Champion: Sir Prize - The Gambit's Grief

Story: Bilgewater is known for 3 things. Gambling, alcohol, and those few dangerous enough to combine the two. Christopher “Thirteen” Vice was one such individual. Cursed from birth with inexplicably terrible luck, Christopher reveled in games of chance. Always challenging his bad luck in desperate attempts to beat it at it's own game. More often than not this resulted in him shooting himself in the foot (sometimes literally), but having just enough money left over to start over again the next day. No matter how terrible the gambit's luck was, he never fully struck out, that is until he met her.

If there was one thing Christopher loved more than games of chance, it was games with women. Vice would often bluff, gamble, and taunt his way to women's hearts in desperate attempts of drunken flirting, and one day he flirted with the wrong girl. The bounty hunter known simply as Miss Fortune found herself at the short end of Christopher's drunken flirt stick, and as a result the enraged hunter shot the gambit 13 times.

Vice awoke the next day the bedroom of an INN, with nothing but the clothes on his back, a knife, and his favorite Bilgewater Roulette Revolver, with a single silver bullet inside it's chamber. This was all he needed, and he knew it. Christopher assumed the name of “Sir Prize,” and drunkenly stumbled his way to the League of Legends, ready to put everything on the line in one last glorious gamble.

**Role:**Sir Prize is a drunken gambling brawler. Hell bent on revenge against Ms. Fortune, Sir Prize brings his unique (if not comedic) style of fighting to Summoner's Rift, and beyond.

Best Lane: Top

Statistics: Health 420(+85) Health Regen 5.0(+0.7) Mana 250(+45) Mana Regen 6.8(+0.7) Attack Damage 46(2.5) Attack Speed 0.525(+1.8%) Armor: 20(+3.5) Magic Res. 32(+0) Mov. Speed (335)

**Innate Passive: ** Curse of Grief – Every time Sir Prize lands an auto attack, his attack damage is reduced by 2, and his Critical hit chance is increased by 1% . This resets when Sir Prize successfully lands a Critical Hit.

Q: Blood Money – Sir Prize heals an enemy champion for a small amount, but after a brief delay he damages them for the same amount plus a little extra for his troubles. Sir Prize can activate this ability early to immediately damage his target, but the bonus damage is reduced. (Heals target enemy for: 60/90/130/160/190 then damages then for 60/90/130/160/190 [+40% bonus AD] after 4 seconds. [if they activate the skill early the bonus is only +25% of AD])

W: *Sunk and Disorderly *– Sir Prize lobs a bottle of sticky Bilgewater Rum to target location. Enemies at the location are slowed slightly for a few seconds, if an enemy is hit directly by the bottle the attack stuns them instead. (Slow: 15/20/30/35/40% for 2 seconds. Direct hit stun: 1/1/1/2/2 seconds. Projectile Speed: 1350)

E: *Rushing Roulette *– Sir Prize passively loads a bullet into his revolver every so often. Activating this skill will cause Sir Prize to unload every shot in his revolver; hitting everything in a line in front of him. Each bullet added to the gun increases the damage of the skill, but also increases the channel time of the skill. (New bullet added every 12/10/8/6/5 seconds. Damage per bullet: 25/32/45/58/72[+40% bonus AD][+2% per bullet added, max of 6 bullets added.]. Channel time per bullet: +.50 seconds Range: 650)

R: Dead or Alive – Sir Prize loads a single silver bullet into his revolver. Then after taking aim at his target he shoots to kill. Dead or Alive's channel cannot be interrupted, and if Sir Prize dies while channeling the skill, it activates immediately and deals bonus damage. *(Channel Time: 2 second. Damage: 125/325/450 [+100% bonus AD] Damage if Sir Prize dies: [250/500/750 [+150% bonus AD])

I like the concept, but I agree with Arkham's Avenger; the passive is too much of a negative. Yasuo gets double crit chance plus a rechargable shield for his passive, Sir Prize is basically losing damage overall (He's losing attack damage, so even if he crits, he's doing hardly any damage). Also, his Q is just strange, I don't see why you would want to heal your opponent then deal that same damage back; why not just have the flat damage? I could see an interesting mechanic where he has some ability to do %current health damage (activate Q once, deal more damage with %current health, then activate Q again for more damage overall), I'd actually like to see that sort of mechanic from him.

I read almost all the new champ concepts, but this is the first that I really got excited about.

The only one that isn't real exciting to me is his W (basic stun/slow). Instead, can I suggest something like this.

W: Unlucky Drink – Sir Prize lobs a bottle of sticky Bilgewater Rum to target location. Enemies at the location are immediately made drunk. For the next 2 seconds, any attacks that the enemies damages Sir Prize with will only damage Sir Prize for 70%/60%/50%/40%/30% and the enemy champion for 30%/40%/50%/60%/70%.

Adjust for balance. This skill would create a huge potential for engaging.

I like the concept, but passive is almost completely negative. Especially when you compare it to tryndamere who just gets free crit chance. Also, maybe you should just straight up make his ultimate crit if he dies casting it. Also, two seconds is a pretty oppressive cast time especially in a teamfight.

I really like everything except his Q. There's really no reason to level it at all if the only damage it does is 40% bonus ad at all levels. Even 40% total AD feels low, since even at 400 AD the ability would do 160 damage max. I would up the base damage after 4 seconds or up the ratio a bit.

Correct me if I'm wrong but based on his passive and assuming he starts with 0% crit chance. When he starts a match and starts laning he could possibly reach lower then 20 AD because he may never crit and his damage will just keep decreasing. So based on that he won't be able to trade with other champs until he buys crit items. Overall I think he needs a new passive, I just don't see it working at all. He would probably have the worst early game possible. again correct me if I'm wrong.

