Lore- There once was a man by the name Gregory Higgins. Growing up Gregory had always been a lonely child. Born into a family without wealth, barely surviving as they scraped a living. He had trouble with friends and other children would make fun of him because of his ratty clothes and impoverished family. Young Gregory made a habit of collecting coins, but this didn’t help much when his parents would always take the money. His misfortune continued into his adult life, where he was forced to labor in a rather questionable Zaunish factory just to pay for his daily bread. He was still fascinated with coins, and collected them whenever he could get a chance. It took years, but he had finally collected enough money to buy himself out of his contract. He took his coins into his boss and asked to be released from the factory. His boss told him that would be fine and that he was free to go. Gregory left, feeling a weight lifted. For the first time in his life he felt his life was going to improve. Secretly, however, Gregory’s boss stole his money and later had him arrested for running out on his contract. As he languished in prison, Gregory realized he had finally had enough. He was tired of being taken advantage of, tired of living this life poverty. When Gregory was finally released, he began to research the ways of magic, becoming almost obsessed with finding a way to fix his problems. For a while this proved fruitless but, eventually, he stumbled upon something that he found very interesting. There was a book that spoke of a ring that could grant you what you desired most in life. The ring was apparently kept in a long forgotten temple somewhere deep within the Shadow Isles. Gregory had heard stories about the Shadow Isles and knew that anything from there was most certainly tainted with evil. He also knew that it was worth it. Anything, anything at all, was worth getting him out of his impoverished and unfortunate state. He immediately made plans and left for the Shadow Isles. When Gregory arrived he had never seen a place so dark, a place so disconcerting. The place dripped with malice and evil intentions. Despite all this, he made his way without pause or incident, and remarkably found the temple with little effort, as if the Shadow Isles could sense his desire… And were somehow guiding him. He entered the temple, and there it was, plain as day. The ring, the ring he had been searching for, the ring he needed to solve all his problems. It hung there, suspended by an unknown power, calling to him. He could feel reason slip away as he obeyed the ring's hypnotic power, slowly walking towards it. He reached out his hand as if to lay hold of it, and the ring shot at him with such lightning speed that Gregory couldn’t help but call out in surprise. The ring latched itself onto his finger and he could feel the dark power pouring into him. He writhed in pain as wave after wave of magical power forced its way through him. He blacked out. When he woke, he was back in his boat. For a moment he thought it had all been a dream. He knew it had all happened though when he looked at his hands. The ring was there, but that’s not what concerned him. His skin… was green. What’s more, he could feel something inside of him. A gnawing hunger, an emptiness that needed to be filled. It pained him to the point of madness. He ventured back towards civilization, intent to seek out and collect all the world had to offer, to fill this hole with everything that shined. With the power of the ring at his disposal, all would be his.
“Gregory? Who’s Gregory? The name’s Greed… I like that sword…” -Greed, spoken to Garen
Appearance- Greed appears mostly human in nature, though the part of him that was once man is now gone. His is roughly 6 feet and 2 inches tall. He has longer than normal arms and his hands hang nearly to his knees. His skin is a deep, sickly green color and appears dirty or slimy. His hair is a darker green and is unkempt and dirty looking, covering his face slightly on one side so his right eye is seen but not his left. He wears a dark green business suit that is very slightly lighter than his hair, with dark green shoes, a green tie, and a white dress shirt with golden cufflinks. Wears a black belt with a golden buckle, has a gold ring on his right hand, a golden chain that goes across the inside of his suit, over his tie, that is attached to a golden pocket watch inside of a pocket of his suit. Carries a dark green cane with a gold handle.
Cassification- Mage
Attack damage: 3
Defense: 3
Ability power: 9
Speed: Moderate
Difficulty: Not really sure, probably a high. I think Greed would be a difficult champion to master because of his unique playing style. It would be challenging but I feel that people would find it interesting and fun.
Strengths: Gains gold at a slightly higher rate than other champions Decently fast movement speed Able to escape conflict, has a couple abilities to aid him getting away
Weaknesses: Greed relies on his ability power, running out of mana creates vulnerability A lot of his abilities require an additional gold payment, making him different and perhaps more difficult to use
ONE THING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT GREED IS THAT HE IS A SLIMY, MANIPULATIVE, SCHEMING CREATURE. HE IS PHYSICALLY WEAK AND RELIES HEAVILY ON ABILITY POWER. IF ENEMIES GET CLOSE TO HIM THEY WILL HACK HIM DOWN, THAT IS WHY MOST OF HIS ABILITIES KNOCK ENEMIES AWAY OR STUN THEM OR HEAL GREED. HE IS FAST/AGILE AND CAN USUALLY SLIP AWAY FROM A SITUATION.
Abilities: Passive: Deep Pockets- Greed receives bonus gold slowly at a continuous rate. I know bonus gold is a risky ability and could create an unfair advantage, but please think about it. A way this ability could be offset is by having his other abilities require small amounts of gold.
Basic Attack: Greed fires bolts of green energy at his targets from his cane, if his targets are close to him, he hits them directly with his can instead. Both do the same amount of damage.
Q: Emptiness- Greed fires a green orb at target enemy, dealing moderate magic damage over time. Greed absorbs half the health taken this way.
W: Overwhelming Power- Greed becomes overwhelmed with power, blasting the area around him with green energy, dealing moderate amounts of magic damage and knocking enemies away from him. If an enemy champion is killed this way, Greed collects bonus gold.
E: Waves of Avarice- Greed sends a wave of gold coins crashing in target direction. Enemies hit by this are knocked up, take magic damage, and are temporarily stunned. If Greed kills an enemy champion with this he receives bonus gold.
R: Manic Obsession- Greed’s obsession consumes him, reducing cool down of all abilities for a short time period and increasing his movement speed.
