Lore Entry

To Hunt. To Kill. To Bleed. To DIE.

Allies Aatrox

Rivals Karma Udyr Evelynn

The following is transcribed from a journal page, found on the corpse of a long dead soldier found on the Ionian Isles.

He was the first; but not the only one. We were so taken by what he drove his men to, the fury with which they attacked. How they fought without fear. How they drove endlessly forward, regardless of the causalities or wounds they sustained that we did not see when she arrived. We only became aware when one of our men, who had been standing against the blows of three of their number, was suddenly split in two. In front of his body stood this...thing. This woman.

The second of the Darkin.

Eagllien.

The air stood still. Time itself seemed to pause, as if waiting for her to make a decision.

Then she laughed. Oh Goddess help me, that laugh. It haunts my thoughts every hour. It froze our blood in sheer terror, clawed at our minds. Before we could even register it, another man fell.

And then another.

And another.

She lept at a fourth man, and he in a moment of clarity caught her through the stomach with his spear. Two more men regained their senses and drove their swords through her stomach. Her body slumped to the floor.

She was dead.

Then she laughed again, and rose up, completely unharmed; splitting the spearman in half with her bare hands. All the while, shrieking that horrible, horrible laugh.

I know this will be my last entry. I can hear the shrieks of my countrymen in the forest as they die by her hands. Her relentless hunt will see our to our end. There is no warning. No stopping her.

Once you hear the terrible laughter, you are already dead.

Design Philosophy

Eagllien is designed primary as an extremely aggressive Jungle berserker; a mad woman with only one desire - to kill, and keep killing. While other hunters such as Rengar and Kha'zix rely on stealth/tactics to isolate and eliminate their prey, Eagllien thrives on the heat of battle and charging straight for her foes. She revels in the blood of her enemies AND allies, gaining benefits whenever ANYONE or ANYTHING near her dies. Suddenly attacking from the brush or the backline of her team, she wants to engage the enemy at any cost and keep fighting until the bitter end - hers or her enemy's.

Abilities

Energy Eagllien uses Energy instead of Mana; she has a total pool of 150 Energy.

Passive - Unrelenting Thirst

Everything that dies near Eagllien fuels her relentless drive for blood. Minions, monsters and Champions that die near Eagllien reduce her spawn timer by 1 second for the next time she respawns. This effect upgrades over time. Eagllien starts with 0 reduction everytime she spawns.

Unrelenting Thirst cannot reduce Eagllien's respawn timer by more than 35 seconds.

At Level 9 - Large Monsters, Champions decrease her next respawn timer by 3 seconds.

At Level 16 - Champions, Dragon, Baron reduce her next respawn timer by 5 seconds.

Q Rending Strikes 5/4/3/3/2sec CD 20 Energy 20/30/40/50/60 + (0.5 AD) Physical Damage

Active - Skillshot: Eagllien dashes a short distance forward in the indicated direction. If she connects with an enemy, she deals damage to it and the enemies immediately next to it. These attacks apply on-hit effects.

W * Blood Frenzy* 20 second CD at all levels for the active. Passive

Minion, Monster and Champion deaths provide Eagllien with 1/2/3/4/5 stacks of Blood Frenzy. Stacks up to 60 total. Eagllien loses half of her stacks, rounded down, whenever she dies.

Active: Eagllien consumes all current stacks of Blood Frenzy and gains a buff depending on the number of stacks consumed. The Buff lasts for 15 seconds.

  20 Stacks - 10% increased attack speed
40 Stacks - 15% increased attack speed, double Energy Regeneration
60 Stacks - 20% increased attack speed, double Energy Regeneration, +25AD

E Blood Seeker 10/8/6/5/4 sec CD 30 Energy 500 units Range

Active: Eagllien marks an enemy Champion with Blood. Eagllien moves faster when approaching a marked target, and dealing damage to a marked target increases her energy regeneration.

R The Hunt 150/120/90 seconds CD 100 Energy 100/200/300 + 2x Basic Attacks

First Activation: Eagllien senses all nearby enemies within 1800/2500/3200 units of herself, revealing them on her own minimap, unless they are stealthed. Instantly grants Eagllien 20 stacks of Blood Frenzy.

Second Activiation: Eagllien may activate The Hunt a second time on an enemy Champion. Doing so causes her leap into the air and come crashing down on her target, stunning them and hitting with two basic attacks, both of which apply on-hit effects. The targeted enemy is stunned for 1 second when Eagllien lands.

Match-Ups

Strong vs.

Sejuani Amumu

Junglers like Sejuani and Ammumu, who rely on mostly going unmolested during their early farming are brutalized by Eagllien because of her super aggressive, super-early playstyle.

Kalista

Eagllien has the ability to instantly jump Kalista from well out of sight and stick to her, much to Kalista's dismay.

Heimerdinger

The ability to bypass his turrets and stick to him (and gaining a buff whenever his turrets die due to Blood Frenzy and Unrelenting Thirst) makes her very dangerous to the Donger.

Weak vs.

Nunu Shyvana Nidalee

Conversely, Eagllien is very weak to having her own Jungle farmed and being challenged before she can farm or get kills and Champions like Nunu, Shyvana and Nidalee can do just that.

Azir Azir's Wall can separate her from her targets and she can't jump over it. Fancy footwork from Azir also keeps him out of range of Eagllien's ganks and deals heavy damage to her.

Lissandra Lissandra can disengage farther than Eagllien can leap, and Lissandra's Ult completely negated Eagllien's ability to do damage, leading to a swift death.

Teemo Eagllien can't attack what she can't see, and Teemo will make sure she doesn't see much.

Thanks for reading; I'll update this as I think of new ways to improve/change it.

UPDATE 1 Since I was no longer half-asleep while typing this, I went back and changed all of Eagllien's skills to be a bit more appropriate and slightly more manageable, requiring more thought and effort on Eagllien's part. In short;

  • Q is now a skillshot with a dash.
  • W no longer provides a constant buff and is instead a consumable self-applied buff with limited duration
  • E is a marking feature
  • R now interacts with W
  • Changed to a generic "Recommend Items list"

Seems straightforward enough to me, though I feel like the passive and w should have caps somewhere, otherwise if she starts snowballing there's no stopping her. I mean, late game where you can clear a heavy wave in a few moves, you could push a lane with no consequences, because if they kill you your timer's at zero and you're back in the game instantly. Maybe max out at 40% reduced death timer? Not much early game but can save your butt late game. Same with her w, just being in a wave of minions would give her up to 14% lifesteal, even if she didn't do anything, and she'd keep that indefinitely. The stacks should cap and/or decay over time.

I really like the concept, but i agree with TheEmeraldOtter, i think she snowballs too hard towards the late game. I would change things differently though. Instead of capping her death timer reduction at a percent i would cap it at a specific seconds reduction max. rewarding her more for being aggressive early by completely eliminating the death timer but leaving at least some death timer if she gets careless and stacks up deaths towards the late game. I would also cap off the move speed from her W or she could easily grow to outpace even an ulted Yi near end game

Hmm....I'm just thinking about the W AS buff when combined with item 3930 item 3931 item 3932 item 3933 . That much attack speed with an On-Hit Eaglin could be brutal.
