To have come this far: he either means to enlighten us or devour us. ―Heimerdinger

Averdrian is an interesting entity. Many have looked up at the stars and wondered what mysteries the unknown holds. But few would think that there are those above who look down at Runeterra and wonder the same.

Such is the case of the being who calls himself Averdrian; his sudden appearance on the outskirts of Piltover—crashing down like a comet—threw the inquisitive community into an uproar. When the state champions were sent at the crash site to investigate, this strange visitor proved to come in peace.

**Whether or not Averdrian's intent is positive or negative, for now he works with the Piltoverin Scientists, studying Runeterra. His massive pool of knolwedge shows a sinister side to him which has been seen to cause distress and disturb others. Too often does he disapear without a word, and much less a trace. Whatever Averdrian desires and why-ever he is here, only time will tell. **

This is WIP. Numbers and Values are subuject to change.

P: Astral Barrier: Averdrian can press any of his basic abilities to activate Astral Barrier. ACTIVE: Averdrian surrounds himself with an Astral Barrier that absorbs 80 + (10 x level) + (10% of his maximum mana) incoming damage. While Astral Barrier is active, Averdrian gains access to cast his basic abilities. The cooldown of this ability begins when his Astral Barrier expires, and is reduced by 1.35 seconds for every ability Averdrian used while it was active. A visual effect shows Averdrian's Astral Barrier is ready. Cooldown: 12/10/8 seconds

The Astral Barrier constantly surrounds Averdrian but does not sheild him untill activated.

Note: Like Zyra's Rise of the Thorns or Sion's Glory in Death, Astral Barrier replaces his basic abilities whenever Astral Barrier's shield isn't active. Double tapping a key will activate Astral Barrier and will activate the appropriate ability. His Shield's cooldown will not began to cooldown untill its destroyed, but it can be reduced by casting spells.

Q: Detonate/Consume Spirit:

ACTIVE: Detonate: If Astral Barrier is active, Averdrian detonates a portion of the shield and fires it at a target area dealing damage in an area upon contact. If a target is hit, Detonate is refreshed by 5.5 seconds and gains 125% of the value originally expended.

ACTIVE: Consume Spirit: If Astral Barrier is on cooldown, Averdrian can execute an ally creep under 50% health to consume its spirit. Upon consuming an ally creep, Averdrian increases his next Astral Barrier's effectiveness by 10% and refunds 115% of this spells mana cost.

Cooldown: 6.65 second. Mana cost: 60/65/75/80/100.

Note: Most of Averdrian's damage comes from this spell. Landing it succesfully is key to his success and will reward him with another shot. However, he is punished for missing it. Consume Spirit helps him bring his Astral Barrier up with more power and keeps him active.

W: Lockdown: ACTIVE: Averdrian consumes his current shields to heal himself for a percentage of their value.

Cooldown: 15

Mana Cost: 80

Note: A simple ability. Because Averdrian has enough going on, this ability gives him some simple decision making and sustain.

E: Redirect Energies: ACTIVE: Averdrian creates a bond between himself and a target enemy for up to 4.25 seconds. During this time, any damage soaked by Astral Barrier is also dealt to the enemy anchor. At the end of the duration, for the next 2.5 seconds, Averdrian can fire the damage he and his target took (With or without Astral Barrier) combined foward, dealing damage to all units hit and rooting them for .75 seconds. Consecutive enemies take 10% reduced damage at a minumum of 65% damage.

Cooldown: 13/12/11/10/10

Mana cost: 70.

Note: Here is where Averdrian is more than just Astral Barrier managment and skillshots. If Averdrian can use Redirect Energies succesfully he is massively rewarded. Summoners who cannot successfully use this ability will be very lacking in damage. This ability also forces Averdrian to take a step foward and away from his poke oriented play style. Similar to Lux's passive, Xerath's Passive, or Zigg's Passive, this ability forces Averdrian to risk it for the bisket. Melee's can than get access to Averdrian. The binded target only takes the damage that the shield takes, so once the shield is popped Averdrian will not transfer damage back but will still charge it for the recast.

Astral Beam: Averdrians other wordly presence calls alien creatures to his plane and allows him to project his powers across the battle field.

PASSIVE: Averdrian calls creatures of other planes to his aid. The walk near him but do not attack enemies. These Planar Beings heal a portion from Lock Down and can be used for Consume Spirit. They can be damaged. A creature spawns every 12 seconds. Breaking a Astral Barrier will cause a disturbance, causing a Planar Being to be called down after .5 seconds.

ACTIVE: Averdrian breaks down 3 of his Planar Beings into energy. He fires the matter up into the air and fires them all to fall back down at a target location (1000/1500/1800 units) dealing magic damage. The planar energy fires down in a explosion of vibrant green energy dealing damage every .33 seconds over 2 seconds at a target location. Recasting the ability will cause it to move in that direction. This ability can only be recast once and uses Vector cast.

Cooldown: 2 seconds.

Cost: One Planar Being.

This kit for Averdrian is WIP, numbers and values are subject to change. Lore, story, and more art will eventually be added upon repost.

In this iteration for Averdrian, he's a high poke mage who lacks as much CC as some mages along with lacking mobility. However he has massive, consistant poke and is a incredible priority for the enemy. If his team can help keep him safe, he can deal incredible damage. However he has trouble reaching the backline due to the meat walls that tanks cause. Cleaning up teamfights is not a problem for Averdrian either as his ultimate can finish fleeing targets off.

Much Inspiration comes from this old Avedrian post: http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=2027315

Very interesting thoughts put into this concept. I like how his basic abilities interact off his passive shield. But the theme of this champion seems unrelated to the world of Runeterra and could use a more epic name. Otherwise, a unique concept with potential.
