Champion Concept: Illyda - The Battle Dancer
Lore: Born in Demacia to an impoverished farming family, she joined the Demacian army's ranks for their pay and the promise of safety for her family's land. She was one of the best secret agents in the nation, generally being sent on reconnaissance or deep cover missions as a spy or a scout...but her entire life changed the first time she truly had to kill a man. The gruesomeness of the scene, the gutwrenching feeling as the watched the Noxian spy that was her target's life fade out of his eyes...it was too much for her. She was left unnamed, as most spies are, but the event was being celebrated for that night, Demacia had eliminated a long-wanted man off of their list, but to her, it meant only that the nightmarish encounter was real. Still, she danced at the ball they threw, seeking even a moment of tranquility in the act. Slowly, Illyda seemed for just a moment in the song to fade away from the crowd, into her own quiet space in her mind...just her, the music, the motions of the dance...and when she returned, she found the entire crowd staring at her in awe. There was a moment of silence, as her embarrassment turned into apprehension...then the whole crowd cheered her. They'd never seen anything near akin to her level of skill in dancing, an art she only practiced as a schoolgirl with her mother and teacher for fun. But the crowd much enjoyed it...almost too much. Illyda was soon approached by a man who seemed to hold high ranking within the army, and who seemed to see completely through her acting that night. They left the ball together, discussing much. Including the horror she felt from killing, and the way the crowd reacted to her dancing. The man, seemingly going off a hunch, took Illyda to the barracks, just before the changing of the guard, and had her dance for the men there. The crowd was tired and irritable when she arrived, but she and the man left the building filled with a crowd of rejuvenated, spirited soldiers. This enigmatic man Illyda was with turned out to be none other than the prodigious strategist Atlas, so unsurprisingly, he was granted permission to transfer this successful special task agent into his unit. Although he made sure Illyda was trained to defend herself should she must, on his behest, she took her place on the battlefield not by fighting, but by using her dancing skills to rejuvenate her allies spirits and help with morale. While on the battlefield, she realized that her talents were far more than she could have imagined, being able to easily distract even the most seasoned of enemy warriors with her mesmerizing routines, and even speeding up the physical healing process of injured soldiers. She didn't know exactly when it occurred to her that her dances and profound healing abilities could be influenced by magic to have the effect they did, but she decided that as long as nobody else came up with the same idea that she didn't care. Little did she know that the potential she was discovering herself through her efforts was the sole purpose Atlas had brought her into his unit in the first place.
Role: Support Base Stats: HP: 505|+53 HR/5: 7.1|+.72 MANA: 355|+42 MR/5: 5.5|+.53 AD: 47|+1.2 AS: .45|+.023 AR: 25|+1.2 MR: 30|+0.43 MS: 345 RN: 80
Passive: Happy Feet- Illyda can move through units, and blesses allied Champions she passes through, doubling their health and mana regen for 5 seconds. Does not stack, and can't affect the same unit more than once every 15s. In addition, blessing an allied champion or casting an ability gives Illyda 15% bonus movespeed for 3 seconds.
Q: Bladedancer- Illyda's next basic deals bonus damage and moves Illyda behind her target. The target is Dazed, moving 25% slower for 2s and unable to use movement abilities or items for the duration. Damage: [normal basic attack + 20/25/30/40/50(+20%AD/30%AP)] Cooldown: 10/9/8/7/6s || Mana Cost: 55 mana
W: Tango of Battle- Illyda leaps to a champion or minion within 300 units of her. If the unit was an ally champion, they become Inspired, gaining 20/35/50/65/80(+5/100AP) adaptive force for the next 1.5s. If it was an enemy, they are microstunned (for .25s) and marked for the next 3s. Marked enemies take 10% damage from all sources over its duration. NOTE: This ability on its own does no damage. Cooldown: holds 3 charges. Delay between charges flat .5s / 20/18/16/14/12s charge timer. || Mana cost: 55/65/75/85/95 mana
E: Dancer's Splendor- Illyda dances for a target ally, channeling for up to 3s and healing them for the duration. If Illyda completes the entire 3s channel, her ally also gains 10% of their missing mana immediately. (think of this sort of like a fiddle drain in terms of how it works, except that there is no teher range, just a range on the initial cast. Champions who make themselves untargetable, unlike fiddle drain, will break the tether early, however.) Heals: 75/125/175/225/275+60%AP) over 3s. || Cooldown: 13/12/11/10/9s || Mana 65/70/75/80/85 mana
R: Regal Pirouette- Illyda Channels for 2 seconds, being allowed to move, but not cast anything else, over this time, then jumps into the air, becoming untargetable for .5s. Upon landing, she raises the morale of her allies, giving them 25/30/35% movespeed, 10/15/20% damage reduction, and 20/25/30% tenacity if they were within a 500 unit radius of her at the time of the landing. The MS swiftly decays over 4s, while the damage reduction and tenacity are constant over the duration. Cooldown: 150/120/90s || Mana: 150 all ranks.
Shoutout to Mr.Voidling, whose character Atlas is the sole reason that Illyda was able to make it into Demacia, with their strict magic bans and all. This partial collaboration effort is a first for me, but definitely will not be the last. Please be sure to check out Voidling's work, particularly for Atlas, as understanding the backstory of his concept is key to understanding a fair part of my own.