For Q make it similar to Zac, heal for a flat percent of current HP then damage for a scaling percent of max HP or even just a scaling % of current would work too, and the passive needs to either scale less early game so last hitting isn't impossible or just have a less debilitating drawback since early game it is entirely likely that you'll get to 0 AD as early game with a long sword start and max AD runes you'll only have roughly 70-80 AD, now lets put that through the passive, 40% crit chance at max stacks, and that crit will deal next to no damage, kinda a problem...

for the passive u could make it erode BONUS AD versus base that way u can still get some bang for your buck, and higher scaling on the crit chance may not hurt either, like 3%-5% per auto so then u get more resets without rushing statik or bringing a full crit chance rune page

The E doesn't do enough damage for the channel time since if it fires each bullet individually, it will be easy to dodge most of the damage, if it takes so long to wind up then shoots it will still take too long since even at 4 bullets it will be a two second wind up with a telegraphing animation, and he can't even move making it child's play to evade it.

I like the W, kinda like a Leona ult but more spammable

This champ must never be able to touch the ground of top lane, the tank meta forbids this.

I love the concept, but I have some ideas to make his kit a bit better: passive: like everyone else, I think his passive is just too negative, I'd suggest making him lose only 1 AD and gain 5% crit chance, so even if he doesn't crit from 0-100% he only loses 20 AD, also, if he's going to lose AD, might as well give him a built in IE, but that might be a bit much. Q: I would keep the base damage, but honestly you should make the heal amount less and the time it takes to proc less as well, so he get's more use out of it. W: I agree with morvrannis for his W E: I'd suggest making the E instead of unloading them all in one channel, make it like Vi's E, he can unload them one at a time, which allow's him to adjust to moving enemies, and each unload takes .5 seconds. His R is fine to me, and honestly I wish we already had something similar, a damage skill that does more damage if the castor dies before completing the channel, I love it. You literally pop the thing as soon as you're about to die and laugh as you take them with you. But anyway, these are just suggestions, great concept :D

This is the best champion lore I've seen in a champion concept. It gives Sir Prize (great name btw) a complete background that ties him in to Bilgewater and gives him a reason to join the League (revenge). That said, the skills seem a bit off. His passive is not great early, and forces you to buy crit so you don't go on a streak of non-crits. His q has an interesting mechanic, but it doesn't seem like it actually contributes to gameplay, it's just a gimmick. His w is fine, but what drunk throws a bottle that isn't empty? His e is probably the least problematic, but it's underwhelming with the channel and fixed direction shooting. His R is just Cait's R with a bonus if he dies.

I would love to see Sir Prize on the rift, but his abilities need some adjusting. His kit could easily be revamped to better reflect his story and to provide more meaningful choices. (stop reading here if you don't want to read someone else's thoughts on a Sir Prize-ing kit)

Passive - Unlucky: Sir Prize's crit chance is cut in half, but on crits he deals an additional 25% damage as true damage. (silver is apparently true damage in Runeterra)

Q - Drowning Sorrows: Sir Prize takes a drink of Bilgewater Rum, healing himself for 20% of his missing health and causing him to miss his basic attacks for 2 seconds. (it's hard to shoot straight when you're drunk)

W - (mostly the same) Sunk and Disorderly: Sir Prize throws an empty bottle at target location. Enemies are damaged by the shattering bottle and have reduced armor for 4 seconds. Enemies hit directly by the bottle are also stunned for (1, 1.25, 1.5, 1.75, 2) seconds.

E - The only things I would change on this skill are no channel for the first shot and press again to cancel the channel, saving unspent bullets.

R - Gambler's Conceit: Sir Prize loses 20% of his current health over 4 seconds and target enemy champion loses 20% of their maximum health over the same time. If the target dies while affected by Gambler's Conceit, Sir Prize heals for the combined health costs, with overhealing becoming a shield for 10 seconds.

The only thing i would change is his q. Make something a little more iconic. Something like:

~ Q- Double Cross- Passive-Debt: Sir Prize's auto attacks stack debt and deal X damage(scale with lvl no AD or AP scaling)(up to a cap like 10).Active Sir Prize turns in his debt(X gold /for X stacks. Maybe like 1 gold for every 2 stacks) to deal X damage to all targets with stacks. This damage can crit based on half his crit chance. if this ability does crit. Sir Prize is refunded double the gold. If the target dies then gold value is also double. If Sir Prize doesn't have enough money to pay all his debt then the ability doesn't go off.

I feel like this fits the kit really well by offering some crit and adding a dynamic of testing your luck.

Hidden passive: When close to Soraka, he has a low chance of slipping on a banana peel, stunning and dealing damage to him.

Not even going to lie, i like this champion concept a lot :D

I cannot say that I am a large fan of this guy. Nothing made me go "I HAVE TO BUY THIS CHAMPION.

Voidzilla7/30/2014, 8:38:13 PM1 votes

A rather neat Champion concept. I'm really digging his passive and E. His Q does fit into a rather comedic fighting style and can open some interesting gameplay patterns.

The lore though I feel is lacking, that there's a disconnect between the second and third paragraphs. It makes it seem like he just spontaneously decided to join the League, plus the build-up to his "one last gamble" is nonexistent.

I really like his e. Passive and q needs some work though. Maybe gets extra crit chance per ad he has? obviously dont make it too insane. Q could be Heals for %of current health then damages %of current health and applies some on hit affects like botrk? dunno tho.
