See Silent Night Sona's banner here. I think it would be the most fair thing to do since RP was never refunded (I of course do not blame Riot for not refunding).

I used to love this skin and now I find I play with the Base Splash instead because that skin no longer has any meaning.

If you like the skin, use it. If you dont like the skin, Dont use it. This is why i dislike the fact that there are 'earned' skins like from playing ranked. There is no MEANING behind the skin its just to change your look. Who cares if you have the added vintage banner effect or not, they bought it or got it for free or whatever. Doesn't change how it functions in game.
