Ruined King Champ Kit

The Ruined King is a pretty involved in the lore of several of League's champs, the Shadow Isles peeps, and seems like he would be a pretty cool champ to have. Here's a possible kit for him, any feedback is appreciated. Model wise, I imagine something like a cross between Morde and Karthus, more royal than Karthus, but less living suit of armour than Morde. The objective of this kit is to create a melee bruiser/mage mix.

TL;DR Lore: Once upon a time there was a mage-king, wife got sick and died, went to the Blessed Isles to revive her, instead creating a corpse thing, and turning the Blessed Isles into the Shadow Isles.

Health: 540 - 1900 Health Regen: 6.50 - 18.45 Attack Range: 150 Attack Damage: 56.5 - 117 Attack Speed: 0.625 + (0 - 24%) Armour: 25.6 - 83.4 Magic Resist: 31.2 - 45 Move Speed: 345

Passive: Negation: Instead of mana or energy, RK's are completely free to cast. However, they become empowered when RK has a charge of Negation. Negation has a charge cap of (5/10/15/20), and is gained through: last-hitting minions/jungle monsters, giving 1/5 of a charge, while AA a champ/tower/epic monster gives 2/5 of a charge. Charges are also gained passively, gaining a charge every (30/20/10) seconds.

Q: Hatred: CD: (12/10/8/6/5) Range: 560/60% RK swings his blade wildly in a cone in front of him. This slows all enemies caught in the area, dealing (60/80/100/120/140) + 60% AP. Empowered Q: If RK has 5 or more charges, this ability becomes empowered, shredding (10/15/20/25/30) of the enemies MR, and giving the RK Ire, increasing his AA speed by (10/20/30/40/50)%. This consumes 5 charges of Negation.

W: Borrowed Hope: CD: (30/25/20/15/12) Minion CD: (15/12/9/6/3) Range: 1000 RK sorrows a target, reducing the damage they deal to him by (10/15/20/25/30)% for 5 seconds. If RK targets a minion or non-epic jg monster, he deals (20/25/30/35/40) + 30% AP, and heals for the damage dealt. Empowered W: If RK has 5 or more charges, this ability stuns the target for 0.25 seconds. This consumes 5 charges of Negation, and only procs when used on champs.

E: Ageless Misery: Passive: (Active when not on CD) Active: (14/12/10/8/6) Passively, RK AA deal (1/1.5/2/2.5/3)% + 1% per 100 AP, of target's max health as magic damage. Actively, this bonus is doubled, lasting 3 seconds. Empowered E: If RK has 5 or more charges, this ability inflicts King's Despair on a target, dealing DOT, (10/20/35/45/60) + 5% AP, every second for 2 seconds. RK can only inflict this while his E is active, and AA refresh the debuff, but does not stack the damage. Consumes 5 charges of Negation.

R: Queen's Fate: CD: (180/160/120) Range: (1200/1300/1400)/(400/450/500) Passive: Every point you put into RK ult increases his Negation cap by 5, up to the max of 20. RK summons the casket of his beloved Queen at the target location, dealing AOE damage. Enemies in the area take (150/200/300) + 50% of AP magic damage, and acquire the debuff, Death's Vengeance. While under this, enemies take (5/7/9)% + 1% per 100 AP as magic damage, of their max health every 2 seconds for 4 seconds. Empowered R: If RK has 10 or more charges, his ult fears enemies away from the location, lasting (1/1.5/2) seconds, and increases Death's Vengeance duration to 6 seconds. Consumes 10 charges of Negation.

Overall I feel like he wouldn't really stand out. Pretty much everyone in the game has a theme that is unique to his/her character and I'd say that the ruined king in your case would be lacking one.

I mean lets look at the shadow isles champs: Mordekaiser is an evil overlord/death-knight/animated armor(and he also used to be the metal mage of the game) Karthus is a lich and more or less a priest(of death) Thresh is a jailer(and designwise he also resembles a reaper, though only in terms of appearance, not in the lore) Hecarim is a centaur Kalista is a vengeful spirit Yorick is a grave digger and a necromancer Elise is a spider queen(also has vibes of a vampire with the whole "she gets people killed to keep herself alive"-thing) Maokai is a spooky treant (not counting Evelynn as she'll likely get a big VGU next year)

The ruined king would pretty much be just another undead :/ Sure you could argue that he is a king, but that goes for Trundle too.

Also while his ult is fitting for him,it is far too similar to Yoricks ult. I mean both are champs from the shadow isles and both summon a female undead mega-minion?

I see what you mean with a lack of unique theme, but unlike the rest of the shadow isles champs, the ruined king is motivated more by remorse, than vengeance or hate. With the exclusion of Karthus and Elise, every other shadow isles champ is motivated by revenge. Also, with his ult, it doesn't summon a minion. The casket he summons is pretty much an aesthetic, with the AOE damage of his ult being the main focus.

Uhm no,Kalista is the only shadow isles champion who is motivated by revenge. Yorick wants to stop the undead,Mao wants to bring back the life to the shadow isles,Morde wants to conquer stuff and Hecarim and thresh simply enjoy slaughtering/torturing others.

So the ruined king being driven by Sorrow really wouldn't stand out very much.

Kalista : Spirit of Vengeance Mordekaiser : Wants revenge against the Noxians, for taking his "Immortal Bastion" Thresh : Became shadow isles guy, because of people getting their revenge on him, then got his revenge on them Hecarim : Killed Kalista, making him the target of her ultimate revenge Yorick : Wants revenge on the RK for cursing the Blessed Isles Maokai : Wants revenge against the the Shadow Isles, for killing all the nature

Regardless, none of the shadow isles champs regret being shadow isles people. Yorick accepts it as a necessary evil, Karthus, Hec, Morde, Kalista, and Elise use/embrace it, and Maokai doesn't think that deeply about it. Probably. I don't know. The point with the ruined king is he doesn't want to stop the shadow isles, he just regrets ever having anything to do with it.

Morde doesn't want revenge,he wants to get back what is his, thats all.

Thresh doesn't want revenge on anyone didn't you read his updated bio?Thresh even helped the ruined king to corrupt the isles and died through its corruption.

Hecarim might be the target of someones revenge, but that doesn't mean he himself is driven by it.

As for yorick and Maokai: Just because they are enemies of the ruined king doesn't mean they are driven by revenge.

And while what you describe would put the ruined king in a unique narrative position it wouldn't really give him a unique archetype(especially since we already have another sad undead with Amumu already)
