Give me ideas and tips!

I'm completely new to skin concepts, but I would like to try and make some of my own because there are champions that I wish had more skins. If anyone has any tips or tricks to give me about making one or something along those lines please do tell me! Also, I would like your ideas on what skins to make, however, no skins for champions who have plenty. If you have any ideas for the following champion please tell me: Also if you know of any free programs that are good for this please tell me. (I am currently using paint.net and it's not going well) Please comment!

you have listed two of the champions i despise, but despite that, you really just gotta look at a champion and think "what color would this champion look cool in?" then you have to find a reason or common theme to justify your want for that champion to be that color. also look at their equipment, what could be used in replacement of that weapon? What are the champions abilities? Could they be described in a different manner for the same effect? I hope you find an answer in my reply, and good luck!

I think u shouldnt ever, ever, ever make a skin that enforces modern day themes upon these characters.

Can you imagine going to Runeterra and seeing a Pool Party Lee Sin?
