Malise, The Sadistic Torturer

Okay This champion could use some tweaking but it should be good for the most part. She is a girl with a giant scythe but I don't know if she will be too cliché for Riot or not. She would be a top laner or possibly jungler. Her kit is focused around initiating team fights and being around dying units and then waiting to finish off the survivors. This is why she has so much chase potential after being around so many dying units.

Lore: Thanks Bruffin for the lore!

The city-state of Noxus is one of the most unforgiving places in all of Valoran. Its ruthless overloards see that the streets are ruled with an iron fist, and that no disobedience is ever tolerated. However bad the streets of Noxus are, the dungeons are a far worse place for one to find themselves. It is here that many people are tortured and executed for various reasons, most of which are trivial in nature. It is also here that the twisted individual known as Malise willingly makes her home.

There is some debate as to whether Malise was ever human to begin with. Born in the slums of Noxus to parents who were too busy to ever notice their daughter, Malise turned to the streets to provide her with entertainment. In amongst the sewers, she would catch rats and bring her new pets home to her parents to show them off. However, her parents, as they always had, paid no attention to their daughter. This changed the day Malise brought home a particularly large rat, begging her mother to let her keep it. Her mother dismissively told her that it was a filthy creature that did not belong in their house, and that it should leave. She did not look at her daughter until she heard a sickening crack, and looked down to see the dead creature at the feet of her daughter, who giggled happily as its body twitched.

Malise’s parents were rightly concerned in their daughter’s behaviour, but decided that the best way to treat the problem and still balance out their busy schedule was to let their daughter grow out of what they considered to be a violent phase. However, this method of treatment proved to be useless. More and more, neighbours would come to them, asking if they had seen their pet, who had always mysteriously vanished the night before. The pets would eventually turn up, beaten and broken in the back alleys of the Noxian slums. While her parents knew it was her, they said nothing, knowing that they would be shamed if anyone ever found out. This changed when Malise was 18, and a young boy from their neighbourhood went missing. Malise’s parents instantly went to the sewers where she spent most of her time. It was here that they found the missing boy, chained up but thankfully not harmed yet.

This time, there was nothing Malise’s parents could do to protect her, and she was taken to court. For the amount of crimes that she was accused of, she would have surely spent most of her adult life in prison. However, Jericho Swain, the High General of Noxus, took special interest in her case after her handiwork with animals was displayed as evidence. He convinced the judge to let her go, provided he take custody of the young girl. Her parents readily agreed, eager to get rid of the young monster who had ruined their name. Once Swain had custody of Malise, he set her up with a job in the prison, torturing prisoners of war who refused to talk until they spilled all their secrets, before slowly and painfully executing them. This job was short-lived, however, when the introduction of the Institute of War brought about the end of most conventional wars. At first disappointed, Malise soon realized that the Institute would provide her with a unique new pool of victims to test her sadistic techniques on, and swiftly applied for admittance into the League of Legends.

"She's not only the best interrogator Noxus has ever seen, she also has an extremely high amount of job satisfaction." - Swain, the Master Tactician

Stats: Health: 440 (+83) Health Regen: 5 (+0.7) Mana: N/A (uses Agony) Range: 200 Attack Damage: 52 (+3.2) Attack Speed: 0.615 (+3%) Armor: 15 (+3.5) Magic Resist: 30 (+1.25) Mov Speed: 350

Abilities: Passive: Agony:

When a unit dies within an 800 range of Malise, she gains 3 Agony and when she kills a unit she gains 5. If she is around a champion death, she gains 5. If she gets an assist, she gets 10 and a kill is 15. Agony is stored in four sections of 25 Agony each. Malise loses 1 Agony every 5 seconds while not in combat. This stops decreasing when it hits multiples of 25. For every 25 Agony gained, Malise gets a shield that blocks 30/40/50/60/70/80/90/100/110/120/130/140/150/160/170/180/190/200 (+45% Armor) Damage. This shield lasts until destroyed and does not stack. If the shield is damaged, but not destroyed, and you gain another 25 Agony, the shield will refresh.

**Q: **Deadly Slice: Cost: No cost or 25 Agony (Greater value if possible) Cooldown: 6/5.5/5/4.5/4 seconds **Range: **350

Malise strikes a target enemy and deals 40/80/120/160/200 (+ 70% Bonus AD) Physical Damage. She deals 60% of this damage to enemies in a "scythe blade" shape with the larger area of the scythe being to the right of the target. If Agony was used: Deals an additonal 3.5% (+ 1% AP) of the unit's Max Health as Magic Damage.

