Here's the website I made, with all the information for the Polong. The entire concept is there. You can hover over each section for a drop down selection, or click each section for a preview or some general information. The "Reckoning Day Short Poem" is a video and sort of a "teaser" that you may want to visit if your not interested in reading large amounts of lore. Before anyone asks, that is not my natural voice in Reckoning Day. Also, I'm not responsible for any injuries suffered due to the video's cringeyness. Finally, if you click Story and Lore rather than any part of the drop down menu, you will be taken to a short lore summary.

To those who are confused by the Bonus Links, and the specification that this is a CCOS Champion Concept Entry, I'm entering in a monthly champion concept contest hosted by the fantastic Echoing. You can find this month's CCOS post here. I really suggest you offer feedback, enter, or if your daring be a judge for one of the entries, as it can be a lot of fun while granting some insight to champion design and gameplay.

I'd like to mention that Zulfurya helped a tremendous amount in giving feedback and I owe him many thanks. You rock! xD

The ultimate in my opinion is too strong, i mean if with Skarner ultimate it feels like an eternity to be dragged, imagine 7 seconds. you could do some serious reposition and even more dangerous, set the dragged targets to a CC chain combo by your allies. I dont know if on the innate the high base of the basic attack modifier means that The Prolong basic attack damage is extremely low or if there is something else going on or if the modifier is tied to the 10s CD, i couldn't find the base stats so that is mainly why i think that.

i think one of the problems is its similarity with the newest champion Rakan regarding the use of mobility to disrupt and enchant other champions which is the theme. One unique aspect is the mechanic of merging with champions but that in my opinion has some problems especially when tried to be used on allies, because its a skillshot that is supposed to help allies which could pretty much aggravate a crucial situation in where the outcome depends that an ally remains pretty much immovable or readable not only to you but as consequence to enemies, basically losing a skirmish or a teamfight because you couldn't do what u had to do because you missed the skillshot on the ally which is why most ally utility abilities are point-and-click based, there is some exceptions like Lux shield but its because it serves a certain niche of long range and delay to create a windows of play around it.

When it comes to this theme it reminds me of Mina from Dawngate or N'aix from Dota with both of them having the ability as point and click. I dont know if there could be a way to keep both parts on the same skill as maybe making the skill stick to allies kind of how Brand's conflagration does and behave as a skillshot otherwise or the other more common idea i think would be to separate both mechanics, leave the Q to allies and the W to enemies or even do a combination kind of on how N'aix does on his ult that can target ally and enemy but theres always servers the same purpose. I always found this theme interesting but in my opinion its always difficult to set a middle ground.

On the art side, i dont know if it was intended to take certain aspects of the image too literal like the bird animal approach, i mean you could also have used something entirely different since we also had a insight on Ionia and its fauna and culture, honestly when i thought of how the prolong could look i imagined a mix between Lovecraft, with aether kind of veins in red and blue from Eldrazi of MTG which are also based on Lovecraft and Ionian aspects.

Hey there.

I have a comment not on the champion, but on the website design. I hope that's okay.

The website is cool, but everything under the "kit and abilities" tab should really be accessible from a single page, it's harder to keep a train of thought between five different web-pages than it is a single spread, and ultimately this makes it harder to keep focus on the champion and have a fair opinion of him. In addition with the proper formatting they should be perfectly legible and not overly crowded on a single spread, so there's not a whole lot of gain to breaking them up into so many parts.

I love the idea of a companion webpage, though.

Hey! i saw the changes, so this is what i think

Here i go again with the ultimate haha, i still think the ultimate is a problem... the thing is its a very hard ability to deal with, i think the justifications you give doesn't actually lessen its power because, yes ok its a skillshot, both for allies and enemies, but the problem is that its very difficult to deal because once you get the ult on an enemy, their allies cant pretty much do nothing except run away to not get caught too, it creates a situation that doesn't feel fair for the enemy to play against. I mean following the examples you gave, its almost like a Bard ultimate that also lets you move the targets affected to wherever you want and also a fight initiator like a blitz hook. I think the skill is just too strong to fight against, basically leaving as most optimal choice for enemies to retreat before the fight even starts, which can be used to easily contest objectives. I think that the main problem lies that no ability in the game that grants you control over other players last that long and if it does, like tham kench or kalista, they do let the player decide how long they want to be affected by it, which is why i think that when you have to take decisions as oppressive as these, it means that some of the mechanics are just too powerful.

I dont really like to suggest ideas too concrete because they might change perspective but what if instead of the stasis, make it a kind of sleep/trance effect on targets hit, like maybe the modified Q cast trances/sleep targets around you remaining still without moving, attack, cast, etc for x seconds, taking damage/heal over time while affected, and only breaking the effect when they take damage (external damage). Maybe even add interaction like that targets (enemy or ally) can wake up their allies by standing near them for x seconds. The idea is basically a mix of two abilities from two dota heroes, Slithice's Song of the Siren and Bane's Nightmare (yeah i know, more Doto heroes), because of the vibe The Polong gives, its serenity and vengeance kind of attitude and because aesthetically The Polong feels like the kind of champion archetype to bring this kind of weird cc abilities.

I don't like how Mina can give 40% damage reduction, even if she takes the damage, to an ally carry. That would be bat shit insane if it were in League. Maybe it was more fair in Dawngate

Yeah the stats where actually not that important, just the different approach for the same type of ability.

I know I've said it enough, but thanks for sharing. I looked at Eldrazi and similar stuff and that was pretty cool.

oh nice, i didn't see it, my bad, tough yeah i agree, the crow fits to represent this kind of ideals.

In the end this is just a suggestion and im sorry if i appear to be so harsh on the ultimate ability but its just, when abilities deal with things like controlling other players characters, its a difficult space to work with, and well regarding the abilities on allies, it has always been a dilemma, especially between abilities that form tethers to allies and enemies alike because of the targeting problems, which is why i think there is no champion that can do something like it currently in the game but that is in my opinion why people create concepts, to test and find answers to this problems.

Actually, thanks to you for being open to suggestions.

I dont know if you are familiar with the League of legends Wikia, i personally like it because you can show the concepts in a more clear way (at least for me) but anyway, i just wanted to show you this other concept i saw there (Gluon the Skinweaver) because it actually deals with some of the problems you also have like the use of a tether ability for allies and enemies. I found it interesting because in the concept, after the feedback, it approached the tether idea to the idea you presented of skillshots.

Also since the concept has some similarities with yours, i thought you might want to check the feedback this concept got, maybe they can help you theorize more ideas.
