[Champion Concept] - Mister Jaunt, the Gentleman

Platinum Yak·11/9/2014, 9:04:53 AM·14 votes·4,107 views

My first champion concept, Mako the Fathom Reaver, got some very encouraging reaction. As the poll in Mako's thread determined, my next champion is...

Mister Jaunt - the Gentleman "Delighted to make your acquaintance..." http://goldenyak.com/images/colorwork/mister_jaunt_splash.png

---Lore--- I am Mister Jaunt, Mister Jaunt I am Sinister son of a sinister land

Some say I'm a horror A fiendish explorer From darkness profound, I've come to your town Presaging a court misbegotten

Others say I'm a herald To a world, dire imperiled From my homeland I'm torn, sent here to forewarn Of a gentry all vile, dead, and rotten

Which tale is true? Dear me, it seems I've forgotten

---Stats--- Primary - Fighter Secondary - Mage Attack - 5 Defense - 4 Ability - 6 Difficulty - 7 Range - 400 (Ranged, attacks with whip-like stretching limbs)

---Abilities---

-Dark Jaunt- Innate Mister Jaunt gains bonus attack damage based on his bonus movement speed. Whenever Mister Jaunt is out of sight of enemies, he gains bonus movement speed, which persists for 1/2/3/4/5/6/7 seconds after being sighted by the enemy.

-Take You Away (Q) - Cost: 60/70/80/90/100 mana / Range: 300 / Cooldown: 20/18/16/14/12

Mister Jaunt stretches out his limbs, grabbing the first enemy target he strikes and lifting them into the air. Enemies are stunned while grabbed. Mister Jaunt then tosses them a short distance in the direction of the cursor, dealing damage to the target and slowing any enemies hit by the target. Jaunt and his enemy cannot be targeted while in the air.

-Tendril (W) - Cost: 50/55/60/65/70 mana / Tendril Attack Range: 300m / Recharge: 12/11/10/9/8

Mister Jaunt grows a tendril out of his body. Mister Jaunt can store up to 4 charges of this ability. This ability will only store charges if there are less than 4 tendrils available at any time, either active or stored.

Tendrils will attack random enemies within range using a ranged whip strike based on 75% of Mister Jaunt's attack speed and range, and can attack while Mister Jaunt is moving. Every time Mister Jaunt is damaged for 4% of his total health while he has a tendril, it will detach and become an invulnerable, immobile minion attacking his enemies for a short time. Only one tendril may be broken off at a time. Tendrils will despawn over time or if Mister Jaunt moves far away from them.

If Mister Jaunt strikes the same enemy three times in a row, all tendrils either attached or broken off will focus on that enemy, and their attacks will reduce the target's movement speed by 10% per tentacle for 2 seconds. Tendrils lose focus when detaching or if Mister Jaunt attacks a different enemy.

**-Long Grasp (E) **- Cost: 50/60/70/80/90 mana / Range: 475m / Cooldown: 4

Toggle Off - When activated, Mister Jaunt's arms grow longer. Every attack Mister Jaunt makes grants him 25 bonus attack range, stacking up to 6 times (150 bonus range). Bonus attack range stacks decay one at a time over 3 seconds. Bonus attack range stacks persists when Long Grasp is toggled off but does not stack with the bonus attack range from Long Stride.

-Long Stride (E) - Cooldown: 14/13/12/11/10

Toggle On - When activated Mister Jaunt's legs grow taller, allowing him to move over units. Mister Jaunt will only use kicks to attack and gains 75 bonus attack range. For 3 seconds after activation, Mister Jaunt can make one leap over any terrain he comes into contact with and gains 75% bonus movement speed, dropping to 20% after 3 seconds while Long Stride is active.

-Hush (R) - Cost: 100 mana / Cooldown: 140,120,100 Active Mister Jaunt transforms into something closer to his true form, turning completely black. In this state he immediately produces 2 extra tendrils in addition to any granted by his Tendril ability. He receives increased attack damage, all active tendrils attack using 100% of his attack speed, and he has a chance to avoid a percentage of any single-target damage dealt to him (area of effect and damage over time cannot be avoided in this way). Lasts 10 seconds.

Passive Mister Jaunt gains an extra charge of this ability whenever he kills or assists in a kill of an enemy champion while it is active. Charges gained become available the next time this ability is cast. Up to 2 extra charges can be stored. This ability can be refreshed before its duration expires once per charge. Refreshing this ability will not restore extra tendrils if they are detached but still alive.

---Background--- As the time of the Harrowing comes to a close, the dreaded Black Mists withdraw back to the Shadow Isles, taking with them all the poor souls who fell prey to their dark power. Every year this harvest grows, more and more hapless spirits are drawn into the darkness, and the wicked power of the Shadow Isles swells - the shadows lengthen, the light grows more feeble, and the hungry, gnawing things in the night creep closer and closer to the living world.

In the time following the most recent Harrowing, fearful whispers and blood-chilling rumours have risen in the settlements along the western coast, nearest to the dreaded Shadow Isles. Tales of a frightful, ghoulish man leering in through windows in the dead of night, of a distant figure, inhumanly tall, striding through darkened woods far from civilization, there one instant and gone the next. Brave-hearted men and woman shiver in the night, memories of childhood nightmares long forgotten bubbling back to the surface of their minds, dreams of a terrifying stranger looming over their beds, with no face but a wide, monstrous grin.

The nightmare has now come true. For so long the Gentleman had walked the darkened paths outside the waking world, the world of the living, waiting to be invited in. Now the world's fear has prepared the way for him, and his striding walk has brought him to Valoran. The world and its nightmares belong to him. And he is merely the herald for even darker times to come.

Jaunt - A dream shorn of his dreamer! I know someone who'd be very pleased to have you back... Nocturne Nocturne - What terror could be greater than I?

Jaunt - My dear chap, his lordship insists on the return of his rightful property! Thresh Thresh - The lantern is mine now, shadow-thing. Your lord should have kept a better guard on it.

Meh... you literally just gave slenderman a hat and teeth.

Dear god, how horrifying. I love the lore, and the flavor is awesome. I can totally picture this guy springing out from the fog of war, snatching a squishy, and spiriting them off to their demise.

While this champion concept wasn't as popular as my first, I've got great hopes for my next one - the Terrible Thunder Lizard. Coming soon!

I love this idea. The lore is absolutely perfect for his personality. If you're interested in gentlemanly champs, you should check out my champion concept for Cervius: The Puppet Master. Though it is not mentioned entirely in the lore, he is an upper class man that is well mannered. He has slight English accent (not as strong as Cait's) as well. Although he may act like a gentleman, he has done some intrepid things, things that he can't take back. He's dressed in clothing that one might be seen wearing to go to the opera, along with a masquerade mask. His beard is neatly trimmed and his hair combed back. His lore is a little long, but the more you read, the more interesting it gets, and it explains EVERYTHING you want to know about his past and who he is. His abilities, game play, and quotes (including special interactions) are listed in a neat and organized fashion. Here is a link if your interested in checking it out: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/skin-champion-concepts/eeTGjrhl-champion-concept-cervius-the-puppet-master If you like it, be sure to give it an upvote and comment your thoughts on it. It would be greatly appreciated.

It's interesting, obviously based on slenderman. One major issue is that there is no way in hell any marksman should have shittons of mobility, Ashe-level utility, dashes, and a controllable, instant Blitzcank hook.

i don't know what stat used in ability... (like AD, AP...) and type of damage in ability (physical, magic, true...)

looks more like Assassin-Mage than Fighter-Mage...
