Dark Star Thresh as a legendary skin, feels underwhelming and conflicting to the nature of Thresh. If you compare it to any of the other project skins, the project skin wins, even the ones that cost 1350 rp. And honestly, any of his other skins offer a more interesting fantasy than Dark Star. Don't get me wrong, Dark Star is a super cool idea, Thresh evolving past devouring the souls of humans, but devouring the souls of galaxy, stars. Buto he doesn't look the part, at all. Dark Star Thresh should look he devours god damn stars. He should look like an instrument capable of destroying galaxies.

Expect he looks like a cheesy villain from a 80s movie. His hook is colored purple with yellow tinting for flay passive, giving it a contrasting color, a popular troupe from films of the time. I think most importantly, he looks he's wandering in the drapes he found in someone's house. The whole skin looks like it was made in someone's house out of old clothes and plastic, seriously that hook looks like a toy. Everything about him is extremely hammed, a big difference from the usual creature that is Thresh, a sadistic spirit that's aware of his alignment of evil, simply doing this for his own sadistic enjoyment.

Dark Star Thresh is the bad guy because he is, he has no motivation for being a dick other than he's an evil character, stars don't exactly feel pain or have real reactions. He talks about how a star screams, but that's not nearly the same as a human. Thresh is motivated to collect souls to torment them for all eternity. Dark Star Thresh does it because... he's hungry? He never stops talking about his hunger to devour stars, and that's a totally different reason Thresh in his lore collects souls. Thresh collects souls to torment them for all eternity in his lantern. If Dark Star Thresh hungers for the souls of stars, doesn't that just make him an evil creature, rather than the sadistic spirit of the long forgotten warden? Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with Thresh being evil, but its wrong when he lacks a human motivation.

If Thresh is not motivated by a human emotion, evil or not, then he has lost all point as a character. If Dark Star Thresh is only motivated by his hunger for stars, if you took that away from him, then he longer has a reason for being evil. If Dark Star Thresh no longer had this hunger to devour stars, would he keep going galaxy to galaxy to devour them? Thresh would, because he has the chance to torment and agonize trillions of souls. But I don't think Dark Star Thresh would. I think Dark Star Thresh would just sulk around, pretending to be evil without doing anything. Because he has no motivation to do anything and his only personality trait is b movie villain.

I just feel like Riot totally forgot who Thresh is as a character. They forgot the sadistic chain warden, motivated to collect souls to torment them for all eternity, they forgot Thresh doesn't care for those in his lantern, only their reactions. He would never refer to himself as "they" or "us." And most importantly, they forgot Thresh does it for fun, he has no real reason to do what he does other than that it amuses him. Shaco is the same way in that regard, and he hasn't got a legendary skin where he won't stop talking very slowly and with little humor as possible about how he needs to end his hunger for murder as he walks around in a trash bag and two bargain bin toy knives.

tl;dr Dark Star Thresh looks homeless and talks like he's reading a Shakespeare play from a Sparknote
