Vaken is a melee energy based fighter who suffers from a curse that force him to frequently rest to recover his energy.

Lore

Once a proud mercenary, Vaken was known as Valoran's mightiest Sword-for-hire. Money did not interest him as all he wanted was fresh new foes to test his strength against. During the Noxian invasion of Ionia he was hired by Noxus without all that much thought behind it. However after that they had unleashed Vaken upon Ionia they came to the realization that he was quite possibly the most powerful individual in their entire army. He was tireless on the battlefield and every battle ended the practically the same way; His enemies dead and he unscathed.

One day while he was returning to an Noxian base after a self-assigned mission he was approached by a mysterious woman. _"Are you the warrior who have been wrecking havoc here lately? _ - she asked. "Are you looking for an autograph" - he replied with a smug and arrogant grin. The woman was highly amused by his answer and giggled slightly before telling him her intentions; "I'm here to kill you, if you don't mind" "I'd like to see you try" - he replied and engaged her with tremendous speed. The first swing of his sword whistled through the air, but no target was hit. The woman had pretty easily dodged his attack and while Vaken at first was highly impressed, he felt that something was wrong. For some reason he was already sweating. He tried again with no success but this time he felt like all of energy had been drain from his body. "How do you like my curse" - she said tauntingly as Vaken barely were able to stand up straight. From this point on the witch could toy with him, blasting him back and forth with powerful spells or striking him with her staff while he wasn't able to muster the strength to defend himself. But as she eventually decided to finish him of, Vaken was filled with a dying rage, rejuvenating his energy and allowing him to land a single hit on the witch. The wound was fairly deep and stretched from her left hip to right shoulder. Screaming with agony she disengaged the fight and left Vaken alone, beaten, cursed and furious.

After a few hours of rest Vaken got up and walked away. He could not return to the Noxian base as he still felt the curse with every stepped he took, every action that suddenly had gotten bothersome. Regardless, there is only one thing that matters to him right now, and that is to find the witch and force her to undo the curse, one way or another.

Abilities:

Passive: Curse of Exhaustion

Vaken have 100 energy which work as a resource to use his abilities. Vaken do not regenerate energy unconditionally unlike others who use energy, instead he need to Rest to regenerate energy. Vaken will begin to rest whenever stands still without attacking for 0,25 second, upon which he will generate energy every 0,25 seconds.

It is also possible for Vaken to use abilities even if his current energy total is less than required, however doing so will cause him to become exhausted (not the summoner spell), forcing him to rest until he have generated 50 energy, effectively stunning him for the duration.

Time to regenerate 100 energy: 2.5

In addition due to his constant exhaustion he cannot attack properly constantly, causing his normal basic attacks to only scale with 80% of his attack damage.

Q: Ferocious Leap Type: Skillshot, AoE, Dash Cost: 40 energy Cooldown: 8 seconds leap range: 800 AoE radius: 200

Vaken leaps to targeted location and when he arrives he preform a powerful sweeping attack, dealing 80 / 110 / 140 / 170 / 200 (+120% bonus attack damage) physical damage in the area.

W: Slithering Strike Type: Single-target, dash Cost: 30 energy Cooldown: 8 seconds Range: 350

Vaken targets an enemy, rooting it for 1 / 1,25 / 1,5 / 1,75 / 2 seconds while darting around it. While travelling Vaken becomes untargetable and once he arrives he preform a powerful strike that deals 30 / 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 (+100% attack damage) .

E: Proper Striking Type: Self-buff Cost: 15 energy per attack Cooldown: 0,5 seconds

Toggle: While toggled, Vaken will attack properly, causing his attacks to scale with 110 / 120 / 130 / 140 / 150% attack damage and passively giving him 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50% attack speed, but cause his attacks to cost energy.

Ultimate: Tireless Rage Type: Self-buff, passive Cost: 0 Cooldown: 100 / 80 / 60 seconds

Passive: When resting Vaken takes 20 / 25 / 30% less damage and he generates 0,75 / 1,75 / 2,75 health for each point of energy generated.

Active: Vaken enters a tireless rage, reducing his energy to 0 but remove the energy cost of all of his abilities for 8 seconds. During this time Proper Striking is activated on default and basic attacks reduce the cooldown of his Q and W by 2 seconds. When the effect ends he will be forced to rest until he have 100 energy.

Changelog:

-Full nergy regen changed to 2,5 second at all levels from 4-2 seconds depending on level -Q base damage down to 80-200 from 80--240 -Ultimate no longer gives passive armor pen and tenacity instead it states that E is always active during ult and basic attacks during ult reduce the cooldown of Q and W by 2 seconds. -Q and W cooldown is increased to 8 seconds.

So I felt like I should give this champion a little bit of a review. Why? Well simply because I like reading champion concepts is why. Anyways lets get onto the critic.

The passive, is a new take on the energy system. Instead of generating energy naturally you would need to stand still literally resting to recover the energy back. Heck he can even over exert himself if he uses too much energy on his abilities. In concept this is actually great cause it adds a sense of realism to the character. Game play wise it is interesting as well, though I do have one concern. Mainly it is when he becomes exhausted. It says that is basically a stun tell he has enough energy which is a two second minimum. Now I will admit this is a very harsh punishment as you aren't able to do anything and it is a bit anti fun you know? Here is what I suggest, and this is after reading the rest of the kit. You can turn it into a harsh slow instead and reduce his damage by 50%. Still allows some sort movement but at a drastic cost.

Okay for the Q I see a lot of damage. I mean a lot of damage. Seeing that this is not only a leap but that is does massive damage in an AoE is strong. Now with the current numbers and scaling this would be good for a single target ability, but hitting multiple foes with this damage for a basic ability. What I suggest is that you lower the base damage, but the scaling can remain the same.

The W isn't a bad ability. I actually have something similar in the works for one of my future concepts. Though personally I think the root is a bit too long of a duration. That is just me. Other then that I like how it flows and like the concept of it.

The E is a fantastic ability. While it is simply empowering his basic attacks I can see how it flows into his kit really nicely. A bit lack luster but I personally like it.

Time for the ultimate. The passive for the ultimate is a nice touch. Resting grants him a bit of health regen and damage resist which isn't bad. I would have to see how it plays in game to see if the damage resist is too much or not. Now as for the active, I feel that it is an over loaded ability. When I say over loaded it means that is grants a bit too much. So here is what you get, no cost on the rest of your abilities, movement speed, tenacity, and armor penetration. While there are repercussions for the ult forcing him to rest tell he has max energy, I feel as though many of the stats given by this ultimate aren't the best. Instead I would remove either the remove the tenacity or armor penetration and then replace the other with another effect. What other effect you may ask? Well seeing that the ability is called tireless rage perhaps you can cut the base cool downs of his other abilities in half during this. That will synergize well seeing as he wouldn't have any energy costs to deal with.

Though this is a simple review on this champion here. Hopefully you found some help with this. Feedback whether it be good or bad is meant to help so keep that in mind. Anyways feel free to check out one of my recent concepts, Raseri, The Living Conduit if you like.
