[Champion Concept] Ra'Shaa, the Eldritch Exile
Picture, if you will, your fantasy of beauty. Is it a woman? A man? A flower? A color? Whatever it is, Ra'Shaa exists on a level far beyond your comprehension. A self-exile of a lower caste of subjugated insectoids born of the Void, Ra'Shaa's beauty is incomprehensible by mortals. Her true form, so prepossessive and magnificent, is unknowable by our eyes. Our minds do paint a picture, though. A picture of a great, gorgeous moth-like creature, floating through the skies like a dainty feather or leaf. As a former inhabitant of the Void, Ra'Shaa escaped through one of the many Zz'Rot Portals that pop in and out of existence in southern Shurima. Having earned the gift of freedom, Ra'Shaa wanted to use it for solitude. All she wants now was to be left alone.
Ra'Shaa is a pure Support champion who emphasizes her loner nature through her abilities. Escape, deception, kiting, and disengage are what she excels best at, for her, and for her teammates. Through the manipulation of various dusts and powders spawned from her moth-like wings, she chokes the life from her enemies as her and her allies either make their escape, or run circles around them.

Passive: Gusts of Powder
Ra’shaa’s basic attacks deal no damage, but pierce through all targets struck to the main target. Instead of dealing damage, her basic attacks slow the target and all enemies between her and her target by 15%, and reduce those target’s damage dealt by 10% for 1.5/2/2.5 (lvl 1/7/11) seconds. Ra’shaa’s basic attacks do apply on-hit effects.
Q: Vanish in Dust - 800 Range - 65/70/75/80/85 Mana - 10/9.5/9/8.5/8 Second Cooldown
Ra’shaa shrouds herself or a target ally in light-bending dust, stealthing the target for .25/.5/.75/1/1.25 seconds. While stealthed, the target gains 20% (+10% p/100 AP) increased movement speed.
If the ally comes in contact with any of Ra’shaa’s dusts, the duration of Vanish in Dust will be refreshed. Vanish in Dust can only be refreshed once per dust effect.
W:** Energy Powder** - 1000/100 Range - 50 Mana - 14/13/12/11/10 Second Cooldown - 275 Radius
Ra’Shaa launches a ball of charged energy dust towards the cursor. When the dust reaches an enemy champion, the end of it’s path, or when the ability is reactivated, the ball explodes. Enemies caught in the explosion take 30/50/70/90/110 (30% AP) Magic Damage, and are **Blinded **and slowed by 20/25/30/35/40% for 2 seconds.
E: Protective Cloud - 850 Range - 60/65/70/75/80 Mana - 11/10.5/10/9.5/9 Second Cooldown - 300 Radius
Ra’Shaa sends a burst of energy at the target location. Allies in the burst’s radius are immediately healed for 5/10/15/20/25 (+30% AP), and again every .5 seconds. Within the cloud, Ra’shaa and her allies gain 10/20/30/40/50 Armor and Magic Resistance (+.5 p/2 AP). Lasts 5 seconds, for a maximum of 50/100/150/200/250 (+300% AP) healing.
R: Void Glide - 100 Mana - 120/110/100 Second Cooldown - 350 Radius
Passive: Ra’shaa’s slowing effects ignore 20/35/50% of enemy Slow Resistance. In addition, Ra’shaa’s slows stack with each other, even slows granted by her items.
Active: After a .25 second channel, Ra’shaa charges herself with Void energy and flies upward, knocking enemies immediately beside her 300 units away, and beginning to fly over the battlefield. During this time, Ra’shaa is only targetable by ranged attacks and point-and-click abilities, and can travel over terrain. She stays in the air for 12 seconds.
Ra’shaa gains 50/75/100% Movement Speed and releases a volatile powder in her wake. The powder deals 20/25/30/35/40 (+40% AP) Magic Damage and stays in her path for 5 seconds. Enemies in the powder are affected by** Gusts of Powder’s** slow.
Playstyle:
As a Support, Ra'Shaa isn't looking to fight. Quite the opposite, she's looking to keep herself and her ADC safe from trades and skirmishes as long as possible. This works well with most ADCs, who want to get to late game as soon as possible. Of course, when conflicts do arise, Ra'Shaa has tools to deal with enemy laners. Energy Powder and Gusts of Powder severely weaken auto-attack focused Marksman, and help her ADC partner win the trade before shrouding them with Vanish in Dust, allowing them to get away.