W: Restricting Chains: Cost: No cost for First Cast and 20 Agony for Second Cast Cooldown: 18/16/14/12/10 seconds Range: 550

First Cast: Malise throws her chains in a skillshot, if it hits an enemy, the enemy is snared by the chains for 1 second and takes 30/50/70/90/110 (+ 35% AP and AD combined) Physical Damage. The chains remain attached to the enemy for 1 second longer. If Malise leaves the range within the first second, the target is no longer snared. If either one of them leave the range during the second second, the chain is broken, increasing the cooldown of this ability by 5/4.75/4.5/4.25/4 seconds. Second Cast: Can only be cast within the two seconds the enemy is attached to the chains. Malise pulls herself to the enemy and deals 10/20/30/40/50 (+ Base AD) (+ 20% Bonus AD) Physical Damage.

E: Cost: No Cost or 35 Agony (Greater Value if possible) Cooldown: 24/21/20/19/18 seconds. **Range: **650

Malise dashes in a skillshot (like Vi's Q) and blocks the first projectile from her front with her scythe. The length of the area she can block projectiles from is 300. She deals 50/80/110/140/170 (+40% Total AD) to enemies she dashed through. It takes .3 seconds to finish the dash. If Agony was used: Enemies hit get their attack speed reduced by 10/15/20/25/30% for 2 seconds and the area blocked is increased by 150.

R: Reaper's Slash: **Cost: **No Cost, 25 Agony, or 50 Agony (Greatest Value possible) Cooldown: 170/135/100 seconds Range: 400

Malise sweeps all enemies in a half circle in front of her into the air, dealing 70/160/250 (+50% Bonus AD) Physical Damage and slamming them into the ground dealing an additional 80/115/150 (+35% AD) Physical Damage and slowing by 60% for 1 second. If 25 Agony was used: Slow is increased to 70% for 1.5 seconds. If 50 Agony was used: Malice can dash 300 units before swiping enemies into the air. Enemies dashed through are pushed to the end of the dash, but take 70% of the full damage. Slow is increased to 80% for 1.5 seconds.

Appearance: Her armor would look almost like thick black leather. She would have white hair about the length of Sivir's. She would have no colors on her at all except for traces of dried blood on her scythe.

Skins: Nurse Malise: Malise is wearing nurse clothes and her scythe looks like a giant syringe. PROJECT: Malise: (Ultimate Skin) Malise is wearing a black, silver, and orange robotic suit made in Zaun. Her scythe moves when she uses abilities. Her suit and scythe transform while she levels up.

can u explain her passive, a bit more clearly? you said she gains a shield for every multiple of 25. But it doesnt stack, so does the shield get stronger if she has a shield from 25 agony and gets to 50 with out losing the first one? Or does a new identical shield replace the old one? Also where does the 45 armor fit into this? If she loses the shield from the 25 spot, does she have to start over from 0 agony, or does she have to build the shield again, yet the agony amount doesnt change?

Also do the multiples of 25 act as buffers: between multiples, say 50 and 75 she can gain or lose agony, but doesnt decrease pass 50 once it has reached 50 and once it reaches 75 it can decrease past 75 any more, but can still increase? Or does it never decrease ever, once it passes 25?

Also what percentage of damage (or how much damage) does the shield block before it breaks, and is it active (as long as its not destroyed and you have 25 agony) forever? If it is active forever, it completely blocks all damage till it breaks, and it refreshes on every 25 agony, then do you think it is a little OP. I mean depending on how hard it is to build agony stacks, (I think it may be too easy and would suggest making it harder, unless im wrong and most likely am) . Please correct me if I am wrong

Also are agony marks used inherently, always on abilities (if already you have some agony built up) and used from the stacks of 25 that you have built up? Or can you chose whether or not to use agony? Also how much agony is used for each ability, can you chose how much, or does it use all up the nearest multiple of 25? You had a good explanation for the ult. The 50 agony is pretty good, a little on the strong side, so i might be persuaded to suggest you to increase the agony count to 75.

These are all just minor suggestions based on honest question that I have, My main goal is to gain a better understanding of your awesome character and I want to see just how awesome she can be. If you do decide to answer my questions, that could help me to understand you champion more. I only wish to help improve you champion, never to bring them down, but to help raise them.

Ok I guess I understand her agony bar now, it acts as energy or mana?, Also do you think she should be able to gain any agony from low level minions or low level monsters? Should it be that easy to fill your agony bar? Also I feel that the shield should be treated as a type of spell, where it would only use agony if destroyed (to act as a punishment for abusing the shield), if anything else happened with the shield where it took damage or it was replaced nothing would happen

Shamont11/3/2014, 12:08:35 AM1 votes

right i knew that, i was suggestion that it is used like mana? its like a resource bar, I got that ok ill look at ur champs, u gonna post all of them here?
