Champion Concept: Genisys, the End
Genisys, the End
Who or What is Genisys?
Genisys is a full on assassin that excels at exposing weak links in the enemy team and eliminating them. Genisys’ kit is well suited for 1v1 duels, which makes him an excellent choice for mid lane. Genisys mainly focuses on wearing down his opponents from afar before dashing in and executing them. I personally didn’t want Genisys to be the typical melee assassin, and so I’ve worked to give him abilities with a range advantage instead of simply giving him a skillshot. Mainly his Q, which can still be utilized even if its first strike missed, forcing opponents to still be wary. Also, I wanted him to be especially useful in teamfights with his ultimate and E. Finally, I didn’t want Genisys to be easily defeated as some other assassins. I wanted to give him the chance to walk away from a fatal battle, like Aatrox, but I didn’t want a cooldown, and so if he is to truly to be “unending,” he is going to have to have limitations so that he’s not OP. Just make sure you’re not alone when fighting him.

Passive: Unending
Upon death, Genisys can launch his blade in the direction of the cursor with the activation of one of his spells. The first champion struck will be damaged upon being chained and will be slowed. After 2 seconds, the target is stunned for 2 seconds as health is drained to restore 10% of Genisys’ max health. Afterwards, the two are free. The chain can be broken by another enemy champion passing through, if the target flashes/walks around a wall (unless blade is thrown through the wall), and crowd control spells. While Genisys is reviving himself, he and his target are invulnerable and immobilized, but any crowd control spells on Genisys, chain-breaking interruptions, or even the target dying will cause the restoration to be halted and Genisys to survive on what he’s drained.
50 True Damage upon being chained (scales w/Lv; cap at 200) 30% Slow inflicted 10% Health of Genisys Max Health drained from target (True Damage)
Q: Relinquish/Retract
Relinquish targets an area or unit, and then Genisys takes his chain in hand and whips it, dealing damage in a line to all enemies, and dealing more damage to enemies struck by the blade and its AoE. The blade then remains on its target or in the ground and the spell becomes Retract, which can be reactivated to damage and slow enemies hit in its path on its way back to Genisys. Note that the spell is automatically activated when Genisys walks out of range. The cooldown of the spell is reset if Genisys simply walks over and retrieves the blade himself.
40 (+10%AD) Damage dealt by Chain 80 (+50%AD) Damage dealt by Blade 60 (+15%AD) Damage dealt by AoE 70 (+25%AD) Damage dealt by Retract 20% Slow inflicted by Retract Cooldown of 10s at Lv1, 5s Maxed without CDR Mana Cost: 40 Range: 600 Units
W: Soul Chain
Passive: Increases Attack Speed and gains stacks of Soul Chain with each unit he kills.
Active: For a 4/5/6 seconds, Genisys loses a small portion of Attack Speed and consumes the stacks of Soul Chain. In exchange, Genisys gains additional Attack Damage and Attack Range for each stack consumed as attacks holding the chains instead of the handles. The duration of the spell is increased by 1 second for each unit he kills.
Attack Speed increased by 5% (cap at 10%) Stack increases Attack Range and Attack Damage by 1% Max Stacks = 25 Ability lasts 4s (Maxed at 6s) Ability duration extended by 1s with each unit kill Cooldown of 20s at Lv1, Maxed 15s without CDR Mana Cost: 80
E: Deadlock
Genisys sends out his chained swords in a directional skillshot, and upon the first unit hit, damages and ensnares the unit, immobilizing them. Upon reactivation, Genisys rips out his blades and dashes to the target, removing the snare and dealing a small portion of bonus damage.
60 (+7%AD) Damage when hit 20 (+5%AD) Damage upon dash Snare lasts 2s at Lv1, 4s Maxed Cooldown 15s at Lv1, 10s Maxed without CDR Mana Cost: 70 Range: 800 Units
Ultimate: End of the Line
Genisys unleashes his chained blades in a single line at the target champion, severely damaging them. Upon collision, the blade splits and draws in any and all foes to the original target, damaging them. The original targeted champion takes bonus damage for each enemy drawn in upon being hit.
