A new idea for a story game based on LoL
So I was thinking more on what a story game for the LoL universe would need. First of all, it would need to be a game that wouldn't compete against LoL itself for player base, so if online competitive were an option it would have to be a minor part of the game instead of a key feature. Furthermore, for optimal player base it would need to be a somewhat casual game that can be played on the side while waiting in Queue for a match in LoL. As a final point, it would need some kind of progression system for the hardcore players. With all of this in mind I hit upon an idea, one that is much better idea than my previously posted idea.
So here goes.
Concept
A story driven RTS game in the style of say Final Fantasy Tactics, Disgaea, or Fire Emblem. You can keep the concept of Summoners by using the player as only a tactician and not a commandable player character. For progression you can use a tier based system for units (those units being LoL champions) from 1-6. Acquiring units is the big snag I've hit upon in this, there is the obvious option of a "gacha" system outside a base starting squad but this system only works for the primary acquisition option if you're looking at implementing online play. If you don't look to implement online play you need a different system. So this system would need to be a "grind" system. Basically if you have a % chance to unlock a unit each time you defeat it in battle, with an option to maybe increase the % each time you fail to recruit the unit. Additionally you'll have the tier system for further progression, which would kind of depend on how you implement unit acquisition.
Story
The logical option here is to do a faction based story where you can pick one of the primary factions and try to conquer the other factions. Your base starting squad will be from the faction you choose, say Bilgewater or Demacia. First you would need to prove yourself in your own faction (also a way to unlock characters in your own faction if you use the "grind" method). Then you would take on the other major factions, and maybe have the minor factions be like side stories. I don't have anything as far as actual narrative for the story, just the rough concept here.
So tell me what you guys think?
