[Champion Concept]- Kusari the Weeping Chains

To start, Kusari is a high impact tank with a ton of crowed control and a a bunch of resistances to keep her alive in the middle of the fight as well as do enough damage to make people run away from her. She has many raw stats that add to her innate tankiness and abilities that just make her nearly impossible to kill without high focus.

Birthplace: Ionia Faction: Independent Description: Tall dark-skinned woman with long silvery hair that is wrapped in ghastly iron chains. She wears tattered slave clothes and chains are wrapped around her body and legs. She walks around barefoot and has purely white eyes.

LORE PART 1 Kusari was a grand woman in Ionia most notable for her excessive beauty and charm. Men crumpled at her feet and woman became destructively jealous of her, but her beauty was not the only thing that gave her ground within the Ionian nation. Her excellent magic ability, akin to the future Syndra, was her pride and joy as she did shows all across the nation for anyone who would watch. Unfortunately for her though, Kusari's name would be slandered throughout all of Ionia.

A few months later, Noxus invaded Ionia under the cover of night and began to wreck havoc throughout the land. Kusari's village was located in the southern region of Navori, and was one of the many targets by the Noxian invaders. One night, as she came home from a show in the north, she found her entire village burning from chemicals created by a Mad Chemist. Hollow screams of death and suffering filled her head as she could only watch from a line of trees as the people she loved were eaten up by the acidic compound. Kusari held in her screams and ran away from the cruelty of Noxus.

For a month straight, Kusari continued to walk along the southern coast of Navori, seeking a powerful magic to stop the invaders from going any further into the mainland, but it was too late for her. Several Noxian soldiers captured her outside of a cave early one morning and immediately sold her into slavery at the docks. She was shipped to Noxus in bondage and sold to the highest bidder at a secret auction in Zaun. Eventually, she was sold to a woman from Zaun who was looking to do experiments on a female subject.

Five years of Kusari's life was spent as a lab rat, but her magic energy kept her from receiving any permanent physical harm, but her mind was still scarred. She began to bottle up her emotions, and the radiance she had back in Ionia was lost in the essence of her quiet rage.

She tried to escape many times, but her owner always found a way to drag her back and do experiments on her. At some point though, the woman had become fed up with all of the constant escape attempts and sold Kusari off to an aristocrat from Noxus who was living in a Noxian occupied part of Ionia. Kusari was shipped back to her home country and began to work in the cave systems deep underground. In seven years time she only saw the sun 6 times and the rest was spent in the darkness of the mine, extracting any minerals she could find.

In due time, hunger and sleep deprivation had drove her to near insanity to the point where she heard a voice calling out to her in the middle of rest time down in the cave. One day, she decided to follow the voice into the cave system, trudging through underground springs and dangerous rocks to listen to this impulsive voice. She came to a dead end, a circular opening in the tight cave system where the light of the moon shone down onto the stone floor. Her feet dragged her forward on impulse and she stepped into the unfamiliar light, one she hasn't been able to see in what felt like a millennium.

Once she stepped into the light of the moon, a deranged power crept into her spirit and ethereal chains materialized onto her body. Her sickly skin became healthily dark again and her brown hair changed into the silver light of the moon. The chains wrapped themselves around her hair to tie it, and more power coursed through Kusari's veins.

Rejuvenated, Kusari used her new-found powers to climb to the surface and taste the full glory of the outside air once again, but that wasn't it for her. She needed to do one thing, and that was to destroy the man who killed her entire village. Kusari was free, and out for blood.

ABILITIES
(P)- Forlorn: Kusari gains bonus resistences from the chains that wrap around her body. (15/25/35) armor and magic resist at ranks 1/7/13. Kusari will lose this bonus if she is hit with hard crowd control for 2 seconds.

(Q)- Servant's Plea: Kusari's despair and pain grants her a shield for (60/120/180/240/300) + (10%) missing health. The shield lasts for 7 seconds and continues to grow until she reaches below 10% health. CD: (17/15/13/11/9) Mana: 75 at all ranks

(W)- Eternal Bondage: Kusari's chains feel her wrath and attack all enemies within ability range for (40/60/80/120/160) + (40%) AP in magic damage and roots all enemies hit for 1.5 seconds after a .25 second charge time. CD: 14 at all ranks; Mana: 100/90/80/70/60

(E)- Seeking Chains: First cast- Kusari plants herself into the ground and sends chains a set length where she can direct the mass inside of a coned area for 12 seconds. During this time she is unable to use any other abilities. including movement and AA commands until she cancels the ability or is hit with hard CC. Second cast- Kusari Replaces herself with her chains and explodes from the ground, after a .5 second cast time, and pulls all enemies in her range to her and slowing them for 65% for 1 second. Each enemy hit by a chain and dragged to her takes 90/125/160/195/230 +(20%) AP in true damage. The damage can be negated by using cleansing effects before pulled into Kusari. CD: 22 Seconds at all ranks; Mana: 90

