Graves + Cigar = Possible

EDITED: @12:31pm EST 6/22/2016 More may be on the way, as inspiration hits me. (Along with much of the helpful ideas of the comment section)

Option 1: Provide Graves a Vape device (origins from maybe Zaun or Piltover... maybe a wooden ionia one) to each of his skins. Every 2 minutes once he becomes out of combat and idle for 2.5 seconds he will begin a channel for 4.5 seconds, during this he grabs out his vaping device. He smokes from it and clouds up an area that clears immediately if he begins to move or allies get near him. Aswell as if enemies get sight of him.

Option 2: Add a Cigar, Vape Device, Joint, ETC. As he spawns in he grabs out the iconic skin specific smoking object out and begins to smoke on it leaving maybe a puff or two behind him that dissapears after 0.7 seconds, of which can not be seen unless the sight was given as or while he made the smoke. After 2 minutes he drops it on the ground shooting it and laughing saying "Its out now!"; Once he remains idle for 2.5 seconds he begins a channel that is him grabbing out a Smoking device and lighting it up this lasts 4.5 seconds. Moving and combat will interrupt the channel; Whilst the smoker smokes, his smoke screen does a flat non-scaling 0.0420 extra true damage; Smoking also increases the amount of smoke within Smokescreen.

I've never understood this whole Graves cigar thing and why he can't have it considering the Gragas Esq. skin has one lol.

It's a backlash to Riot's censoring decisions. They removed references to alcohol and smoking and even some sexually explicit material (look for the "Bring back the Urgot nipple" petition) I'm not sure about Gragas Esq, but they did remove the smoke from Gentleman Cho'Gath, just to give you an idea of the stupid decisions they make in an attempt to make the game more child friendly. :/ They also removed some blood from some splash arts, but I don't recall which ones. Oh! And Grim Reaper Karthus being changed from a cool skeleton grim reaper into something that looks like a Dementor because some issue with China, something about depicting skeletons or dead people, idk.

depicting skeletons or the dead is really taboo

In China, yes. But that doesn't mean WE have to go through the same changes. :/ I personally liked the old splash.

Thanks for pointing that out. I really didn't think about that xD

I did think the same as you, kind sir. However after much more thought and evaluation, the comments/replies helped me see the 'WE' or in the actual sense the Riot Games might just have the ideology that even though we are free to do something, doesn't mean we shouldn't look out for younger ages and older. In this case, we shouldn't walk all over another opinion and their respect of their copyright on skeletons and/or things that look dead. However I may be completely wrong, if so I am sorry.

No, they are not.

Here are two examples from CHINESE-MADE GAMES.

There is only a law about "promoting cults or superstitions", which is up to debate and pretty much always it's the non-chinese developers themselves, who are censoring the content on their own accord, without any incentive from China.

Take my upvote sir.

They removed Grave's cigar, right after updating his splash, but then never removed it on Gragas Esq (Most likely since it's a skin and they can just disable it in that counter, but not a champ)

WTF is this lmao I love it

TBH I just want the visuals if it has to have no buff at all... It would add so much more feels and unique-ness to Graves Graves ! He'd get his cigar! I can see it now! And I'd hope sometime in everyone's life you come to the point everyone is entitled to their own habits. Good or bad; who are we to judge if part of graves downfalls in life are also including a bad addiction. That my friend is a horrible blur on such a confirm-able reality. (for now) And thus bringing a Cigar and this comment are part of exactly "WTF is this" is! :D

But I believe Riot said the other day he doesn't smoke anymore, he vapes. He just does so in secret to avoid being called a hipster.

CinnaBon Kittenz1 votes

I saw that, it was pretty cool, cigars are just merely an example. If they truly did bring this back they could easily enough change it to a vape pin.

PopTart Kittenz1 votes

is the cooldown reduction just for the smokescreen, or all the powers?

CinnaBon Kittenz2 votes

Its just for the smokescreen, it was just to highlight the want graves has for his smoking habits. :)

It should be less of a buff, kind of like that "Ninjas work alone" passive that reduces dmg by 1 for every other ninja on a team, or how Vayne has the "Sunglasses" passive that makes her take 1 less dmg from Leona.

I don't know if those are still in the game anymore though.

Well, smoking is frowned upon in many public places in the USA anymore. You know, that stuff called secondhand smoke and cancer? Even in television and movies any smoking gets an R rating. I think the developers might have thought about the game with the T rating of the game and puff, puff, passed.

yeah.. i saw the commercials ... pets with breathing problems.... but it is america... dropping your baby near an animal can be hazardous for animal too.

I believe it is actually got to do with regulations in countries outside the USA. Depictions of Smoking is heavily regulated in other countries... since it causes cancer amongst other horrible things.

It is similar to how all the depictions of skulls had to be removed for the Chinese market.
