Pretty sure Sion would win this one.

Even if Poppy managed to kill him, he would just detonate like a nuclear bomb with the thousands of souls he has locked up in that device. And nothing can survive that except maybe a cockroach Khazix .

Poppy may be powerful, but that enchanted hammer can't stop what has been going on for years. Sion's furnace grows ever brighter, and every second he is near her is one year off her life. It essentially sucks the life out of people when near them, since it is made to do that.

He's been running for nearly a generation now, from the middle of Darkwill's reign through all of Swain's reign, he's been consuming more and more souls. Even if Noxus wanted to decommission him, they couldn't do it safely. It would take Vladimir years to slowly and safely remove all the energy stored inside Sion.

Not to mention that even 5 minutes around Sion would be equivalent to 300 years off of Poppy's life. No yordle lives that long.

The only beings I can imagine being able to defeat Sion would be:

Aatrox : His Darkin Blade consumes life the same way Sion does, so he's basically just charging up off of Sion like a battery. Not to mention Aatrox can match Sion's size, power, and speed, and strip him of all his advantages quickly.

Karthus The Undead Lich can easily call out to the crying souls inside the furnace, reaching out and setting them free as his own. Karthus is very powerful, so Sion could prove useful to his endeavors.

Xerath : Xerath is energy incarnate, so he can just feed off of Sion's energy. If he broke open the actual furnace, he could contain the blast by simply absorbing all the energy. That's a scary prospect.

: A battle of titans, Sion and Mordekaiser would eventually have to stop fighting. But Mordekaiser I could see winning because he never tires, as opposed to Sion having a vast yet limited energy pool to tap into. Even if Sion blows up, Mordekaiser can laugh it off.

Maokai : Bear with me. Maokai is adept at absorbing magic, and he was created to do so. Therefore, all that magical energy inside Sion would be absorbed, if his body can handle it. But he already dealt with the entire Shadow Isles' magic, so he'll be fine.

Veigar : While Veigar is short in stature, his power is incredible. He can bend time and space, and using this power he can create a vortex to absorb Sion himself, sending him to another dimension altogether.

Nasus may siphon souls, but he's just Ascended. He is immortal, but not invincible. Nasus would perish.

In game? Maybe. In a real battle? Not so much.

You see, Sion's furnace drains life rapidly. And the weaker you are, the more ravenous it is to take the last scraps of your soul. He's the perfect weapon, capable of growing stronger through killing and killing with the strength he achieves. No Ascended being could stop that kind of power.

Ingame? Sion can hope to kill him before Susan has 1000 gold. After glacial shroud or sheen it's over. In a real battle? I figured they would be magically draining each other, but Susan is the only one who actually heals off it. But that's just my theorie :P Also, Gangplank would beat him easily because he ate an orange and it was k. EDIT: Couldn't Thresh just suck the souls right out of his furnace and put them in his lantern? LOL, I also don't know if Sion would be able to drain his life power at all considering he is not alive.... If he can't drain the life force of those who do not live, Hecarim might stand a chance if it comes to pure physical power. summoner 31

About Thresh, no. He couldn't, since his method of collecting is via his hook. He rips souls away and collects them like easter eggs. He can't mass collect souls, much less the highly concentrated energy of them. The kind of soul Sion absorbs is their life energy, and their characters and memoried perish, nothing remaining but their screaming voices...

Thresh prefers to torment frightened souls, not absorb their energy. He's a glutton for torment. He would most likely be overwhelmed and disgusted by the onslaught of Sion's furnace.

Don't get me wrong, Nasus would put up one hell of a fight. He would impale Sion and break his bones again and again, but Sion just refuses to die.

One generation, huh? I swear I remember reading somewhere with Poppy's new update that she's been searching for the proper wielder of the hammer for decades. I think the same place mentioned something about certain Yordles being functionally immortal as long as they have a proper task they need to finish. So it's really more of a toss up about who has more experience between the Yordle and the Undead Juggernaut.

Remember that Sion died during the reign of Jarvan II. He also lived through the reign of Jarvan I, so he's been around for more than decades. He's been around for more than two or three centuries, both in life, death, and undeath.