150 (+50%AD) Damage upon hit 50 (+30%AD) Damage to surrounding targets 2%AD (Max 4%AD) as Bonus Damage to Target Champion for each Enemy drawn Cooldown 100s at Lv1, 70s Maxed without CDR Mana Cost: 100 Range: 900 Units

Lore: The Beginning of the End Long before the time of kings across Runeterra, a stranger shrouded in mystery and myth protected the land itself from invaders. Immortal, he had no fear of death. And so, Genisys lived in peaceful harmony with rare nature, protecting its boundaries from the filth of mankind. Skilled in wielding twin blades which he fashioned together with chains. Intimidating and dangerous, the deadly protector warded off explorers and adventurers, keeping the soil pure and untouched. Unfortunately, the humans became smarter and grew in numbers, and all the more treacherous. This caused Genisys much grief as he, a lone protector, could not save all of his home from the growing evil that surrounded him. And so years continued to pass with little by little slipping away until their expansion halted. As Genisys found relief, he found fear, for the two kingdoms of Demacia and Noxus went to war at each others throats. Sitting in between the Howling Marsh and Marshes of Kaladoun, Genisys was not safe. He awaited for the moment in which his land and all that was within would burn to ashes. Yet, that day did not appear, until one fateful night. Genisys discovered a lone soldier camp that had taken refuge within his land not far from the border line. Seizing the opportunity, Genisys crept in and robbed them of supplies to halt discourage their journey and silenced the main watchguards. Then, sneaking along the tents of sleeping soldiers, Genisys came along a larger, more decorative tent, and concluded it must be the general’s. Without a word or sound, Genisys gently slipped inside with his chained scimitars drawn. Stepping closer to the sleeping general, he realized the giant resting mere feet away from him was none other than Sion himself. A wave of fear and anxiety chilled Genisys and caused him to shiver. Refocusing on the task at hand, he silently closed in on the sleeping titan. Preparing his blade for the final blow, the beast’s red eyes, flew open as the blade drew closer to his throat, and in an instant, Genisys was thrown across the room by his massive arm. Recovering, Genisys stood up and gazed upon the burly monster towering over him. Taking an offensive stance, he watched as Sion drew his mighty axe from behind, the bloodstained metal gleaming in the candlelight, and then he made a swift dodge out of the way as Sion reared for a massive strike. The axe drove itself deep into the earth and a powerful aftershock followed, causing Genisys to stumble, but not enough to where he could evade another swing from Sion, tearing open the tent. Taking the battle where he was not limited to small quarters, Genisys took steps back, breathing rapidly with his majestic swords drawn. He then watched in horror as Sion bellowed and began charging at him. He ran away to find cover, but it was to no avail as he was slammed into the nearest tree. Attempting to stand, he saw soldiers gathering inr over to aid their general. Apparently, Sion had noticed as well, because there was a violent “No! He is mine!” that echoed from the darkness. Looking back, the soldiers scampered away like scared mice. Regaining balance and confidence, Genisys prepared to face Sion once more. “So you’re the one they call the Guardian,” he said. “That was a nasty trick you tried to pull earlier. Unfortunately for you, I cannot be killed.” “We’ll see about that,” Genisys replied. “You’ll be the biggest fool to think that I cannot kill you.” Raising his axe, Sion took another giant swing at Genisys, who vaulted upon trees to dodge and then launched one of his blades in return, embedding itself in the titan’s chest. Laughing, Sion grabbed the chain and dragged Genisys down with it into the ground. Genisys then cast his other blade out towards Sion. As expected, Sion attempted to block the incoming sword with his axe, but instead, its curved shaped caused it to change directions and coil itself around the handle, which then was slammed into the earth when Genisys whipped the chain. Growling, Sion retrieved his weapon and charged at Genisys, who whipped the chain once more while performing a flip off one of the trees. Sion was caught off-balance, and Genisys landed square on top of him, and then pushing off retracted his blades knocking down the giant with a thunderous thud. Dazed, Sion slowly tried to stand, grabbing the handle of his axe for support. Not wasting the opportunity, Genisys charged at Sion, ready to bring the final blow. Suddenly, Sion roared with surprising speed and energy, and once again, Genisys was thrown back by the sheer force and brawn of the beast. Swimming in and out of consciousness, he felt light and heavy all at once, noticing when his vision became clearer he was being held by Sion, not four feet from the ground. “You are the biggest fool,” he said. “That was the oldest trick in the book.” All Genisys could do in response was groan. Waiting for the end, he prepared for any kind of harsh metal to pierce his heart, and end his life. But then, he realized the importance of his life. Hs purpose: to protect the land. With newfound strength, he struggled free from Sion’s grip and tumbled to the ground. Unarmed, he was clearly outmatched, but he