I was thinking, not to sound selfish, but tomorrow is my birthday, which got me on to thinking of Riot giving away gifts. Gifts like free RP and such on your birthday, you simply put in your birthday when you make an account, and when that day comes you get a gift. What are the pros and cons of this? And would you like to see it in the future?
If they did anything like this, I would say it should either be a small amount of RP, a several win IP boost, or a random mystery gift. All of these gifts are small enough or random enough that it would be unlikely to give you something you specifically want, and thus wouldn't interfere with Riot's monetization strategy too much. It would also still feel like a nice little present.
The only qualifier I would put on is that you have to have had your account for at least a full year before you can begin to receive birthday presents. This would prevent people from starting up Smurf accounts with just a single champion and hoping to get expensive skins for that champion.
My birthdays April 1st so I kinda already get one. Although one for all is still my favorite alternative mode not urf.