Sion's seen so much battle he just doesn't care who he kills anymore. To him, it's just a way to pass time. But the only real motivation he has to kill at the moment is his insatiable hunger, the furnace that burns inside him and hungers for more souls.

Two or three centuries? Depends on how creative the Lightshields are in naming their children. If they have had 4 generations continually calling their children JarvanIV (and assuming the rough average of 20 years for a generation), that's only about 100 years or so. It could be even less if each successor was a brother, nephew, or cousin who took up the old name to honor the old king. Hell, the way some of the old kingships worked, each king could have lasted months.

Not even a mention for Galio , the demacian titan of petricite, the magic sponge that could eat the blood magic that forms the base of Sion's furnace?

Rhaast, that is shown defeating him in his login and has more or less the same characteristics as Aatrox ?

Even Swain , that could tie with Sion at taking souls by being close, and even worse, could rip the souls out of the furnace to feed his arm and then release that as a nuclear sized Q in Sion's (and most of Noxus) face, although this would depend on the CPS (Crows Per Second) that Swain can achieve

I don't remember where it was spoken about Sion's furnace in such detail, but are you sure that it just keeps piling up souls? I mean, i understood that the furnace take souls and use them to help Sion stay undead, so he doesn't stockpile them, but burns them. Sion dying shouldn't produce any important explosion, as he shouldn't have that many after much time burning them

As Sion dies, life floods back into his double-dead limbs. The insignificant yordle who bested him shall not win another fight, ragged as she is. She can barely even twirl that hammer. He strikes her. He strikes her again. But as he leans back to issue a third attack, she lets loose her swing, sending Sion flying leagues away.

"Poppy raised her hammer for the final strike. This is it. I have to strike now if I'm going to beat him! Mustering all her strength, she swung a wide arc as Sion lifted his axe, hitting him square in the hole in his stomach. "Urgh... raaaaargh!" Poppy watched as Sion cradled his head in his hands, and the hole in his stomach grew brighter and more violent. What... what's going on?!? Before Poppy could react, the air exploded into flashes of red and gray. Poppy felt thousands brushing past her, screaming in her ears. Driving her mad with their screams as she felt her body succumb to the souls around her, and waste away..."

Sion is a pretty huge guy. It'd take much more force than a hammer to kill him. And if he starts having a meltdown, trying to knock him away with such a large amount of force would just make him more unstable and detonate faster.

Also, Galio is a gargoyle meant to protect against attackers. He can't stop a nuclear bomb.

We're talking 1v1 here. Galio would probably be fighting a sustain battle with Vlad or something.

Regardless, Poppy's hammer is strong against large creatures, but creatures like that feel pain and are softer because of their lack of predators. Sion is something on a whole new level.

Vladimir's claws can be used to inflict wounds on himself, to release sharp projectiles of blood to chip away at Galio's Bulwark.

But if it's his own blood, then he'll run out (unless he decides to solidify his blood in any of Galio's cracks) before Galio falls. Plus they have to get past the shield that repairs Galio.

That shield is Galio's bulwark. It can't fix cracks from such an onslaught like Vlad, who can easily fight Galio in the middle of a battlefield and be a god.

Wow...damn. Being asked for in a post is a first for me.

As for the art: Holy shit. I pretty much main both of those champions (I love AD and Tanks) and I gotta say that this is impressive. Both are heroes of their respective nations, but one is unaware while the other can't care anymore. One is doomed by his past accomplishments while the other is too humble to recognize her deeds.

They are opposites, but Poppy is not the true rival of Sion. She is a warrior for the future, while Sion is a relic of the past.

One who can only be stopped by another relic. A gargoyle by the name of Galio.

...That said, I wanna get into Galio as my fourth main (Singed > Zilean > Sion) just so I have a good sneaky mid pick to deal with those pesky mages. I don't like playing Assassins.

I bought him but haven't played him yet (I played him when he was free) because I don't get mid often. He'll probably be a very powerful pick in the Mage update.

I enjoyed him when he was free. A well placed ult is devastating. The rest of his kit wasn't the most memorable. Actually I did like his passive.
