Swain VGU

Hi, I already posted my idea for Swain's E which would push his tactician theme pretty far, now I'm coming with full VGU!

I wanted to keep in mind Swain's bulky warlock theme, too, so I kept his bird-morphing and semi-tanky nature.

http://lol.arcana-gaming.com/content/arcana/upload/League%20of%20Legends/PBE/_Cycle_5.21/2015_10_16/Swain_Splash_Centered_0%20(1).jpg (Shoutout to the first version of the updated splash art, which was better imho.)

Passive: Carrion Renewal Whenever Swain kills an unit with his basic attack, he restores 13-30 (based on level) mana.

Additionally, enemy champions takedowns restore 9% of his maximum mana.

> First part of Swain's passive is now exclusive only to basic attacks. It's going to force him to get closet to the minion wave, which wouldn't be necesarry for him due to the nature of his new kit otherwise. I like the interactivity and usefulness of Swain's current passive anyway.

Q: Trusted Companion Beatrice, Swain's trusted raven, appeares on the battlefield with Swain. Pressing Q: Trusted Companion works as an attack/move command for her.

Beatrice's stats: Health: 325/370/415/460/505 (+0.3 bonus HP) ATS: 0.6 (+0.025 per level) Damage: 35/60/85/110/135 (+0.5 AP) magic damage MVS: 350 Range: 135 (melee)

  • Beatrice restores 10-82 (4 per level) health to herself on hit, but does not regenerate health by herself.
  • Beatrice gains 30% movement speed buff when facing enemies with impaired movement (slows, roots, stuns, ...).
  • First Beatrice's attack in brush (or in 0.2 seconds after leaving brush) Fears the enemy for 0.8 seconds. (This effect has 9 seconds CD, scales with CDR.)
  • If killed, the slayer gains 50 gold and Q: Trusted companion goes on cooldown. When ready again, Beatrice respawns in Swain's location.
  • Crowd control effects apply to her.

Cost: 20 mana on hit, no cost on movement CD: 64/58/52/46/40 Range: Global

> Beatrice provides the commanding fantasy. Although Swain's very strong when having her nearby, he's deals almost no damage when she's not, or when she's dead. This opens the clear opportunity windows for his opponents when she's away or dead. > Beatrice can be choosed to do large scope of things: you can use her to zone your opponent. You can leave her in a brush as a free, permanent ward, that also fears the jungler when they're about to gank you and just freely farm. You can just send her to scout to another lanes or even to counterjungle (would be excellent for getting easy First bloods on enemy red buff, but that gives your laning opponent a signal you are weak and easy to get all-inned and also does not pay full attention to him. > I'm pretty sure Bea is too strong early and weak late, but numbers should fix that.

W: Nevermove TL;DR - no changes, this is perfect.

> Only notice that the root delay is 0.875, so the enemy always has 0.075 seconds to flash when they're unexpectedly feared - although I'm not sure they deserve this counterplay option if they facecheck like this. But hey, Swain can always W > fear.

E: Set the Barricades! Swain places an Ally camp (1 second cast time) that lasts 9 seconds and is defended by a wall on one side (vector cast).

  • Swain and his allies standing in the camp gain 25% movement speed buff and healing from all sources increased by 12%.
  • Beatrice additionally regenerates 2% of her maximum health every second in it.
  • Bonuses don't stack, if there are two camps placed over each other.

Cost: 60 mana CD: 20/18/16/12/10 per charge (2 charges max)

> This is the spell i proposed earlier. Can be used obviously when sieging or defending and synergizes well with artillery champions, but the range is pretty huge so it can be also used offensively - when Swain needs to block someone's escape or when the team is approaching strategically from the flank, the movement speed buff is always handy. > While I think it's dope thematic-wise, I also think that it has ALOT of skin potential - here in the picture are only some planks used, but we can go for stone walls, barrels (for Bilgewater Swain), a pile of dirt...

R: The Noxian Demon Swain morphs into a giant bird-like demon creature. His basic attacks now deal additional (0.4 AP) magic damage on hit and Swain is healed for 12/16/20% of all damage he deals.

Cost: 20 mana per second + 5 per additional second CD: 15/13/11

> As I said, I wanted to keep his ultimate's visual thematics, because it's deeply core to him, while making it more modern and interactive.

I hope you enjoyed my Swain's VGU concept, I'm sure I'd play the fuck out of him if he was this way as I like the zone of control, army commanding playstyles and this a new spin-off of that.

#Cheers!

Even though I feel this changes just too much about Swain, I still like a lot of this as a concept and IMO this'd not be a bad direction to take him when his VGU does roll around. There's pretty much no way that his 100-0ing isn't a big part of what has him slated for one eventually. Of course, Beatrice as a minion with no leash range who's also still the biggest source of damage in his kit is probably just a little too weird, and his ult not being AoE would be weird.

Feels like too much change, going from a DoT mage to an on hit supportive mate. Plus, the fact that nearly all his damage comes from Beatrice's and his own autos sounds cancerous.

Gameay wise I feel he is fine, (I like the whole walking AOE dot mage drain tank). Though the Q looks nice and all, R is a no go, like the point was to be walking Bird demon that steals the life of all nearby. Also why a mini Azir R on his E? He isn't an in combat tactician, he sets everything up way before hand.

Also he needs to be shirtless and be as ripped as Master Roshi was :^)
