Champion Concept: Kaia, The Dark Tide

Kaia is a Powerful mage, making waves in the mid lane.

Passive-Mal De Mer(Sailor's term for seasickness) Kym's Abilities slow champions by 5% for 3 seconds( cannot be applied to the same champion for 10 seconds.)

Q-Abyssal wave-(Skill shot)(Cost: 75 mana)(Range:First hit 600, Second 400) Kaia shoots forth a Wave of water, That stuns the first target hit if they have off guard applied, Then it would cause the wave to split in half around it, shooting two new projectiles at approximately a 30 degree angle behind the initial target, hitting new targets for half the original stun duration,** Removed** half the damage. 40/60/80/100/120(+20% Ap) Duration 0.3/0.6/0.7/0.9/1.0 secs

W-Pearl of the Abyss- Summons a pearl at the target location(range: 20), When stepped on by enemies they are revealed for 1.0/1.75/2.50/3.0/3.75 seconds, and applied a stack of Off-Guard Kaia's next ability deals 5%(+5% Ap) that lasts for 20 seconds. They will disappear after the max has been placed (15 max)

E-Abyssal Song-(Cost: 40/50/60/70/80 mana)(Channel 3 secs) Kaia sings a song sang by the abyssal creatures causing all near by (300 units) enemies to walk to her harmlessly.(Duration: 0.5/1.0/1.5/2.0/2.5 sec) applies a debuff: Off-guard- Kaia's next ability deals 5%(+5% Ap) more damage.(New) During this time Kaia is rooted and gains a shield shielding 40/55/70/85/100 (+30% Ability Power) Newer While she is rooted hard cc may cancel Abyssal Song and all enemies caught get +15 Armor and +15 Magic resistance( To make it less of a struggle to live)

R- Wrath of The Abyss- (Cost: 200 mana) Kaia calls upon the power of the abyss And Sends 6 waves of energized water towards a target(Like Lucian's ult but it homes in).The first wave doing 70/140/200(+50% Ap). Each wave hit makes the next do 20 more dmg(The waves collide with minions, neutral monsters, but not walls.0 If Off-Guard is applied +172.)

Health: 560.08 (+81 per level)

Mana: 240.4 (+30 per level)

Attack Damage: 51.97 (+2.375 per level)

Attack Speed: 0.637 (+2.35% per level)

Movement Speed: 350

Health Regen: 8.37 (+0.55 per level)

Mana Regen: 8.155 (+0.45 per level)

Armor: 28.72 (+4 per level)

Magic Resist: 30 (+1 per level)

Kaia was once a Marai and was the chosen Tidecaller, and she set off on her quest to retrieve an abyssal pearl. She faced many horrors and with each one she grew more insane, and broken. At last she could see the pearl and she swam to it, but then she heard a faint whisper that said "Come Kym Your people will fear you because you have grown warped, and insane. ", and it was true Kaia's Beautiful multicolored scales were now dark purple, and bone white, her Marvelous tail had fanned out and became octopus tentacles . She called back "but what about the quest?" The Voice laughed "Your people already send someone to replace you." Kym Snarled. She never liked the Marai any way, she liked to use more force, while the were more passive. So she followed the voice and it lead her to a shrine glowing purple In the water. In the shrine Laid a Staff That Irradiated Dark Energy. without thinking Kym dropped her coral staff and Grabbed the Other. As soon as she touched it She felt a Surge of power. She smiled, It felt good. The voice Spoke "Now Kym Exact Revenge on the one who was Chosen After you, LET HER FEEL THE POWER OF THE DARK TIDE!"

Kaia- "You too, will be swimming with the fishes!"

Enemies- Nami , and Fizz

Still needs some balancing but i hope you guys like it!

To me this champion idea is very solid. There is alot of cc and damage that can come out of this, and alot of counter play needed. However, as constructional criticism, I feel like the E ability should make her rooted. So then everyone around her attacks her in one location, kind of like galieo's ultimate instead of like a shen or rammus taunt. This would bring a whole new dynamic to League of legends and would be a great team initiator. However, with this new e, she would have to be like a tanky top lane which would take away from her mid lane presence. With this kit I feel like she would be better in the top lane. strong cc, strong damage, but with a bit of tank for her to soak up the damage while your team can help cc and damage. Her kit would go really well with gnar and other champions with a taunt. Really great idea for a champ and I cant wait to see some of these dynamics into new champions :D

Hello. This isn't a criticism, but I can't really do a good review right now for specific abilities and stats, as overall the page needs a bit more organization. Once that's done, I will give you a full review on all of her stuff. Just from a quick look over of what there is, it's a pretty cool concept. Keep going!

Here's my thoughts.

Passive How much is this slow and how long does it last? Is this supposed to be a support champion because I am seeing a LOT of AP Carry potential mixed with a bunch of Tank and support effects. This can be EXTREMELY OP. In fact, imo. It is OP. Having all abilities with a slow....that's strong. Especially depending on how big of a slow and how long does it last. Are they immune to it for a while afterwords or can they be perpetually slowed?

