Name: Thales Archaelus Faction: Ionia Age: 19 Gender: Male Weapon: None

Appearance:

Stats:

HEALTH 580 – 2000 ATTACK DAMAGE 25 – 75 HEALTH REGEN. 5.4 – 14.8 ATTACK SPEED [*] 0.625 (+0% – 23.1%) QUINTESSENCE 0 – 100 ARMOR 22 – 82 QUINTESSENCE REGEN. 0.0 – 0.0 MAGIC RES. 30.0 RANGED 625 MOV. SPEED 340

Playstyle: Thales the Aether mage is meant to be a near no cooldown spell caster that uses his spells like they where Auto Attacks using the element known as Aether to inflict high sustained magic damage to his targets with a decent mix of AoE and single target damage. Using Aether, Thales must choose between having high mobility, high CC or high damage or be a 'jack of all trades' mixing the three but never having much of any. Aether is meant to be a strong duelist with good support for his team.

Abilities:

Passive: Quintessence Thales Uses a magic source known as Aether, the fifth element, the element that binds all things together and holds the stars in place and allows the planets to orbit. Thales starts with 0 essence and gains essence as he casts his spells, Thales himself as well as all enemies within 1000 units of Thales are slowed by 50% of Thales current essence level upon reaching 100 Quintessence all enemies within 1000 units of Thales are stunned for 1 second and Thales himself is stunned for 1.5 seconds. Thales abilities apply a stack of Aether on enemy targets that are effected by them, there are no max stacks and stacks decrease by 1 per second after not gaining a stack for 1 second. Thales begins to lose Quintessence after not casting an ability for 2.5 seconds, decreasing at a rate of 20 per second.

Q Aether Sting; Cool down: 2; Increases Quintessence by 10 each cast Aether sting is not effected by CDR however the CD is decreased by increasing attack speed, at 2.5 attack speed the cool down of Aether sting is .5 seconds. Thales targets a unit within 624 range inflicting instant damage to that target dealing 30 / 70 / 100 / 150 / 180 (+ 60% AP) magic damage and 5 / 10 / 20 / 35 / 50 (+80% Bonus AD) physical damage, applying on hit as well as on spell effects. Life steal and crit only apply to the AD portion of the spell.

W Shift; Cool down: .5/.4/.3/.2/.1; Increases Quintessence by 15 each cast Thales uses Aether to blink himself a very short distance of 125 units (The same range as the shortest Auto Attack distance)

E Aether Field; Toggle; Increases Quintessence by 15 per second Thales creates a field of Aether circling around and towards him. Enemies that are moving away from Thales within 1000 units are slowed by 15/20/25/30/35% (stacking multiplicity with his passive) and allies moving towards him within 1000 units have their movement speed increased by the same amount. Enemies gain one stack of Aether per second the are effected by this slow field.

R Aether Break; Cool down: 0; Consumes all 100 of his Quintessence Thales can only cast Aether break while he himself and enemies within 1000 units are effected by his Quintessence stun and he must have 100 Quintessence. Aether break deals 5 true damage per stack of Aether the enemy has and frees them and himself from his Quintessence stun.

I was just wondering, why would only one of his moves consume quintessence if he gets his power from quintessence? Wouldn't mean he pretty much has no costs to his moves? I think it would be more reasonable for his moves to consume quintessence and award more if they accomplish something correctly, rather than simply giving it. I understand he is supposed to be a more mechanical Champion, but to not have any real limit to keep him from doing what he does, whether it be from cooldowns or costs, would devoid him of little risk. Normally champions like this would use energy. And in case you think Katarina is in the same fishing boat, i understand she has no costs, but even her cooldown reduction has a catch before she can obtain it.
