[Champion Concept Lore] Rygoras, the Undying -- "My Final Rest"
#Rygoras, the Undying
I have very little time to post the actual concept-- I'll be sure to do that next weekend. But I'll be damned if I don't tease you guys with some lore first :^)
"I have seen the aeons roll by like weeks, centuries like days, empires rising and falling with the sun. Immortality is a gift to those without it; a curse to those with it. My life is far past it's expiration, and now I only seek rest."

When the world was still an infant, a continent existed far north from Valoran's present day location, ridden with war and bloodshed. The land, still shifting and turning almost like liquid as it had not yet solidified into it's final shape, causing detrimental disaster and catastrophe to those in it's wake. Searing hot magma flowed through the valleys and plains like rivers, dust from mountains colliding rid the air of any clarity, and with the dawn of mankind, constant war was flooding the lands. In the midst of the constant chaos, there was one being who toppled them all: Rygoras.
Now, Rygoras was a giant: a very large humanoid figure, towering taller than any hill or mountain in sight. His steps left craters, quaking the ground with every stomp. His breath blew down settlements and villages, and his voice deafened those with ears too small to handle his indomitable howl. In the younger ages of human-kind, they were savages, and had no means of taking down Rygoras-- mere tiny little figures that flew miles when kicked by his large feet. However, as years went on by, humans began to work together, slowly but surely, to combat Rygoras, to the point that one day, Rygoras found himself too injured to continue his rampage across the countryside, and had to retreat away to his den in the mountains.
Angered and infuriated with red hot rage, Rygoras sought out a mystical being that was said to take refuge in the mountains over a small lake, known to grant mysterious powers and abilities. Upon arriving, Rygoras asked for immortality-- to allow him to continue his rampage across the lands without injury. The mystical figure denied Rygoras's request, giving him the cold shoulder. Even more enraged, he decided he didn't need it anyways, charging into battle the next morning to stir up chaos even more. Of course, as soon as he arrived, humans were ready, united together against a common threat. He was easily defeated, returning once again to the mountains with even more injuries. He demanded that the celestial being gave him immortality, but they again refused. Out of pure anger, Rygoras demolished the lake and drained the water from it to flow down the river, in spite against the spirit. In outrage, the mystical being cursed out at Rygoras, and as revenge against Rygoras, made his wish come true, using up the last of it's life essence to complete the 'gift.' "You will know misery in time" were it's last words before it slowly faded. As stubborn has he was, Rygoras ignored this.
With his newfound immortality, Rygoras charged in the next day, bombarding himself against the humans and destroying them once more. He was an unstoppable force, and eventually, wiped every other being off the map of the continent. After the first year of nothing, everything began to become mediocre, and was absurdly boring. As years rolled by, Rygoras becamed frustrated, and destroyed the land itself out of boredom. It was not the same. He marched at the bottom of the seas as time passed, eventually becoming bored of living. He seeked death, he seeked his own demise-- he had lived too long, and it was time for him to sleep. But he could never die. The mystical power had now become an undying curse; a gift, now a burden. Over time, he lost interest in causing misery, as his own misery was too great for him to wage a one man war on anything anymore. He trembled across lands and jumped off from the highest heights, bathed in volcanic magma and attempted to harm himself in the most severe ways. But it was not enough. Nothing could kill him. Nothing could end him. His own existence fueled his own depression, and now, he seeks for one who can break his curse, and free him of his life so that he may eternally rest.
