So, i know i might get a lot of shit for this, but i LOVE this champion design for more reasons than just what she can do etc... She is an actual black girl, with kinky curly hair!! :O we still have yet to get a champion that resembles an actual black girl in real life with the hair texture and all... some people have speculated that Karma is black, but she isn't she was made to be more Indian/asian so that's that, we have 2 black male champions but no female one ;w; ALSO Illaoi is not black (iv'e had some people tell me this) Illaoi is Polynesian(an islander) so ye LOL

Wait, no discussion of a kit or even a kit to speak of?

I'm all for diversity, but if your only reason for wanting this champion in the game is the fact that they are black and female, then I think your priorities for a videogame are in the wrong place.

Yes!!!!! I agree that there needs to be a black female character. Kinda odd how league has quite a few ethnic female champs ranging from Asian (Ahri ), Pacific Islanders (Illaoi ), South American (Nidalee ), Middle Eastern (Taliyah ), and Western Asian (Karma ) but no black women.

That person didn't even do the art though. The creator is clearly linked below the piece. They just made the kit and wrote a little blurb about lore.

This character is waaaaay too similar to lucian; a black marksman that uses magic and relies heavily on abilities with AAs in between. fights against the shadow isle."the sentinels light", lucian is literally referred to as that in his bio. the only reason you like the champion is because it's false diversity. if you want actual diversity than try making them their own unique character that's diverse in ethnicity as well as story and game play. Also theirs no such thing as pacific islands in league. Illaoi looks black and comes from the same region as this concept character.

i logged in to comment on this!!!!!!! i love her design!!! ive been trying to design a black female champion tooooo. and ive been thinking about her hair a lot as well. yes yes yes to her design.

i am honestly so tired of the argument of "well why do we need that or why should we add it for the sake of adding it"

no one is saying to make a black girl or more ethnically diverse looking champions and let them be a one dimensional champion whos only worth is that.

did zoe have to be white? did janna have to be white? did soraka have to be white in her star guardian skin? did lulu or poppy?

there are going to be ideas for new adcs mages whatever all the time, why cant they be more non-white humanoids??

why not be constructive and come up with a cool kit for her or one in general and add this design to it.

Love the art, love the kit, love the sentiment. However, as a matter of perspective I'd urge you to consider the world this game is set in - Runeterra. There is no Asia, Europe or Africa in Runeterra. The interpretation of what the ethnicities of different characters would be in the real world is very subjective. Karma and Illaoi to me would be 'black' women, from the their dark skin to their personas and voices. In regards to hair 'black' people can have many hair types, for example Aborigines can have straight hair, and sometimes even blonde hair when they're young.

Yeah, I mean, I don't really factor race into what makes a champion a "good" design. Runeterra has more races than just what differences exist in humans, and I feel like color differences between the same species wouldn't matter nearly as much in a world with races that are vastly different, it's not so much a difference between skin color, but rather a difference in culture (A prime example as to why Noxus and Demacia hate eachother, and why Noxus despises Ionia). I was also under the impression that Senna (Lucian's wife) was black as well, but of course, she only exists in the lore and not as a champion (and we've only seen her ghost technically, I'm just going off of her facial structure from what we see in the Lucian login screen).

I don't like people enjoying a character for what they are, rather than WHO they are. I'm sure I'm going to get a lot of scheisse for saying that as well, but that's just how I feel towards it. While having a black woman would be a beautiful addition to the league roster, I find it more offensive to have a token just for the sake of adding a diverse character to the world, rather than a well-written character that was inspired by an idea.

Fun Fact. Pre-rework, as in still in fan mode, Karma was confirmed to be black and when she got reworked her ethnicity changed.
