######Mah CCOS Link!

######To those who are confused by the Bonus Links, and the specification that this is a CCOS Champion Concept Entry, I'm entering in a monthly champion concept contest hosted by the Archivist Echoing. You can find this month's CCOS post here. I really suggest you offer feedback, enter, or if your daring be a judge for one of the entries, as it can be a lot of fun while granting some insight to champion design and gameplay.

##In Game Description: Torquemadas movements are above all else, sinister and precise. He confidently and gracefully moves about the Fields of Justice, bearing The Veil on his back as he travels. A golden drape covers the Darkin shield.

#General Information: Torquemada is a religious extremist and powerful curate from Demacia. He wields a Darkin shield who he believes to be the Veiled Lady, Demacia’s primary goddess. She uses blood magic to heal people. Torquemada is a necessary instrument for her to channel her power through. She still lies dormant and bides her time as she corrupts Demacia from the inside out. Once she feels confident in her success, she will take physical form and become the goddess she was meant to be.

######Full Name: Homber Torquemada

######Gender: Male

######Race: Demacian

######Birthplace: Demacia

######Residence: Demacia

##Weapons: Carries The Veil on his back with him at all times.

#Lore:

##In gleaming, gilded towers of ivory, marble, and metal, noble curates and holy men attempt to raise Demacia ever higher to the heavens and Her Grace. Ascended by his own golden pedestal, Homber Torquemada spreads the words of The Veiled Lady, Demacia’s highest divine. Praised and loved for his almost magical connection to their goddess, he lives lavishly. And as any loyal disciple of Her, he ruthlessly quells witches and warlocks alike. Behind his sheet of deception however, he brings to life a vicious Darkin from eras past. And perhaps, in his own twisted way, he truly does herald what he’s promised the people.

To a weaker man, it may have seemed by chance that the hag had knowledge of the bastion. But She assures Torquemada he was chosen. He was special.

That's what people want to be told. That they are unique. That they make a difference. That they matter.

Even before his first contact with the Veiled Lady, Torquemada had a certain charisma and influence that was left unrivaled. She would however open grand gates of opportunity

The Veracious Veil, often referred to simply as The Veil, was supposed to remain hidden. It was offered up like a chip on a tilted gambling table by some vile witch whose name mixed in with the others. She’d be tortured, the only acceptable treatment from Torquemada, a newly established inquisitor.

Desperate for the relief or release that would not be allowed, she begged. Eventually she claimed of a secret. A broad shield, a bastion, shaped in the likes of the Demacian emblem, had been recovered from an old blessed pool in the destroyed Onyx Halls, dedicated to the Lady herself. Despite its existence being kept secret, word got out.

And the rumor caught Torquemada’s interest like a fish in a trap. The dieing women explained this shield was unlike anything she’d heard of and the mysterious properties it possesed. Once the inquisitor got more than an earful, Torquemada began to work and plot a plan. He was however not one to make a deal with a witch, and had her finally burned to death.

Years would pass after Torquemada used bribery and dark alliances to retrieve the bastion and he would develop an interesting connection and knowledge of its powers.

The Veil spoke to him. Her voice was confused and aggressive at first, but as he explained his circumstances and answered her questions with eagerness, she came to reason. Torquemada was communicating with the Veiled Lady. She comforted and reassured him. And then she revealed the wonders she could perform.

The first miracle occured when a rotting child was brought in from the rain, sickness having ravaged her body beyond help. They rested her delicate body on a stone slap, with The Veil sitting resting nearby with a golden textile covering it’s demonic appearance.

Torquemada went through his futile motions and tried his share of herbs and balms, but her body still shook violently, as if dispelling a spirit. And then there was nothing left to do, but leave the girl to fight her sickness alone.

Hours passed as she rested before Torquemada and the Demacians who brought her in returned. Torquemada’s belief in the Veil strengthened, for the girl was sitting up. The worst affliction she had was a flushed face. These incredible feats would bring Torquemada wealth, favor, influence, and admiration. It would become apparent that the Veiled Lady also supported his acts regarding witchcraft. Referencing how mages were bound to traitorism, she referenced something known as the Darkin.

So with every mage brought into the inquisitor’s court, The Veil recuperate. The Veiled Lady whispered in Torquemada’s head and wove her fingers into the scaffolding of his mind. It became clear her ability to heal the sick and wounded was reliant on the suffering, bleeding, and death offered by the punishment of mages.

Whether or not Torquemada knows ‘The Veiled Lady’ is truly an ancient Darkin building various forms of corruption in Demacia or not is unclear. The whispers of another world may have driven him mad. Perhaps he has convinced himself he heralds the holy entity’s presence as he preaches her beliefs. Either way, the Darkin Illaas plans once more to bring Runeterrans to their knees, and the mages who imprisoned her to their death.

##Her Veil may cover my eyes but I see more clearly than ever before.

Illaas extends her ability to sense the breath of life around her to Torquemada. If an ally champion is between Torquemada and an enemy champion within 600/700/800 units, his next attack range is increased to 600/700/800 units and empowered against that enemy. An empowered basic attack will siphon blood from the enemy, slicing through all enemies along the way and healing the ally used to channel this attack.

  • Torquemada is also healed.
  • An enemy can only have blood siphoned from them every 8 seconds.

Torquemada infuses raw Darkin aggression and soul into words, reciting a powerful incantation over 1.5 seconds that inflicts an increasing slow to enemies in the line of impact. Enemies hit are damaged every second and at the end of the channel are stunned with a visual clap.

https://i.imgur.com/a0UFYuv.jpg ##W: Purity In Blood:

Passively allies near Torquemada with a magic shield cannot be crowd controlled.

On activation, Torquemada expels any % of maximum health to grant an ally a magic shield scaling with ability power. The more health expelled, the greater the magic shield.

