Champion Concept: = Old Aatrox + changes.
As I mentioned in another thread, for those of us who miss the play style of the original Aatrox, that version cannot be brought back at the expense of the current version. Too much work has been invested on Riot's part to create and balance the him and too many players have adopted and mastered him. So a way around this is to bring the original back as a new Champion. This concept attempts to suggest just that.
Gameplay: Passive. I think this is the biggest change I would want to see to the old kit. Remove revive from Bloodwell, another effect can be added to compensate for this sacrifice, clearly this was one of the most annoying aspects when playing against him.
Q Dark Flight. A well balanced ability, however, a change I would suggest is adding a click and drag option (like victor E) that would create a new, pure mobility version. So to clarify double casting Q would produce the original version while casting Q and dragging in a direction would result in Aatrox flying in the direction dragged to for extra distance traveled.
W Blood Thirst/Price, E Blades of Torment and R Massacre I would have unchanged.
The closest aesthetic to a demon in LoL, IMO, would be a Void character, and since I am terrible with names, the name I use here is an alphabetically inverted Aatrox, Zz'gilc, which I pronounce zuh-gill-ck.
Short Bio: ZZ'GILC THE BLADE OF THE VOID
During the rebellion of Icathia, among the horrors unleashed from the Void, Appeared Zz'gilc, a horrible creature not lacking in primal strength and ferocity common to its kin yet there was something out of place in its movement. Zz'gilc fought as a swordsman with practiced skill and even had the appearance of a fully armored knight at first. The aesthetic of this being was an illusion, not as a result of any physical thing, but as psychic effect on those who beheld the creature, this illusion would fade as Zz'gilc's carelessness grew in the carnage of battle. Revealing its true form, though wielding no sword, the blade of the void used its own limbs as living blades.
In its last battle, Zz'gilc, was defeated by the noble Aatrox, peering into the mind of the warrior, gathering knowledge and corrupting with its fowl psyche, Zz'gilc spoke into the consciousness of the ascended god "Here I die but death cannot stop us, war reveals what is within us, await my resurrection Aatrox, our war will never end."
Disclaimer: Not a writer. There are some things I meant to add here. Mainly, I wanted to connect Zz'gilc with the "Hero" of the Protectorate, since the new Aatrox seems to have abandoned that story. My Idea was to have this event pre-date the Void invasion of Icathia, which would mean, even before a rift to Rune Terra was opened Zz'gilc had already visited it. I was going to use Zilean's time related power to investigate the distant past and discover Zz'gilc's involvement which was incorrectly attributed to Aatrox due to the creature's psychic illusions. This story would also demonstrate how different in mindset Zz'gilc is compared to other creatures from the Void, mainly, his fondness for war, massacre and the mockery of non-void entities (his knight illusion for example).
Some of my Favorite voice lines from old Aatrox.
On R cast: Behold! Having played entirely too much of Cyclops in Marvel vs Capcom 2, his line, Behold! Mega Optic Blast! This one line was silly and nostalgic for me.
His Joke: This is no mere Massacre, this is my masterwork. Portraying Aatrox as an Artist in a... messed up way and then Jhin stole his thunder lol. Also there is a song by Jessie J. called Masterpiece which becomes more comedic once you picture Aatrox as the struggling Artist.
I bring that up to write one last thing regarding Zilean investigating Zz'gilc: As Zilean gazed back through time and witnessed the massacre of the Mage Lords, his eye's were met with the stare of void creature who, evidently had rallied the Protectorate, non of whom seemed to be aware of the horror amongst them. The "Warlord" seemed to be aware of Zileans gaze, then its voiced echoed in the in the mind of the mage "Behold! This is no mere massacre, this is my masterwork". Zilean retreated, though his mind would be tormented for some time after, the creature's invasive psychic message, its arrogant conquering laughter and its manipulation of humans disturbed Zilean deeply.
That's all I got, Thanks for reading, hope its entertaining. And Riot... please? lol
