A map per tier.

Has Riot considered creating a map per each Tier instead of maintaining the same map all the way up to the top?

They could start simple and include more objectives and complexities depending on the Tier?

Non-ranked = Howling abyss Bronze = Howling abyss-ish with jungle on one side and a few Jungle creeps. Silver = Twisted Treeline Gold = Twisted Treeline-ish with jungle on outer sides of map Platinum = Summoner's Rift Etc. ...

Anyone have an idea of what a Challenger or Master tier map would look like? Would the towers be live creatures? Would there be no jungle, just an open clearing? Would there be more (or less) creeps to farm and would they be harder to farm? Would teams be able to add things to the maps as the match progressed -- barriers, towers, watch-dog-like creeps, etc.?

How would that help? Other than just making more work for the sake of it, it would force people to learn a new map just to advance, instead of learning the game and its mechanics. Sorry, but as interesting as this would be, it is not feasible.

The game and its mechanics never really change.

Having the chance to use what you know in new and more challenging environments is part of the pleasure of advancing towards upper tiers.

It would be a lot of work (possibly), that I do understand.

You're severely underestimating the impact of map changes.

For simplicity's sake, let's assume that this concept is adopted in Dynamic Queue, which remains as a 5v5 ranked draft match. There's one source of gold income on HA: who gets it? With the addition of a jungle and a second source of gold, who gets that? Similarly for each tier up. Furthermore, how is balance handled? Champ abilities strong on HA are highly different from abilities strong on SR. Balancing for one side of the spectrum would make certain champs excessively weak/strong for the other side.

Each map and corresponding tier would develop its own meta, which would be increasingly unusable as you advance. That effectively kills the possibility of knowledge trickling down the bracket, since strategies and gameplay designed around four or five gold sources and a certain map layout don't work with only one or two gold sources and a different map layout. The end result would simply exacerbate the difference between high-level and low-level play.

This might eventually hurt the esports aspect too. Players could be less interested in watching high-level play if it was literally impossible for them to imitate what they saw. Learning how pros work the map doesn't really help when they don't even play on the same map.

That is very good insight. Thanks. #nosarcasm
