It led to some of the developers at LoL putting in one of those many hidden interactions in LoL where both Volibear and Zilean get a debuff (does nothing) making a joke about this.
Zilean's says something like "In my day we never would have let armoured bears into the League."
Voli's says something like "Not even Zilean could keep armoured bears out of the League."