Torquemada dissolves with a shower of crimson and scarlet and reappears by a target allies position, granting him and the ally movement speed.

  • The cursor can be used to blink to a particular side of the ally, similar to Katarina’s shunpo.
  • Used to reposition and utilize passive more easily.

Torquemada’s body is overwhelmed as Illaas channels through him, driving extremely potent blood magic into a nearby ally. For 3 seconds, an allied champion cannot die by any means and their health may go below 0. After 3 seconds, if the allied champion’s health is still below 0, they die.

  • The cast channel only lasts for .5 seconds.

Hi! Thought I'd leave a couple thoughts.

I like the idea of the passive - it creates very straightforward interaction and serves as a moderately powerful teamfighting tool, although the ability might be quite strong in lane due to the relatively low cooldown. I think having it scale down from a higher value (say, 12 or 16 seconds) would making it much more useful to fight, both as and against. There's also a minor issue in that it could potentially be quite clunky due to the way character models and sizes work. That's not to say it detracts strongly from this ability, but it is something to keep in mind.

The Q in general looks quite fine, though I will have to ask if it is a channel. If it is, then it would have to have quite a bit of power, through either range or damage for it to be effective due to it not being able to be moved. For a support-ish character it would make sense due to how it does work, though again I would caution trying to make better sense of this ability.

W's passive should straight up go - it's not really ubiquitous enough to be universally useful and it has so much hidden power (ex. Kassadin, anyone who buys Hexdrinker/Maw) that it should just be folded into the original ability. Doing so would reduce the rare but ridiculous possibilities of degenerate combos like the ones I have just mentioned and make quantifying the power of the ability much simpler as well. As to the expelling of max health, does that mean you channel for X amount of max health to give an ally such shield? Similarly, does that mean you can do the same for yourself?

E looks good, not really much to say.

The R looks like a substantial issue - while it's not as problematic as Tryndamere's own ult, the way in which it works is a substantial issue as it creates very large issues (exarcebated by the W) when often, killing a problematic enemy is their main form of counterplay. By removing it, this means that even in the way you have limited it doesn't really leave much in the way of recourse for the enemy. For this reason, it can be seen that the basic abilities have been crippled quite a bit for the ult to even be in this state at all, which is really not the best - as of now, it's more of a 'win more' ability, meaning you dominate when it's useful, but then you wouldn't really have needed it in the first place. It's this kind of awkward limbo which would have me recommending perhaps a different or other kind of ult, more thematic in a way, without such difficult gameplay implications.

If you don't mind (and I hope I haven't been too harsh) could you look at my concept, Elyssia, the Far Warder?

Suggestions, I'd change the passive requirements to it only needing an enemy within range, but it can still heal allies if it passes them, that way u don't have to worry about model sizes and either the ally or torquemada can move while the AA is in motion to heal the ally, if the AA has a slow enough MS.

Adapt Q wording to convey the affect better Torquemada infuses raw Darkin aggression and soul into words, reciting a powerful incantation over 1.5 seconds that deals damage and increasingly slows in a locked direction linear AoE. Enemies hit are damaged every second and at the end of the channel are stunned with a visual clap.

Why don't u just change w to this

On activation, Torquemada begins channeling expeling a % of maximum health per sec to grant an ally a magic shield scaling with ability power. The more health expelled, the greater the magic shield. While channeling and while the shield persists allies near Torquemada with a magic shield cannot be crowd controlled.

I think about some thing for ur ult

Anyways the idea that Demacia has a darkin that a guy thinks is the veiled lady is a super cool and unique idea, and the idea is pretty solid and well thought out with the darkins relation with mages being a really solid developed idea. Also the idea that the guy is a super "religious" heavily armor guy that hunts those that are basically heretics of his "religion" is reminiscent of a type of character from another game/story that I think a lot of people have wanted... what's it called again?

like the space marine/dreadnaughts

"Torquemadas movements are above all else, sinister and precise. He confidently and gracefully moves about the Fields of Justice" that makes him kinda sound like jhin, make sure u are not getting to close to his character tho I know his motives are different.

Ult Suggestion #1: Torquemada’s body is overwhelmed as Illaas channels through him, driving extremely potent blood magic into a nearby ally. Damage dealt to the affected ally will instead be stored above them in a red sphere that deals DoT dealing 5% of the dmg per sec. When that ally deals damage to any unit the damage stored in the red sphere will be reduced by the damage they dealt (+ a % of Torquemada's MR). The amount of damage stored by the red sphere will affect its size. The more damage stored the bigger it will get

Ult Suggestion #2 Torquemada’s body is overwhelmed as Illaas channels through him, driving extremely potent blood magic into a nearby ally. When an ally deals damage to a unit a red sphere will form above the targets head. The size of the sphere indicates the amount of damage dealt. When a unit that has a red sphere over its head tries to deal damage to the affected ally a.) the damage is negated and the red sphere above them shrinks according to the damage done to the ally b.) the damage is reduced by a % (say 50% (this could also scale w/ one of Torquemada’s stats)) of the damage that the affected ally has dealt to them signified by the red sphere above the enemy As long as the red sphere remains the enemy cannot normally deal damage to the affected ally

Both of these are more fair and require more interaction on the ally's part, but I think suggestion #1 may be more fair.

the things that inspired my ideas for the ult were Knuckle Bine's Potclean ability from a show and the ideas that I, and some Aatrox mains came up with a while ago located here

U may wanna check out both

w/ a little work this concept has the potential to place very well in the end scores, if not one of the highest.

Also i think u forgot to mention Illas' theme; Aatrox = war, Rhaast = death, Varus = corruption?Vengance?(Did they ever confirm this?), So what is Illas?
