Poking Fun at the Strange Direction of Champion Splash Art

Disclaimer: I love 98 percent of the splashes and have spent a lot of money on the sweet 20 seconds I get to look at them before every game. Some characters I have even decided to learn to play solely because they had a cool splash. But....

I've noticed some odd things in the last year with some of the splashes. I used to like the original Sivir splash but then Riot decided they wanted to make her look a little less girly and little more buck-toothed spider.

Then they decided Dreadknight Garen's head was much too proportional so they wanted to give him an extra tiny head (I am going to be really upset if China got the NA Dreadknight Garen in exchange).

Meanwhile Silver Fang Akali only looks good in the Chinese region. (We'll trade you back tiny head Garen for her.)

And please say a prayer for poor original Nasus who does not have a neck but rather his head is attached to his chest.

Quick hits: -Why does soccer goalie blitzcrank have to dive for the ball when he has a go-go gadget arm? -Officer Caitlyn's nose is big -Spectacular Sivir is an ironic name for the artwork on that splash. -It was amusing to see Volibear as a Brown bear for a skin idea... three times in a row! -Volibear basically gets a new hat every time they make him a skin. Meanwhile, Tibbers is a sidekick and has appeared as a rocket panda, Frankenstein, dressed as a women, dressed in a suit, and dressed as a bunny. -Orianna's new splash is one of my favorites to be honest. She is one of the rare champs they has gotten 3 goth skins. -Syndra is apparently blind or has strange tastes in giant helmets. Outside of her original skin, her other iterations blindfold her.

I feel like the new dreadnight Garen suffers from what I like to call "oversized-shoulder-armor -syndrome".

Shyvana's new splash art is badass. She's gone from blue girl in weird armor to awwww shit she's totally a half dragon and she's gonna kill you

Highnoon Yasuo has a Gunblade instead of his normal sword. You can even hear and somewhat see the gunshots when he uses his Q.

Usually I like the splash art updates, with a few exceptions. The new Dreadknight Garen is one of them. The old art had better proportions, matched his in-game model better, and looks much more sinister than the new art.

Officer Vi's full splash. Caitlyn has fiddlesticks legs.

I think his body really is proportional. However, the extremedly big armour + the shoulders of the armour which nearly frame Garen's head is what makes it look like its smaller than itt really is.

But there is actually something that I ask. Yes, his a man in arms, trained for war and all stuff. But still, how can you carry such a heavy armour + a big sword and still be able to run? (Not to mention fight)

Personally I find the full metal pantheon thought error amusing. Ziggs

New Vayne is caught in some dark magicks that make her hair fly in a completely different direction than it should, as well as making her look garish.

I find that Sivir's new splash just lets her bust hang a bit more; accentuates it. Oh, and it shows sand, so...Shurima!

I don't understand why they changed Dreadknight Garen. His new splash may have him in a more intimidating pose, but I much preferred the old one.

I just wish they had a consistent direction with their art.

At this point I would rather then have two or three splash arts per champion done by different art teams, and let me chose the one I like best.

I really cant stand some of the default and purchased skin splash arts and would love to be able to switch to alternate pictures.
