Janna

  • Q damage increased against champions
  • W damage nerfed & cooldown increased
  • [addition] W: 2 seconds after being hit by W, target becomes windswept. If Janna is within X range of windswept target she can reactivate W to push the target in a chosen direction.

By giving Janna more ways to play around her tornadoes, she becomes a more consistent threat. Increasing Janna's playmaking ability will slightly alter her playstyle from a passive support to a more engaging support.

You want to turn her into a midlaner again? Nah, Q damage is fine where it's at. Also, watch out for all the Janna mains out there riding the freelo train that will downvote this too oblivion.... as well as the ADCs that hate seeing "Janna damage increased" when she's already annoying enough.


I mean, I do like the idea of reworking the W for better skill expression, though. I'd say even cut the "2 seconds". Essentially if you're dumb enough to be hit by a tornado with how telegraphed it is, you deserve the redirect that follows.

However to balance that, make the distance the W throws depend on how charged the Q Tornado is (in live, the knock-up duration and Q distance depends on how long you hold onto it before letting the Q go, so there's already a framework to build this W on). And POSSIBLY let the W redirect ANYONE whose knocked up, say by Rek'sai or whoever, the distance dependent on the duration of the knockup (Sej Q almost nonexistent tho).

  • She'd definitely have more skill expression.
  • It fits her wind theme!
  • Even the W movespeed passive doesn't need changing since it could explained that the stored wind propels her passively or something like that.
  • If they need to take power away somewhere for a tradeoff, maybe hit her shield again and make her a queen of displacement rather than shields... though I can feel the hate coming for this comment... but, read the next comment
  • This would make her a lot more interactive in lane!

But it would never work. Solely because you're subjecting Janna mains, who Riot will listen to, to a massive change in her W's targeting. Point and click and is the easiest targeting in the game, just about... and you're asking to change her W to one of the hardest: a psuedo vector cast Taliyah-style.

You're increasing her mechanical skill requirement by twofold overnight. As great an idea it may sound... you're changing her too much. And Janna may not need more displacement.

Knockups and knockbacks are also the only CC that's not reduced by Tenacity.
