Champion concept - Gemini -The Twin Mage (tentative)

i had an idea for a mid-range mage champion which hangs on the balance between Order and Chaos (it was light and dark at first, but i feel like Kindred's visual took that spot already, even though its not really her concept). i called him Gemini because he has a split personality, one which is the Chaos and the other one is Order but i'm sure someone can pick a more fitting name for him.

This champion is unstable, and as he uses his skills, he switches between his Chaos and Order sides. as such, he has 2 sets of skills, one for each side. But, unlike other champions with two sets, who has separate cooldowns for each skill, this one shares his cooldowns between the sets. the idea of this champion is to be able to combo his abilities while switching stances.

i also have an idea for his lore: there were two twins who lived together in Ionia, in a temple in which they learned the ways of the Order as monks. From an early age they had shown great potential in magic and they grew up using their powers to help other people and keep order in the villages near the temple, and their names were known throughout the land as powerful monks. on the battle between Noxus and Ionia, they fought together to protect the area around them and the temple, which was overrun by Noxian soldiers. during the fight , one of the twins was severely wounded and the other one was captured and brought to Noxus. after healing, he went to Noxus, to free his brother and after a long search, he found him in a laboratory. When he found him, the brother was corrupted from experiments and torture and was in complete madness. when he tried to free him and escape, his brother started to attack him, and without much choice, he had to fight his brother, and during that heated battle, they started destroying all around them, and the laboratory was in a complete chaos. suddenly, they hit a device and made it overload. and with a sudden explosion, they were fused together into one body, becoming Gemini.

That's the basic idea for the lore that i thought of. i'm sure more talented people could write the story better, but i think i did decent enough.

As for his skills, the idea is that when he uses a skill, lets say Order skill, his Order side gets weaker, and so his Chaos side takes charge. and when he uses a Chaos skill, the opposite occurs. because he is very reliant on comboing his skills and spamming them to be really effective, he has his passive to help him out with that. the Order skills are ment to be more on the "buffing" side, and the Chaos skills on the "debuffing" side, so the strong CC skills are on his Chaos side, while on the Order side his skills have more utility for Gemini. also, Gemini doesnt have an ultimate ability, and instead has 4 basic abilities like Udyr (well, 8 because its 4 for each side).

Passive: Unbalanced - each time Gemini hits with a spell he receives 10% cooldown reduction on his abilities for 8 seconds and his mana costs are lower by 10%. this effect can stack up to 5 times.

now, this might seem OP, with the fact that he can also get 45% CDR with items, BUT, this passive effects his cooldowns AFTER the calculation of the normal CDR. and also, the 10% buff is also affected by CDR (like with Taric's new passive). this means, that with 0% CDR he can get to 50% CDR on his abilities with 5 stacks from his passive. but with 45% CDR from items, it means his abilities are on 55% of their normal cooldown values, and from that, it gets lowered by 50%x55% = 27.5%. so, his cooldowns will be (1-0.275)x0.55 = ~0.4 = 40%. so, with no CDR Gemini can get to 50% CDR. and with 45% CDR from items and masteries, he can get with his passive to 60% CDR, so stacking CDR actually gave him only 10% extra CDR, which makes it not that effective.

Q:

  • Order: Force Wave - Gemini sends outwards a wave in a cone that increases in size as it travels, damaging and revealing enemies it hits.

  • Chaos: Chaos sphere - Gemini sends out a ball energy which travels in a straight line, damaging all enemies in its path. if it hits an enemy champion it explodes in an area, damaging and slowing all enemies hit.

W:

  • Order: Tranquil armor

    • passive - spells that hit an enemy gives Gemini increased movement speed for several seconds. this effect only apply in Order form.
    • active - Gemini dashes a short distance in a direction, gaining a shield. if he collides with an enemy champion, he stops dashing and instead knock the enemy back.
  • Chaos: Corrupted armor

    • passive - enemies that hit Gemini with basic attacks are slowed briefly. this effect only apply in Chaos form.
    • active - Gemini protects himself for a brief time from the next damaging ability or attack. if he is hit while the shield is active, he instead block that damage and dashes backwards, leaving an afterimage of him where he stood. that afterimage is then disappear in a cloud which blinds enemies in its area.

E:

  • Order: Light speed - gemini targets a place in an area around him (in around the radius of the range of Velkoz's R) and after a windup he teleports to that area, knocking back all enemies around his arrival point, and gains increased resistances for several seconds. this ability can be interrupted if Gemini takes damage from champions during the windup.

  • Chaos: Corrupted spike - Gemini summons a spike from the ground, which stuns and damages enemies it hits for 1 second. after 1 second, the spike explodes, slowing and damaging any enemy hit.

R:

  • Order: Judgement - Gemini throws a spear in a straight line, witch stops on the first enemy hit. if it hits a champion, it connects him to the spot he got hit, and after 2 seconds the enemy champion is teleported back to that spot.
  • Chaos: Overload - Gemini summons a sphere in a targeted area, which after a brief delay emits a pulse of damage around it every second for 3 seconds. each wave is bigger than the last and the last pulse stuns all enemies it hits for 1 second.

as you can see, this kit has quite a bit of Crowd Control and utility for Gemini, and therefore his abilities doesnt deal much damage. he is not ment to be a burst mage, but a sustain damage which brings a lot of disruption for the enemy team. i would like to know what you guys think of this kit. *i tried to put some pictures i made in Paint to give you an idea on how the skills should look like, but i dont know how.

I feel like the difficulty level would be a combination of rumble, trying to keep your alignment where you want it and having to sacrifice using an ability for another one because one ability will say throw you over into chaos instead, and lee sin having to constantly recognize the state your abilities are in. If he was mainly in order form and then when he dealt enough damage (kind of like gnars rage) he switches over to chaos where his abilities have more impact but the form only lasts a short time. Having two equally strong halves would make him extremely difficult and frustrating to play. Save the knock back for the chaos side and the poke/ escape for the order side. He would still be unique and fun while removing the extremely difficult aspects.

Just my thoughts.
