The visual Above would be close or up to Tower Height provided the ward has a skin for it, and in which case is placed at the top of the pillar. The classic along with all skins will also have additional SFX so when you see it you will hear "destroy me" or maybe like something relevant to the skin it has possibly just a deep bassy ambience ETC.
This would also possibly ignite players using wards as a means to block auto-attacks from hitting their allies since the skin idea would be tall and bulky. However I feel like this new "mechanic" can work out well and maybe even taken advantage of provided the right scenarios persist.