Ra'Shaa can't deal damage with normal attacks, so it's impossible for her to lane alone. However, her attacks still benefit from on-hit effects, and, post-6, all of her slows will stack on each other. If she builds an Iceborn Gauntlet, and slows someone with Gusts of Powder, Energy Powder, and the Iceborn Gauntlet passive, the target will be slowed for a hefty 55%. This makes Ra'Shaa scale wonderfully into the late game, as her constant, crippling slows allow her allies to destroy her weakened enemies. In a pinch, Ra'Shaa herself is impossible to catch. Void Glide gives her almost unparalleled mobility, rivaled only by Highlander Master Yi and Valor. In a teamfight, it allows her to keep safe from frontlines, while flying overhead to cripple the enemy damage dealers so her allies can go to work. For her safety, she can easily fly over nearby terrain to temporary safety, before flying back into the field of battle when the time is right.
Remember that Ra'Shaa can detonate her Energy Powder remotely. It gives her a way to extend Vanish in Powder in a pinch, when Protective Cloud may not be available to do so.
Appearance and theme:
Disclaimer - I do not own any pictures in this post. Those belong to their rightful owners.
While we may never know Ra'Shaa's true form, what we do get to gaze upon is a glorious, giant moth. While she is covered in typical Void shades - purple, black, and blue - her visuals would draw inspiration from various magical moths across fiction. My favorite is Mothra, the gargantuan moth of the Godzilla films. Having been around a long time, there's other versions of Mothra from which to take inspiration from as well. Another piece of art I like to draw inspiration from is the Goldenglow Moth of Magic the Gathering, which I feel Ra'Shaa would resemble while her ultimate is active, although glowing purple rather than gold.
As for her voice, Ra'Shaa's would be as lovely as her form, albeit with a few insectoid clicks and chirps. She would have similar verbal ticks to Kha'Zix, another insectoid from the Void. She may draw out some vowels like Kha'Zix ("From the daaaarrrk..."), and speak in a similar, raspy tone.
Synergies and Counters:
Synergizes With -
- Singed, the Mad Chemist - Ra’Shaa and Singed make a particularly poisonous combination. The two of them can run circles around enemies, the victims choking and hacking up bile as they slowly keel over from Poison Trail combined with** Gusts of Powder** and Void Glide.
- Rengar, the Pridestalker - Stealth allows Rengar to unexpectedly leap onto enemy champions. This mechanic would be monitored to see how strong it is, and it is expected to be very strong. Vanish In Dust will allow Rengar to instantly take advantage of Unseen Predator, leaping upon his unfortunate victim.
- Kalista, the Spear of Vengeance - Ra’Shaa is particularly squishy, but being pulled to safety by Fate’s Call will save her from an unfortunate encounter. In addition, the knockup from Fate’s Call combined with the knockback from Void Glide, and Ra’Shaa’s subsequent crowd control, will make a very deadly combination. Also,** Sentinel**’s passive synergizes REALLY well with Gusts of Powder.
Struggles Against -
- Gnar, the Missing Link - The main benefit of Void Glide is that Ra’Shaa becomes untargetable by melee attacks and skillshots. This makes it actually strong against Mega Gnar, but Mini Gnar can still keep up. With speed boosts and extra damage from Hyper, Ra’Shaa will struggle against this tiny, tanky terror.
- Soraka, the Starchild - Ra’Shaa excels not at harassing enemies directly, but setting up her ADC partner to make favorable trades with her combination of healing, slows, and enemy damage reduction. Soraka can nullify Ra’Shaa’s support with her own, however, healing her allies and silencing Ra’Shaa, essentially turning the encounter into a 1v2.
- Quinn and Valor, Demacia’s Wings - Void Glide makes Ra’Shaa almost impossible to pin down. Not for Valor! This would actually a unique counter-mechanic placed in the game - Valor’s melee attacks CAN strike Ra’Shaa while she’s flying. It makes sense that a flying creature can hit another flying creature, yeah? And with movement speed to keep up, Valor will have little trouble setting Quinn up for a kill on the Eldritch Exile.

My past threads:
Akken'dis, the Voice of Heroes Galio, the Eternal Sentinel Jacqueline "Jackie" Connolly, the Archaic Prodigy
Ra'Shaa has the potential to be a very annoying Support champion, with numerous tools to hassle and weaken enemies while making her own allies stronger. Her combination of crowd control and debuffs make her a force to be reckoned with late game, even if she is on the squishy side. Once her enemies are on the ground, weakened and bleeding, perhaps they will wish they had left this lonesome creature to her own ends. She just wants to be left alone, and if you chase her, you will die.
So, will you witness her beauty?