Q Please for the love of god reduce that stun duration. This thing is Morgana's stun on steroids. It may not last as long as Morgana's stun, but it hits a LOT more people. This is extremely strong. With that huge of a range it is a bigger range than Varus's Q. That's a huge range for a stun. Yes, it stops on first enemy hit, but even so. That's a huge poke with CC on it. Not to mention depending on the passive this is going to be counter intuitive since she gets a slow from her passive. The slow would have no effect since they are stunned, or they will be stunned for a long time AND still slowed after. Depending on the passive of how long it lasts.

Also, what's the cooldown on this thing? All I can think of is Morgana's stun on steroids. It is half the duration at max level, but it hits more and has a MUCH bigger range. Depending on this things Cooldown I have to say that the range needs to be toned down or that the stun duration needs to be reduced or removed. You already have the slow. You could also do something where it will stun anyone that is slowed, but otherwise it slows them because of the passive.

The stun duration with something like this, imo, should be 1s at max rank, at most. That 0.5 may not seem like much shaving off, and in fact I think it should 0.5s and 0.25s for those hit by the split waves because of the fact it does damage where as most other stuns do NOT damage. Just my thoughts.

W Is there a max amount to these? How far is the cast range? Can the enemy see them? Out of everything so far this is the ability I think is not OP and in fact pretty decent. I do hate though that it's kinda like Teemo's stupid little mushrooms thought without damage.....item 3070 item 3151item 3070

But these are just a few questions is all for this just to clarify details.

E This. I'm sorry, but this is insane. No channel, low cost, high range (this is bigger than Amumu's ultimate range and slightly Slight smaller than Nunu's ultimate). Sure, it roots you, but this thing has no counter. It gives a shield and an AoE no counter crowd control. Just enter a team fight and instant enchant for almost the same duration as Morgana's max rank stun (0.5s less). On an entire team. Within the area of an ultimate. That is strong. Extremely so.

She just went from a support/mage just a tank. Screw mid lane. Send her bottom to stun the squishy ranged or top to hold the already slow tanks in place.

Give this thing a channel time. Reduce the range. The channel time allows for some counter play. someone can knock her out of it. Also, how short is the cooldown? This thing can be a nightmare. I just imagine this as an AoE Ahri's kiss with Morgana's stun duration. Neither of which are fun. Plus a shield? Ouch.

R This thing is stronger than Nunu's ult with 500AP (which would do about 2500 total with 500AP and max damage) AND it homes in on people. No channel time that I know of AND it does almost 3000 damage in health (Obviously before MR). Most AP carries can get between 400-600 AP in a game if they are good. Not to mention it looks like it's a targeted ability from the way you say "towards a target" which implies to me that it targets someone.

It's pretty much, oh HEY PERSON! Click. Bye. Now you say it collides with minions an monsters, but not turrets and walls. What about other champions? How big of a range does this thing have?

This ultimate is a guaranteed kill as unless you're building tanky (which most ADC's and APC's don't) this is going to kill them no questions asked. No counter, nothing.

I have to say that this ultimate is the strongest I have ever seen on any champion. I would say it's even stronger than my most hated ultimate and that's Katarina's and Lux's. I've seen both OHKO entire teams. So if this thing makes me cringe you can understand my cringiness towards this ultimate. Reduce the damage is my suggestion.

Overall I like the overall concept. I know what you're going for. I just think, as of right now she is more of a mage with tank CC and Assassin burst with that ultimate which is more powerful in terms of damage than any ultimate I know of and most of those abilities are channeled and can be interrupted before being cast. Nunu's ult for example can be interrupted or even canceled by enemies or even avoided. This can't be.

The who concept of her being the Tide Caller who listens to darknesses lies (because we all know Nami's people had faith in the tide caller, but Nami went against their wishes) and that she is supposed to be a dark version of Nami (from what I can gather), but her CC is extremely strong and targeted with HUGE range and AoE low cost no counter stuns.

The Q needs to be changed as that range is insane if you want to keep the stun. Reduce the stun duration.

W is fine as is. Slightly longer lasting than Diana's reveal and just as annoying as Teemo's mushrooms with the slow, but depending on the answers to my questions it's not a bad ability.

The E needs to have a channel if you want it to be that huge of a range. The duration of the stun should be reduced. That's a huge AoE Morgana stun. Especially with that shield....it's gonna be hard to interrupt her. Not even fiddle can hit her with his silence I don't think. I think the range on that is 500 or 550 while her AoE is 600. Maybe even do something that she begins and the radius slowly increases (which is shown to both enemies and allies) so people can adjust accordingly.

R. Reduce the damage. Specify if it is targeted or not. Also, if it is targeted then say the range, and if you're unwilling to change the damage, and even if you're not then add a channel time.

The reason I talk about counters is because you have to think about not only playing as the champion, but playing against the champion. Imagine yourself up against your own champion and think of how you would counter all of their abilities, and what if you didn't have a specific champion or there was only ONE champion capable of counter her. That would almost force someone to need that champion or be screwed.
