Will We Ever have a Champion like Janemba from Dragon Ball Z?

At least, his first form? I like the idea of a Tahm Kench/Gragas-like bruiser that can warp reality and create his own minion wave.

Well, I mean we have Malzahar with those annoying crabs that he seems to spawn like 5+ almost instantly and constantly. And those are already annoying as hell to deal with what with their speed and shit hit boxes unless you're using the auto move attack. Their hitboxes are so small that I end up clicking the ground under them and move instead of attack, leading me to getting bombarded by all of them PLUS the normal minions. Add that in with Malzahar's silence and AoE attacks plus DPS it gets bothersome to try and trade when you have his army plus him attacking and can't hit anyone because you can't get close enough. :| Not to mention his shield...which is like bending reality so he's not in this reality (kinda).

Anyways, didn't mean to turn this into a rant about Malzahar and how I think his minions need a better hitboxes and less minions summonable early on....

Now, this is just me saying that while the idea is cool it can lead to problems much like what I just described. At least problems I personally have. Those who are good at countering Malz probably don't have this issue.

If someone were to create something like this I would suggest something like sources across the map (much like crystals for Skarner and Chimes for Bard) where he can click them or use an ability on them (like Zyra) to summon his minions. If it's a clickable I'd do something like Skarner personally where they are around the map, and it's his passive. So he can click on it and every couple seconds a minion will come out and follow the minion path. This effect will last as long as he stays within a certain area. Leaving the area will turn off that resource and put his passive on cooldown.

That's what I'd personally do for the whole minion wave. So as to give it some balance and stipulation to working. These minions he summons would of course be stronger than average minions, look like mini hims (or something similar).

As for reality warping I would probably do something where his abilities set up "Zones" which do certain things for a set period of time, and his ultimate would create a larger area of effect for these abilities (much like how Heim uses his ult to boost his abilities).

For example. One Zone, let's say his Q, goes something like this: Creates a 600 unit area within a 800 unit cast range for 6s. While inside this area insert the name of the champion here gains bonus damage against enemies while he remains inside this Zone.

Or something like that. So, his ultimate would be something like this: Increases power of the next Zone ability cast.

So if he casts his Q after his ult the Q would be enhanced to something like this: Radius increases to 1000 and lasts for 10s. Increased bonus damage within this area for the duration against all enemies.

Or something similar.

That's how I personally would do it.

So i'm not against the idea or anything, but it would take a bit of fine tuning to do properly without being too strong.

I was thinking about having his minion ability be some sort of toggled spell that is channeled and immobilizes him for the duration, but allows him to take control of a rather large and durable quantity of tiny clone minions. He is completely vulnerable when doing this and it would have a range that would make have to be nearby. It could also eat up a considerable amount of mana, much like Karthas' aoe.

The idea being that if he was ahead, it would be difficult for certain champions to deal damage to him while dealing with his minions, assuming he built tanky.

The whole thing with any minions or summons in large quantities is getting the balance right. How durable are we talking here? Do they last as long as his mana lasts? How much damage do they do? What do they prioritize or does it follow an ALT + click method after activating the channel? How do the summons scale? Is there a limit after a while and does it just cost mana after reaching that limit to sustain them?

If the durability is too high and the rate at which they spawn is relatively high, let's say 1 ever 0.5s then that can get overwhelming and no matter the damage a champion has they will not be able to get close due to the onslaught on this durable swarm. Especially if they deal decent damage.

It's all about getting the balance right.

After reading what you said about what you imagine for the ability I've come up with something like this off the top of my head.

Divide and Conquer Upon activation they become stationary and begins to channel. During the channel they spawn a clone of themselves every second upon to a max of 2/4/6/8/10 or 5/7/10 (this limit scaling if you make it the ult). Initial cost of 50 or 100 Mana (100 if ult) and an additional 5/10/15/20/25 or 25/50/75 mana per second (the 3 set scaling if it's the ult). Lasts until they die (the champion) or if they run out of mana. Clones have a max range of 600-1000 units radius (this variable is because 1000 may be too huge a range and this gives you some room to work in) centered on them (the champion).

These clones prioritize champions who attack them. If multiple attackers are present, focuses the highest damage dealer to them. Can also be controlled with ALT + Click.

So, that's like a rough draft. Numbers can be tweaked.

Now, depending on if you made it the ult or a normal ability would decide how strong they should be. If it's a normal ability it should be weaker. So, I'd do roughly low/medium health, low damage, medium speed, low/medium resistances. As an ultimate you could get away with Mediumish health, medium damage, medium speed, and medium resistances.

Being an ultimate they can be relatively stronger since it's a higher cost to maintain, but since they still come in large numbers it'd be bad to make it any higher. Though I've been told to that it's easier to start weaker and then work your way stronger should the consensus be that it's too weak.

And if they scale, and don't have their own stats and your champion is going to be more of a tank with emphasis on mana then I would suggest possibly scaling their health with yours. For example 20% of your max health. So at 4000 health they would have 800 health. Pretty decent (maybe a bit too high, but anyways) since you can have up to 10 of them. Then, have their resistances based of of your mana. So they would have like 5-10 Armor and Magic resist for every 50-100 mana you have or something.

Their damage could be just flat damage that scales with level or something.

All in all it's your champion you can make. These are simply ideas I'm throwing out there for you to use if you want. My imagination loves to run wild and create things.

So in the end as I said it's all about how you balance it, but you should make a concept for this. See what you come up with and post it to the boards. While some can be outright toxic you can get rather amazing feedback, but don't let the bad feedback that is critical put you down. Not sure how long you've been creating concepts or if you have at all, but just some friendly advise. Never give up. Just use what you learn to better yourself.

Sorry for rambling, I tend to do that when I get going. Apologies.
