Odd Mechanic Idea I Had

Think Shaco backstabbing mechanic but reverse. Instead of more dmg from attacking a target from behind, how about a tank with tremendous defense in the direction they are facing. Granted they will still be weaker in the back but I think you understand what I mean.

So...basically like a permanent Braum Unbreakable?

The thing with this is that he would always have that buff in a 1v1 unless you were playing something with invisibility like Shaco.

I had an idea for a juggernaut a while back that moved forward when they attacked with ramping damage. However as their damage ramped up they gained a slower and slower turning speed (Think Sion ult style). Turning would drop stacks. It was designed to be a character who moved forward in a line of destruction but fell prey to more mobile champs. They also had the mechanic of not turning when they attacked forward or to the sides.

Having sides matter only works in a 2 situations:

  1. Turning doesn't matter (Urgot)
  2. It has clear counterplay beyond champion choice. (Shaco has a CD on both his reposition and backstab meaning he can only guarantee it every so often which leaves enemies a way to play against it)

A character with a constant forward buff would always have that in a 1v1 unless their opponent has invisibility, or something specific like Sivir Q return dmg.

I think this would be very hard to play around in lane if it were a permanent effect. Perhaps let it go on cooldown after its weak spot (the back) has been attacked?
