Rift Terrain Tweaks

Hey just a few quick thoughts on the rift geography. These are mostly things that have been slight nuisances for me personally, nothing major.

  1. Moats outside of the nexus platform. Why? Because moats are cool (also it might be nice to have a little more river space for those few little things that are affected by it, and where do you need it more than right there)
  2. Top Lane. Personally I'd be inclined to shift top lane closer to mid lane. Not by much mind you, but just a little nudge. My reason for this is to break the isolation of the top laners by bringing them just ever so slightly closer to mid. You may need to bring the upper wall in down to match too, since a fair number of top lane champs rely on wall interactions and too much open area would be a problem.
  3. Nexus defenses. Once your inhibs are broken, it's pretty hopeless. Sure it's not impossible, and I totally understand the need to be able to close out games. But it would be nice to have just a smidge more defensibility. I'd add two very small walls or really just boulders behind the top and bottom inhib turrets, creating a very slight funnel towards the two nexus turrets. I'd also create two alcoves (or just slight broadening of the nexus triangle) off to sides in these areas. Thirdly i'd add two bushes very far back to either side, just outside of the nexus. This would, in my mind, create a little room to make some plays rather than just being slaughtered by the snowball. Otherwise, y'know, it often just feels like why even have nexus turrets, come on in and wreck us. I kindof want buffs to those turrets, tbh, but probably not both terrain and buffs... and i'd rather have the terrain. I actually mapped all this out... kinda hard to describe without showing but eh, you get the idea.
  4. Tribush. OMG the blue side bot lane tribush area. I totally get that it's balanced by the top side mirror, but the ganks are just insane down there. The red side bot lane is SO much better protected and SO less frequently subject to ganks. I'd love to see some kind of stats on the number of ganks between these two, the number of successful ganks, the number of team dives. My main concern is that it's not quite fair for blue bot lane, and would suggest a slight shift in the terrain to make it just a little less easy to pile drive onto them. The mirror logic would be fine, but it's affecting 2 laners instead of 1 and in the meta it's the carry, at that, which puts the poor blue bot lane at a disadvantage. I'm not saying its a major problem or really impacts the game, i'm just saying it's noticeable (to me at least, although i have no stats) and.... yeah maybe give it a safety nudge.

That's it! I really like the rift overall. While reflecting on all this I realized how good those one-way doors on the nexus wall turned out to be. I remember hating them haha.
