Hello all! First time posting here. Here is my interpretation of a Kennen visual update :) I felt that he was getting left behind so I wanted to give him some love. Perhaps Riot is already on their way to working on him, but this was a fun painting.

Also his shuriken is too big. The Japanese word shuriken (手裏剣) literally translates to "sword hidden in user's hand" His weapon in your art looks more like a chakram, especially because of the way he's holding it.

HexaDecimel8 votesThe ear length is to make him more consistent with the new design for yordles. And while I do agree that the shuriken is a bit to big, it is entirely possible that it appears bigger due to yordles being so small :p
Bergk5 votesIf he was a true ninja, he'd make the shurkens the appropriate size for himself. ;) Even if Kennen was using an adult-human sized shuriken, it still would be at least half that size.

This is helpful towards my future thought processes for my designs. I agree with it being a little on the large side. I think I messed that up by not following the old 3d proportions enough (http://www.lolking.net/models?champion=85&skin=0)
My choice to make the ears bigger was inspired from Tristana's recent update :)

I am betting that poppy will be sporting a new set after the rework and I bet teemo's will change as well eventually. Rumble and Gnar are also more in line with the new theme. Not sure what they will do with Corki, and Heimer is.....well.....he is the Donger so.....
On a side note, how would it look to have the ears not covered by his hood?
Bergk18 votesIf he did have ears that big, he'd probably use his hood to lay them back, flat on his head. Ninjas need to be fast and nimble, and ears that big would probably get caught on stuff. haha ;)

S H A Y C 03 votesNice work on the throwing thingies...but his current one is much larger than his hand, and since he is a YORDLE!!!!!!!! a completely fictional race of people that are TINY the art of having a tiny person wield a much larger weapon is not only commonplace it is accepted and being done right now on the live server..in fact, the splash art for arctic kennen clearly shows his shuriken to be about the size of a dirk or dagger when compared to his tiny yordle hands...which is larger than this hand, roughly 3 kennen paws. So...whats your point? In fact, start a game as kennen and do his emote where he throws it up in the air and catches it...it is large enough to cast a shadow on the ground.

Someone mentioned it, and yes, I made the shuriken large because of his Q. I designed a small pouch on the side of his pants to show that he does carry smaller sized ones :)

FiniteParadox224 votesI really like this in a lot of ways my only criticism would be he seems a little tall and also from my observations male Yordles typically are completely furry while their female counterparts are more humanoid in that aspect. But beyond that it's excellently done and I always love seeing Kennen getting some love.

ModThe Djinn3 votesSo...good things first. This is a fantastic Visual Update concept: it is immediately obvious who the character is, and is incredibly well executed -- even down to nice little features like the lightning bolts on his ear stripes.
Now the bad: you've gotten the porporations VERY wrong for a Yordle.
The new Yordles have heads significantly wider than their shoulders, and shorter than they are wide -- you hit the first part (although it could stand to be bigger still), but the head height/width ratio you have is much more human.
The ears are positioned lower, starting JUST above the line of the jaw -- you can see this in Gnar as well. They tend to go out to the sides more than back as well.
The entire torso is only slightly taller than a Yordle's head, whereas your Kennen's torso looks to be about a head and a half. Yordle legs are likewise short -- slightly less than a head seems to be the case for Gnar and Tristana. Arms and hands are large for the frame -- falling below the knee in Gnar and Trist, with fairly long forearms for the total length of the limb -- you have the bulk in the upper arm instead, with the hands getting narrower.
I'd also personally cut the yellow highlights from the white sections of the outfit (it doesn't show up well in-game), and drop the pockets entirely -- they're not very Ionian.
All that said though? Fantastic job. With the anatomy edits and a bit of tweaking on the outfit specifics this would be absolutely incredible.

DazedOnlooker3 votesAs someone who was a big fan a naruto in my childhood, at first sight(...okay i admit i was obsessed with it as a kid you got me k) naruto did not even cross my mind when i saw this. regardless of whether it's inspired or not i think that this new take on kennen is hella creative and has a lot of promising potential, especially since quite a few champions still have ongoing reworks being worked on (poppy). This looks well thought out and its obvious that quite a bit of time has been put into this.
Your comment reminds me of the many close-minded people i have unfortunately ran into irl who will find just one little thing no matter how small about a piece of art and its style and completely discredit and put it down because it "looks like anime" or "it reminds me of that xxxx anime, that i did not watch because its anime". Oh his eyes are a tad too big..must be the work of an anime weeabo gtfo naruto/onepeice/dbz weeabo. He's wearing edgy ninja like clothing? must be one of thoes narutard weeabo anime fans.

Also it's because you mentioned something completely pointless to the topic. As another note, this ninja is purple, where Naruto is orange. Kennen also isn't based on a fox, so there goes that point. The only connection is that they are ninja's. By this logic, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are replacements for, "Naruto Weeaboo no Jutsu."

I also like some of the designs you have under the kennen redesign if you follow the link there are ones below that look a bit better for yordle proportions.

He does look a little larger than most yordles, but I love that at least his hands look normal in this one. Original Kennen has very unyordle-like hands and feet.