was ready to give his life for his home. But then, Sion did something truly unexpected. From behind, he brought out a rune marked with exotic symbols. But before Genisys had any time to examine it, Sion slammed his fist into it, which was followed by a loud crack! “I was hoping to save this,” he said grinning. “But it seems you stand in my way between death and glory, and I will not lose to the likes of you.” And with a swift movement, he hurled the broken stone at Genisys. Unknown of the true potential and purpose of the rune, Genisys merely ducked and let the projectile fly over his head, and began to walk toward Sion. Lucky for him, he found his scimitars resting behind some nearby brush. Suddenly, there was another loud crack! and nature itself seemed to be thrown out of balance. Gravity seemed to change, trees groaned and splintered, the wind rustled and howled violently, dramatically reducing Genisys’ pursuit. Taking a quick glance, he noticed the tear in space that led to the dark abyss, the Void. Horrified and unable to escape the fierce pull, Genisys managed to at least retrieve his weapons, now having a better chance of surviving this inevitable doom. Taking what little time and strength he had left, Genisys casted out his twin swords to help pull himself away from the graviton field of the dimensional rift. Striking the ground, his blades ensured his escape, providing a strong hold that wouldn’t fail. At least until Sion drew closer and stood between him and his only hope of life. The pull from the portal grew ever stronger, and Genisys noticed the very earth itself being swallowed up inside, and he felt light once more as his body was no longer touching the ground, and pointed towards the abyss. Clinging to his chained weapons, he tried to find a solution, but there was none. Terrified, he watched helplessly as Sion withdrew the swords from the solid ground, holding them high in his hands. Laughing with dark intentions, Sion glared at Genisys menacingly, and bellowed over the roar of the wind, “So long, Guardian! Tell death it will be long before he finds me at his feet!” And then he crushed the metal blades, watching as the shattered remnants glided into the darkness. Helpless and hopeless, Genisys only closed his eyes as he slipped silently into the dark abyss. The portal closed, the wind died down, the calmness of the moonlit evening returned, and Sion lumbered away, grateful he hadn’t lost the battle, and grateful he did not need to cross paths with the Guardian anymore. Yet he was unaware of the transformation that was underway within the Void. Genisys, the Protector of the Land was washed away by sheer torture and darkness. His personality changed from one of safeguard to one of destruction. Tortured by the all-seeing Eye, and transformed by the Prophet, Genisys was no longer his old self. He lost his vision, and his appearance was altered into an obsidian black, and his blades were restored, but twisted and deformed by the darkness of Genisys’ soul. Filled with anguish and hatred, he fought vigorously to escape the abyss and one day, succeeded. On a midsummer's moonlit eve, a slight disturbance in the science of space was distorted, and two dark swords pierced the air itself, tearing a dimensional rift between Runterra and the Void. Stepping out of the abyss, Genisys let the cool air welcome him home as the portal closed behind him. He let out a sigh and began to walk through what he thought was his home. He stumbled across something big and heavy, and bent down to examine it. He discovered with enhanced senses that it was once a soldier, only now that it was dead, and headless. He continued and nearly ran into a tree stump, which was broken, splintered, and burnt. Continuing on, Genisys felt fear chilling his spine. He found more dead trees and bodies, and finally, dead wildlife. Terrified, he searched frantically for any signs of life, but to no avail. And in his search, he tripped over a stone. It was smashed, and when he put some pieces back together, everything became clear. It was the rune that banished him to the Void. And where he was standing indeed was his home. Only now it was a wasteland, void of life. Broken, Genisys fell to the ground and cried out in agony. He failed to protect the land. He lost to Sion. Sion. It was all Sion’s fault. He was a man. Mankind caused his home to burn. Mankind was to pay. “I will not rest until I have killed every one of them,” he vowed. “They must pay for what they’ve done. I must make amends for this desecration. I will be the very end of-” “Hey! Who are you?!” cried out a grumpy voice from behind. “You’re not supposed to be here! Identify your-” There was a shlunk! as Genisys’ blade embedded itself in his abdomen. The man groaned, but before he could cry out, he was dragged back to Genisys, who stared him in the face. “I’ll say this,” he threatened. “There are things to fear far worse than death. And now I am one of them.” And with that, he pushed the blade deeper into the soldier. Leaving his home, Genisys has gone to appeal to the League to make himself a reputation in hopes of gaining support to find new land to be granted or to help rebuild what was lost. Also, he seeks revenge upon Sion to pay for his transformation and alteration of destiny. In doing so, he hopes to make the most of the new assassin he has become.
Gasp ! you put so much effort into this... ! like the name Genisys !
