energy | Basic attack modifier Kil’tor’s next basic attack will deal 15/65/115/165/215 (+ 60%AD) bonus damage and slow the enemy by 70% for 3 seconds, decaying over the duration.
W - Void Anchor | 20/18/16/14/12 second cooldown 60 energy | 700 Unit range, 400 tether attach range, 500 tether break range Kil’tor causes a rip in the mortal plane at the target location for 5 seconds. Any enemies caught in range will be tethered to the center, slowing them with more intensity the further they travel away from the center, capping at a 80% slow before they finally break away. While tethered, enemies take 20/40/60/80/100 (+ 6%AD) damage per second.
E - Pluck | 26/24/22/20/18 second cooldown 100 energy | 1000 Unit range Kil’tor dashes to the target location, then returns to the starting point. If he encounters an enemy at any point while dashing to the location, he will stun them and pull them 1000 units backwards from his current position towards his starting point. If an enemy is encountered on his way back to his starting point, no effect occurs. Successfully pulling an enemy will refund 60 energy.
(A brief explanation on this ability: Kil’tor will run to a target location, then back, similar to a Leblanc W but he has no choice in returning. What this spell does is pull any enemy hit on the dash TO the location back towards his initial location. Even if he only dashes 100 units, this spell will pull the target AND Kil’tor back in the direction of the initial casting location 1000 units. This means a Kil’tor player could potentially guarantee a Pluck landing by flashing towards the enemy and then casting the ability, effectively reducing both the time the dash will take to hit and the time the enemy has to react.)
Ultimate - Soul Barrier | 180/120/60 second cooldown 100 energy | 300/500/700 Unit range Kil’tor dashes to an ally. Upon reaching them, Kil’tor will temporarily revert to his wraith form and bind to his ally, causing him to become untargetable but taking 20/35/50% reduced damage in the ally’s place for 4 seconds. After this effect ends, Kil’tor will burst from the ally, knocking enemies near them back a short distance.
Before you go, check this out! Balance philosophy: While I was writing all of this out, due to his 'Pull' mechanic I was thinking a lot about Blitzcrank. A lot of people will look at this and go 'Whoa, a champion that uses energy AND has a pull? That's insanity! There's nothing to hold him back!' While that is true, please note that both this champion was made to be consistently aggressive, and that this pull has a fairly long cooldown. When playing against Blitzcrank, I think less of 'Well he has mana, he's going to hook me.' and more in a way of 'He hasn't used his hook for a while now, I know it's off cooldown, he will use it soon.' In addition to that, notice that if he misses, Kil'tor will take a HUGE 50% chunk out of his energy pool. While champions like Akali, Zed, And lee sin all have ways to restore their energy quickly, Kil'tor does not. This means that after missing a Pluck, enemies have an opportunity to do two things, the first being to counter-engage now that Kil'tor's energy is so low, nearly guaranteeing that he will either use all of his remaining energy on his two damaging spells or use it on protecting his ADC, leaving him or his ADC at a large disadvantage either way. The second option is to note that since his pull is on a whopping 26 second cooldown at rank one, you have a moment to let your guard down and catch your breath (or maybe a few cs) before you know he'll strike again.
As mentioned above, please feel free to LEAVE FEEDBACK AND QUESITONS! I'll definitely try to check out any comments. I put a while into this, so I'd totally appreciate it.
Almost immediate edit: Changed the ultimate's description to be more clear.
