Would it work?

So I have seen skin request threads like this for a couple of years and was wondering, they probably won't happen for some political reason right? Like the Templar Skin line or Crusader skin line which is based on real life Templars etc? Like for example, let's say Champs like Garen got the Crusader Skin and Fiora got the Knights Templar Skin, it would cause backlash or something?