(R)- Bear My Wounds: First activation- All Hard crowed control effects are removed from Kusari (can still be slowed) and is immune to these effects for 5 seconds. Second Activation- Kusari transfers half of the damage done to her during the duration of the ultimate, at the end of the immunity, to a target of her choosing. She then heals back a flat amount of 200 health + (1%) missing health at the end of the ultimate. CD: 140/120/100; Mana: 200/175/150

the passive is not reliable an the way out of the passive is too hard to achieve rather it should grant bonus armor/magic resist if not damaged for a set period of time upon receiving damage the armor/mr should be removed until procked again by not recieving damage... also it should scale completely by level not just on x levels and should be roughly equivalent to 3 per level.... that is 54 at level 18... if you really want to push it it could scale all the way to 4 per level but that is quite high for a passive.... the q is too strong 10%missing health if i build health and have 5000 health and say i lose 4000 I would have a shield of 700 at max rank also this ability is too close to TahmKench and needs a unique identity. The W can work if the range is say something like 550 or something to that effect but too much range and the ability is op.... E is way too powerful and seems like an ult in itself and should probably be completely reworked it is also way too similar to that of Thresh if you were to fuse his q and w... A better more unique and less op skill that would be similar to what you are trying to achieve would be if your champ launches a wad of chains in an aoe fashion at target location. Upon arival the wad knocks up enemies for a short duration and acts as a ward for a duration.... if it does hit an enemy the ability can be reactivated for a short duration allowing the champion to trade places with the chains... after this duration the chains rush back to the champion dealing damage to any enemies caught within the path and knocking them aside briefly.... If you want this option the root would need to go... however it would work well with the passive and w activations..... The R while an awesome idea is lacking in a couple things... The removal of all cc is a cool idea but immunity to cc is a bad one i would remove that effect and in place I would apply a flat %damage reduction for the duration of the effect or even something along the lines of cannot die for the duration of the effect so cc would still be a viable option to countering the champion as all one would need to do is cc and book it or not hit her again also it would be cool taht instead of transfering it to a target she transfered that damage to all targets within a medium-large aoe say something along the lines of 650 units..... this could work and these changes would make the champ not only more viable but give the champ a unique identity within league....

Passive: She basically doesn't have a passive if it only scales with her ult, just move it to her ult and add another passive like: gains hp equal to 100% her armor and hp regen equal to 35% her magic resistance.

Q: Kinda like TahmKench shield but stronger. If you change her passive to her ult, i would make the shield scale with resistances so there is some ability interaction, like:

  • Gains a shield that absorbs damage equal to 45/55/65/75/85 + (300% bonus armor + 300% bonus magic resistance) HP for 2.5 seconds. Receiving damage increases the duration of the shield by 1.5 seconds. Each time the duration is increased the shield absorbs extra (25% total armor + 25% total magic resist) damage, can only be increased a maximum of 3 times and the cooldown of this spell resets only after the shield completely fades.

W: seems ok as long as it grants enough time for the enemies to react.

E: the first part is kinda confusing, seems ok though.

R: seems ok, with the suggestion about changing her passive resistances to a passive in her ult and reduce them to 15/25/35.

Ahh i have found a solution in place of your shield you should have an ability similar to a zhonias in that it makes you immune to damage for the duration it is active but also denies you the ability to move or form any actions until it has ended and it should be reactivatable to remove early and should have a long cooldown if you do not have a set amount of time it can be activated for.... 30/28/26/24/22 would be an appopriate cooldown as choosing the right time to activate and deactivate will be key in playing this champ and mastering her also at 50%cd that would be 11 seconds at max rank but would take a good amount of itemization to achieve so it would be effective.

The shield on her Q is too strong, her E looks like an ultimate all on its own, her passive is just not there until level 6, the armor and MR bonus on it is insane, and her ultimate can one shot an adc.... broken on so many levels.

I was just rereading her E, and noticed that she had 12 seconds in channel. That's a lot of time, I might reduce it to 6 seconds, or something close to that.

I believe your scalings are mis-written. We don't generally mix 0.4 (decimal) with 40% (percentage.) What you probably meant for her Q, W, and E is: Q: 10% missing health (or 0.1 scaling.) W: 40% AP (or 0.4 scaling.) E: 20% AP (or 0.2 scaling.)

Now, as far as her kit and utility goes, I think you did an amazing job of creating a really strong but fun tank. She is 100% a tank because she has good CC, low mobility, and low scaling. However, she is still strong with decent base damage, true damage, and a lot of CC. I especially like her E, W, and Q... so pretty much everything. I think her ultimate is cool, but it's kind of hard to visualize how it would feel in game. That's not your fault though, it's just the sort of thing you'd have to play with before you feel comfortable with it.

Some of your wording could use careful consideration and refining to make understanding it easier, but I think I could comprehend everything you meant. For instance, you might want to reword your Q to say something to the effect of: her shield scales with a percentage of her missing health (10%) that updates over the duration for health she loses while the shield is active. (Though that may be too technical sounding.)

For specific suggestions, I have ideas for what might make her more interesting, but nothing really for balance, except a possible adjustment to her E's base damage, which I think should scale: 90/125/160/195/230. I really like the fact that cleansing effects can negate the damage as well, that gives it excellent counterplay. You could also reduce the amount of health back from her ultimate, at least making it flat + a little scaling.

Now, for thematic/gameplay suggestions:

Passive: It's fine, but maybe consider changing it so that instead of just being a stat bonus, it has play and counterplay options.

Maybe remove the damage negation on her Q and instead say something to the effect of: "When her current health drops below 10%, she gains a full 50% of her missing health immediately (affected by grievous wounds), and the shield stops updating based on lost health." (Note that for that effect to even work, the shield needs to have been broken.)

Maybe make her W root her in place for 1 second, and deal damage over time for even longer, giving her reason to combo. (I also say this because you can make her W release chains that shoot out, spiking into the ground all around her, dealing damage and rooting her. So maybe make it two iterations of damage, when they shoot out and when they release her, and make enemies stunned for 1.5 seconds, and root her for 2 seconds.) I just think that would be cool.

E: no suggestion, I love it. R: no suggestion, it's fine.

If you choose this it should also have a passive effect as well something along the lines of 2/4/6/8/10% of damage that would be dealt to ally champions within range are dealt to you instead (cannot reduce below 5% max health)
