Karma Passive Rework - Giving her a REAL Passive [In depth]

This passive idea fits Karma as a mage who can fit the support role. Karma is most commonly played as a support (from my experience) but is primarilly a mage.

While I never did play Karma before her rework, shield bombs could always be implemented into this rework idea. However in this version being posted, they are not as I wasn't sure if they were unhealthy and thus removed. If they were unhealthy then they shouldn't be brought back into the game, however I do not know why they removed it.

From the Wiki:

"All of Karma's abilities have both an offensive and a defensive component, accentuating the dualism of her character."

This fits her lore. I think this should be part her kit and she deserves a REAL passive. She does not deserve this lazy, slapped on, excuse that should be on her ultimate. Also, her abilities having an offensive and defensive component applies to other champions and isn't very visual or noticeable.

P: Dualities: Karma's Mantle of Decorum is made up of two twin dragons. One dragon represents offense and the other defense. Upon casting a spell that successfully damages an enemy champion or aid an ally champion, the Mantle of Decorum will spin and pulse energy, indicating that her stance has changed. Which ever stance Karma is in will also be the dragon that glows, indicating offensive or defensive state. Upon swapping stances 3 times in 2.65 seconds, Karma's least recent spell will be reduced in cooldown by 3/4/4.75 seconds. Karma's none ultimate skills change based on the stance she is currently in and Mantra'd spells will benefit from both.

Q: Inner Flame: Karma sends forth a ball of spirit energy that explodes upon hitting an enemy. The explosion deals damage, slows, and will mark the enemy with a fiery green dragon that encircles the enemy champions hit. If a second Inner Flame hits a target marked target, it will deal bonus damage and consume the mark.

Defensive Stance: Karma gains a small shield for each enemy champion hit.

Offensive Stance: Karma lowers the magic resistance and armor of the targets hit for 1.8 seconds. This Inner Flame will deal damage after the resistance reduction.

Mantra Bonus: Karma increases the destructive power of the spirit energy, dealing more damage, and creating a catalysm that slows enemies and will aftershock to deal bonus damage after a delay.

W: Focused Resolve: Karma creates a tether between herself and a target enemy champion, dealing damage over time and revealing them. If the tether is not broken within 2 seconds, the enemy is rooted for X seconds and effect will occur based on Karma's stance:

Defensive Stance: Karma's link will slow and ground enemies who walk through.

Offensive Stance: Karma's link will still root the enemy, but will continue to deal damage per second for another 2 seconds or until broken.

Mantra Bonus: Karma can cast the link on an ally to heal them X health after 2.5 seconds or Karma can cast the link on an enemy to heal X% of the damage dealt. Enemies who walk through the link that is attached to an ally will suffer the damage that would have healed the ally but the link is broken.

E: Inspire: Karma provides herself or an ally with a protective shield that increases their movement speed and absorbs damage.

Defensive Stance: If the shield is broken, a second weaker shield will be applied to the targets shielded.

Offensive Stance: If an enemy is damaged by an ally or one of Karma's spells, the movement speed is increased.

Mantra Bonus: The shield radiates energy onto allies, giving them a percentage of the movement speed and shield.

R: Mantra:

Active: Karma empowers her next spell, providing it with bonus effects and causing it to benefit from both the Defensive and Offensive stance's effects.

Passive: Gathering Fire: Karma's spells that damage enemy champions reduce Mantra's cooldown by X seconds. Her basic attacks against enemy champions reduce the cooldown by half the amount a spell would.

Overall this concept gives Karma an identity and real passive. It fits her lore and keeps Karma players with their favorite champion, but better. It requires a decently higher skill cap however, as the player must now plan out what stances they will want and weave their spells correctly. Karma won't necesarilly be able to smash the keyboard just to benefit from her passive (Reducing the least recent spell's cooldown) because if she does not weave her spells for the situation she is in, she may face trouble. Weaving your spells correctly also rewards the Karma player such as the Defensive stance Inspire which will further protect an ally from harm if used in the correct time and situation.

While a Karma who messes up her combo will be punished, it will not normally end her life.

Again, this concept does not include shield bombs. I was not sure whether or not to implement them as Riot did decide to remove them. I was not sure if they were unhealthy and thus removed, but if they could find a place in this kit, I would love to add them.

Please comment below on how this concept could be better. Downvotes don't help me make better concepts and improve current ones. I hope this pleases Karma players, as I enjoy the Enlightened One too. Thank you for taking your time if you did.

If Karma got a passive rework, unless this has been fixed or is intentional, she should finish her quote upon casting ultimate. Currently when she activates her ultimate she says a quote of Ancient Ionian dialect and whatever spell she casts next would finish the sentence also in the dialect. However that was only before her rework and now she doesn't finish the sentence like she should. This should be fixed.

I like the idea, it seems to fit her kit perfectly, its just really complicated and may be slightly difficult to manage. It's like have a passive upon a passive upon a passive. What you could do is if Karma is in offensive mode enemies armor and mr are reduced by X% and in defensive mode karma and nearby allies armor and mr is increased by X%. It serves a similar purpose and is less complicated.

The only reason ever given for her shield bombs removal was to buff her passive, meaning she could have her mantra up more from frequently with her most basic play pattern. Most people who played Karma before it was taken want it back, don't know why Riot refuses to comment on it, even if just to set the record straight.
