Guesses about next Champion

So Taliyah has been released for a bit now and that means a new champ is having the go on full production (I assume) so I would like to discuss possibilities of the next champion. Assuming that the 3 reworks coming (Ryze, WW, Yorick) don't affect the next champ, here are the things that will affect who our next champ will be. I will elaborate shortly.

  1. Design Rotation (Couldn't find the right word)
  2. Lore
  3. Class Reworks

1. Design Rotation: Basically if I'm correct, the dev teams have this thing where they wont make a similar character twice as in they make a tank but wont make another for a while. Based on this we can look at the previous 10 champs and try and make a good guess. They are: Taliyah-----Mage=====Mid/Jg Aurelion Sol-----Mage=====Mid/JG Jhin-----ADC=====Bot/Mid Illaoi-----Tank/Bruiser=====Top/? Kindred-----ADC=====JG/Bot Tahm Kench-----Tank/Supp=====Supp/Top Ekko-----Assassin/Fighter=====Mid/Top Bard-----Supp/Mage=====Supp/JG Rek'Sai-----Fighter/Assassin=====JG/Top Kalista-----ADC=====Bot Sorry for that mess but if we total the classes up we get 3 ADCs, 2 Mages, 2 Tanks, 2 Fighter/Assassins and the total for roles are 2JG, 2Bot, 2Supp(counting Tahm), 3mid, and 1-3top depending on who you count. Your opinions on who fits what role would be very helpful but to summarize, My current Guess would be either a dedicated(enough) supp or a fighter. On to the next topic.

Class Reworks So I'm bumping this up because it relates to the above and is pretty brief. With knowledge of a giant class rework coming in the end of the year, the next champion may be put in with that update. As for the class to be updated, Assassins and Fighters/Divers seem to be the most favored so adding to the above info, the class most favored to be the next champ would likely be a fighter. This may be subject to change based on opinion.

Lore So now then, you survived this long so let me wrap up. If we go by lore, only 4/10 of the last 10 champs are tied to a direct place possibly due to the destruction of the lore removal of the IoW from the lore but anyways. Since the last 3 big lore events were Bilgewater, Mt. Targon, and Shurima, we can expect not too much from them any time soon. That leaves Demacia, Noxus, Ionia, That one creepy island place, Bandle City, Zaun/Piltover, Freljord, and the Void/Ithaca i believe. Unless there is going to be a Zuan and Piltover event, those places seem to be an unlikely origin for our next champ seeing with Ekko. As for the Demacia and Noxus, same with Zuan/Piltover being that their roster seems pretty solid. Same goes for the Void also. Looking at our remaining choices I think our next champ will hail from either the Freljord or Bandle City. Why?

Bandle City - We haven't had a yordle for a bit and it's about time we got another one, plus there is currently no definite fighter yordle with Gnar and Kennen being the closest there is. You can also search up the Yordle JG for more ideas.

Freljord - Those guys and gals could really use a lore event or update cause in my opinion, their lore's are a mess and need more clarity. Heck I hear more about Yorick than I do of Olaf and Lissandra. Sejuani is barely remembered with Braum and a few other Freljordians barely tying in together aside from their common homeland.

So to summarize, I think next champion is likely to be either a fighter, diver, or assassin coming from either Bandle City or the Freljord. So what are your thoughts?

I'm guessing it's a Piltover champion because of the hints dropped about Piltie stuff from WAAARGHbobo on what Jhin's up to.

I personally hope for a tank in top or jg.

I wouldn't say Taliyah is a mid/jungle champ. Currently she is played pretty much on every position(except adc) and jungle is her worst position. She is more likely to end up as mid/support

Also I wouldn't say Freljord needs such an event. They had one already and while it didn't give us a story,it did establish the place a lot,so other states(like Bandle city) could need the event more than the freljord.

Just gonna throw my two cents in here, I think there are two possibilities for the next new champion release. Since they just released two AP mages in a row, chances are, we're not gonna be seeing a new mage for awhile. All things considered, I think the next new champion to come out with either be an AD fighter, or a pure tank.

For the fighter, it's been awhile since we've had a new bruiser enter the ring. A top lane bruiser like MonkeyKing, Irelia or Renekton hasn't been seen in awhile. The last fighter-class champion to be released was Rek'Sai, and she's designed to be a jungler. So I agree that a diver or bruiser will be a likely next choice for a champion. I don't know where they would come from, but probably from a place that doesn't have a lot of bruisers to their name.

As for a tank, the last time we had a pure tank released was Zac....and that was in 2013 I believe. Tahm is certainly a tank, yes, but he was designed to fit the support role, not top or jungle. That means it's been three years since we've had a new pure tank, not counting reworks (Poppy), so I think it may be very safe to say we're due for a new tank.

The only reason I don't believe we'll have an assassin next is because I believe the assassin class is due for a class update like the mage and juggernaut reworks for later this year. If Riot has a new assassin in the works, that may be when they plan to release it.

It's most likely a Zaun Piltover champion. Hints from Bilgewater and Jhin's next contract. Graves and TF are heading there to get graves a new gun, meanwhile Jhin's said himself he had a contract in Zaun. I could very well see the duality in the story, if it came. Switching from Piltover to Zaun with the incidents happening there. It's just my hunch, i could be wrong. Be clues point to there. Also, Gangplank's new arm.

I guess they are reworking yordles lore, a comment on kennen about him being very old and how poppy lore describe her as a sort of ancient begin(she may be hundreds years old). Maybe they will do an event for then.
