Buddy System?

This is just an idea, but it would be cool if there was a buddy system in league where new players can connect to more experienced players who are willing to help and they can be taught how to get into the game. Especially now that league can be growing more and with the new videos out as ads, those people can not only be hooked but also reeled in to play league.

I struggled a lot to get into league, mainly because I had no idea what I was doing (I built trinity force on every champion because my logic was most expensive item= best item). I honestly thought about quitting and almost did after a smurf completely dominated the game. The only reason I stuck around was because a stranger who actually knew how to play reached out and taught me more. The tutorial is super basic and the 1 on 1 or 1 on a few really helped me ease into this new world.

I’ve been doing this myself and I know others do too, but for example new players we connect on discord or just voice chat and it’s a sort of basic coaching that helps them stay in the game.

It’s also great for them to meet someone they can ask for help and make a new friend. I know when I started League I was struggling, but every time I logged in I was greeted by the green circle and that my new friend was online. This also started to form a sort of community in my eyes within the game. No one I knew in real life played league, but after a year I started to get the hang of it and got a few of my friends into it. I think a small problem is that people aren’t really introduced properly to league.

Again, this is just an idea but I think it would be great if instead of only bot games, there was actually a live help service in game for new players. For now, I’ll just continue helping teach myself but hopefully something like this can be done in the future :)
